We loved camping at the site. The amenities were excellent, and the hot tub was super clean. Overall, the experience was 5 stars. This is in no way to denigrate or take away from the positive review. This is only a suggestion moving forward. When we arrived, we were informed that we were unable to use the fire pit because there was a statewide ban due to a drought in New Hampshire. This is no way the problem of the owner of the site. It is out of their control. However, it would have been nice to know upon booking as doing a campfire is an integral part of the camping experience. The site still receives 5 stars :) -Flynn

We love this camp site! It literally has everything you would need! Morning coffee on the deck in the Adirondack chairs is the most peaceful and best way to start the day. We love taking the boats out on the lake and taking a dip in the hot tub. This was our third time going to this site and we are looking forward to coming back in the future!

A friendly environment that's perfect for unplugging. The lighthouse is a small room with a bed. There are no amenities but the views and the solitude are amazing. There a super firmly cat, named Lynx. Bring treats and love for him.

This is a great camping spot. The nearby waterfall provides a constant blanket of sound that insulates you from the outside world so it feels very isolated without being "in the middle of nowhere". It is well equipped with everything you could need (except food & clothes) and the host provides lots of info about local things to do.

Certainly better accommodations than expected. The tent site was private and had all the essentials you could need. Just bring your fishing rod, a meal, and your favorite drink. Our children loved “living” on the tent site for the weekend. They are already asking the next time we can go. Thank you for a perfect weekend to bid farewell to summer.

This spot was so cute! The teeny house where I stayed with my dogs was great and had updates from what is seen in the listing. I was surprised that there were like no bugs, didn’t have to spray the site at all. They aren’t kidding about it being “teeny” though- you can’t open the door all the way to get in haha but it was great otherwise!

This was a unique and fun experience! I think the Horse Trailer is the Best Option! Just enough space for 2 people and 2 dogs. Waking up you have a front view of the picture perfect water view. Bond fire available and grill. Two swinging tree chairs were very comfy and a great place to sit down with a morning coffee and see the natural beauty around you. From kayaks, to hot tub, to hiking, so much to do! The owner and manager was super helpful and friendly. Defiantly would come back!

We loved the teeny tiny house, it was so cute. It was great to wake up and have coffee right on the water especially being able to paddle around on our personal rowboat. It had everything we needed. The bed is a little firm so bring extra blankets if that's not your thing, but we were comfortable. The amenities were affordably priced and everyone there was so friendly.

My family and I loved the quiet and peaceful place, sleeping with the sound of the water, getting up, lighting the bonfire, and above all, our two dogs accompanied us and enjoyed themselves. I loved staying in the treehouse! Very cute and spacious. The staff was really nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the communal area, used their grill (chimney starter provided, yay!) There was also a really friendly tabby kitty that kept hanging around us which made me super happy. Just some things to note for other people to be prepared, since the treehouse is not insulated it can get noisy. It was windy our first night, with things falling on the metal roof and metal staircase is creaky so bring earplugs. It's a little drafty. We didn't have any issue with mosquitoes though. The roof overhangs a lot in front of the doorway, so tall people beware! They do provide carts to bring your stuff but it is all downhill to the treehouse (to varying degrees) and sometimes rocky so it's still not the easiest task, not to mention going back up so be mindful of how much you're packing! If I were to do it over I'd pack less and carry the weight in my backpack. Still, I would not hesitate to go back! Hopefully for longer next time. I imagine it would be pretty in the fall with the leaves changing all around 😊

Weekend Trip to Streeter Mountain Farm

I always enjoy my time at this farm. Last year we did a tent platform which was great and this year we chose to stay in the Family Room upstairs. I knew it would possibly equal more noise since there’s 3 or 4 other rooms up there, however I love the building. Each room is crafted beautifully. It was nice and cool with all the windows open. We woke with the rooster as a natural alarm clock. I miss the restaurant with its yummy meals but we’ll continue to come back :) Streeter Mountain Farm has a lot to offer!

Where to go

In Town

Meandering through the city center, the Merrimack River provides ample opportunities for swimming, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, offering an outdoors experience within city limits. Outfitters in town rent paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks. On the western side of town, 85-acre Winant Park is laced with short but steep trails.

Lakes Region

An hour’s drive gets you to Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire’s largest lake, which together with Squam, Winnisquam, Newfound, and Ossipee lakes forms the Lakes Region. It’s an all-season destination where activities on offer range from hiking and boating in summer to skiing on Gunstock Mountain in winter. On the southwest shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, Ellacoya State Park has a campground for RVs and trailers.

White Mountains

An hour and a half from Concord, the White Mountains are an all-season haven for outdoor adventurers. You can drive the scenic Kancamagus Highway through the White Mountain National Forest; go skiing in Bretton Woods, and hike or ride the cog railway to the summit of Mount Washington. Overnight options range from RV parks to dispersed camping.

When to Go

Spring and summer are ideal for enjoying the trails and river activities, making these the most popular seasons to visit Concord and the surrounding area. September and October have a different appeal, with cooler temperatures and the landscape busting into rich fall colors: driving the Kancamagus Highway is a great way to view foliage. Winter offers an entirely different experience and opportunities for activities including skiing and dog sledding.
