We are away from the city lights, so nighttime can be quite dark, but the moon can be a spectacular site in the night sky.
Red Rock Canyon is 16 miles away. Many of our guests enjoy the scenic beauty or climbing opportunities in Red Rock. Nevada's newest state park, Ice Age Fossils State Park, is just a few miles away and offers a glimpse into prehistoric time in the region. Welcome to your peaceful, desert getaway. This little Retro Camper is only about 35 minutes from the Strip. The property is home to Joshua trees, desert mountain views, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best star gazing around.
The camper comes with a full kitchen, a refrigerator, microwave, and gas stove. Dishes and utensils are provided as well as bedding and towels. The bed is about a full size bed, maybe a bit smaller, cozy for two people to sleep in. The bed is about a full size bed, maybe a bit smaller, cozy for two people to sleep in. The camper comes with two space heaters and extra blankets for the winter, an overhead air conditioning unit for the summer. The shower has cold water only and is an outdoor shower.

It was quiet, shady with the trees on the side of their property while still providing a great view of the night sky. We had a fire pit, propane grill, picnic tables and chairs already provided which was very nice to use. We originally got an RV spot but we were tent camping so Carlos, Irma’s husband, told us to pick any tent spot to use and it worked out really well. The bathroom and shower room was an air conditioned shed that was great to use.

This was the second time we enjoyed staying at the Hummingbird tiny home and spending an extra night was well needed. The hosts Sandi and Rob were very accommodating and friendly and easy to contact about anything. We enjoyed everything the tiny home had to offer, including nights outside around the campfire and enjoying the peace and quiet that Vegas can’t always offer. We felt very safe and welcomed during our stay. We hope to come back more often for these types of getaways!

We thought this camper was very cute and convenient being so close to Vegas but also away from all the hectic side of Vegas. We loved the outdoor seating area/hammock. The fire pit was also a lot of fun. They even provided the roasting sticks as we forgot to bring ours which was so nice of them. Heather was also really great with providing us with recommendations on what to do and where to eat while we were there. Overall a neat experience.

Weekend Trip to Mojave Desert Ranch
We love Sandy Valley Ranch and look forward to going as often as we can. This was our third time staying and first time staying in the tipi! They provide a space heater and heated blanket so you can be nice and cozy. I still recommend bringing warm layers. We were pleasantly surprised with the little outhouse, it was a regular toilet. We didn't get to use the shower but it's really a perfect setup.
The outside couches were perfect for lounging in and we especially love making breakfast and hot chocolate in the mornings. They also have a mini fridge which we appreciate. You have everything you need. The dogs and farm are always something we look forward to as well.
I would recommend staying!

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
One of the easiest-to-access natural areas from Paradise, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is an excellent place for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. It's spread out over nearly 200,000 acres of Mojave Desert and features a visitor center and a seasonal campground that accommodates tent campers and RVs alike. Dispersed camping at higher elevations is also allowed.
Death Valley
Spread out over more than 3 million acres, Death Valley National Park is known as one of the hottest places on the planet. It's a fantastic spot for stargazing, rock climbing, and hiking, and if you come in the spring, you might even spot wildflowers. Opt for a spring or fall visit if you want to camp as summer temperatures in the park can be brutal.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area
If you're looking for a spot to beat the hot Nevada heat, Lake Mead National Recreation Area just might fit the bill. Along with two lakes (Mead and Mojave), this 1.5 million-acre park has nearly 1,000 campsites. If you come in the winter, when it's too cold to swim, you can still take advantage of the park's expansive network of hiking and biking trails.
When to go
Paradise gets plenty of travelers throughout the year, but you've got to love the heat if you come during the summer, when daytime temperatures often exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the great outdoors, come in spring or fall, when the weather is still warm without being stifling. Winter is also a good option, but be prepared to bundle up if you’re camping in the desert, as it can get quite chilly.
