Camping here is low activity experience as in there is hiking up in the National Forest or just hanging out in your camp site, or bring your camera, notebook and binoculars, or road bike.
When you come to camp here you are on a farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.

Our property sits on 2 acres in the heart of Las Vegas. It is one of the original homesteads of Las Vegas which we are trying to take back to a homestead. The original owners of the property played a huge hand in the building of Vegas. As we have cleaned up the property treasures of a 100 years ago have been found all over the property. On the property you will find a huge garden out front that you are welcome to pick from. We also have over 50 trees on the property you are welcome to walk around and enjoy. If you find yourself in the duck coop or the chicken coop and find an egg you are welcome to enjoy it. Feel free to enjoy the pool, bbq and outside bathroom which has a shower, and full size washer and dryers. We are a smoke/drug free site please be respectful of this rule and violators will be asked to leave without refund. Because we are a "working hobby farm" you will see some weeds and you may even see a project or two we are working on, feel free to join in but please be understanding that in order for us to improve things it will get little messy and can take time to complete. Also, please check the weather before you book, Vegas if very hot during the summer months, if your rig doesn't have AC you will not be comfortable as night temps can be easily over 100.

Welcome to one of northern Nevada's best-kept secrets. Willow Retreat is located just 16 miles south of the Idaho border in the quiet historic town of Mountain City, surrounded by thousands of acres of BLM land and the nearby Duck Valley Reservation. If you're looking to unplug, enjoy the outdoors, and experience true peace and quiet, you've found it.
The property sits directly on the beautiful Owyhee River with nearly two acres of river frontage. Because this is open range country, a barbed-wire fence helps keep cattle off the property. If you choose to cross the fence to fish along the riverbank, please do so at your own risk and leave the fence exactly as you found it.
Fishing here can be excellent! Rainbow trout are commonly caught right from the property, and nearby reservoirs offer even more opportunities for anglers. Bring your favorite bait—worms are always a great choice, and the locals even swear by bacon!
Hunters love this area because it provides easy access to public land in both Nevada and Idaho. Depending on the season, you'll find opportunities for deer, elk, antelope, ducks, upland birds, and more. The surrounding roads and trails also make this a popular destination for ATV riders, off-road enthusiasts, photographers, bird watchers, and anyone who enjoys exploring wide-open country.
Mountain City itself has a fascinating history. Once a thriving mining community during Nevada's copper and silver boom, many of the original buildings and mining remnants can still be seen today. Exploring the old town, abandoned structures, and nearby mining areas offers a unique glimpse into Nevada's past while providing endless opportunities for hiking and photography.
One of the unique features of our property is the historic jail building located on-site. We're currently restoring this piece of local history and hope to offer it as a unique Airbnb stay in the future. Stay tuned!
The campsite offers plenty of level ground for multiple RVs or campers, making it perfect for families or groups traveling together. For your convenience, we provide an electrical outlet, Wi-Fi, and a picnic table. While you'll have internet access at the campsite, cell service and Wi-Fi become very limited once you leave the immediate area, so plan accordingly.
Just next door is the local bar, a favorite gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Don't let the simple exterior fool you—inside you'll find friendly people, cold drinks, and great food during the warmer months. If Rex is cooking, be sure to try the famous Rex Burger!
Need groceries, fuel, or supplies? The Duck Valley Reservation, about 15 minutes north, has a grocery store, Ace Hardware, gas station, and health clinic. Elko is approximately 90 minutes away, while Boise is about a 2½-hour drive.
Nearby fishing destinations include Wild Horse Reservoir, Sheep Creek Reservoir, Dry Creek Reservoir, Manning Reservoir, and many other hidden gems throughout the area.

I was getting in just before dark and needed a spot to set up my tent quickly and get some rest without worrying about driving around searching forever. The spot was affordable and perfect for what I needed. Very pretty setting and quiet except for one brief song by some nearby coyotes. Roosters didn’t start crowing until after 7 am. Host was responsive and friendly. Definitely recommend!

This was an awesome stay! Took me a bit to find the campsite but host was very responsive and friendly. First time using Hipcamp to book a spot. I was solo with my dog and felt safe. You’re out on a ranch and there are only two sites so it can feel a bit remote but there was one other person with their dog. Woke up to some coyotes having dinner and star gazed. Cool spot I’d camp again

We had a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp! The location is perfect: close enough to explore Las Vegas, while still being far away from the noise and crowds. It was the ideal place to relax after a busy day.
The shared bathroom was exceptionally clean, and having access to a washing machine and dryer was a great bonus. The swimming pool was a highlight for our family — refreshing, very child-friendly, and a perfect way to cool down.
Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and generous. They gave us a tour of the vegetable garden, where we were allowed to pick fresh herbs. We also received fresh eggs and could pick delicious figs straight from the trees. The children loved the friendly dogs around the property.
The hospitality went above and beyond: our host even offered the kids fresh watermelon and kindly helped us with the barbecue. Small gestures like these made our stay truly special.
Please treat these hosts and this beautiful place with the respect it deserves, because this is a real hidden gem. We would happily come back!

My husband and I went through 11 states in 3 weeks and half pint was the best place we stayed. The couple that owned the place are wonderful. The bathroom with the washer and dryer was amazing after being in our pull trailer for weeks. The Cypress tree in the front is beautiful. Their little orchard with the ducks is fantastic. We appreciated the fresh fruits very much. We did leave a day early, but that was because it was 112 and we are not used to that heat. Having use of the pool was great and helped to cool us off. Also not having to pay $3 a load for laundry was truly a blessing. Over all, Half Pint is a fantastic, safe place to stay in a huge city. They are real close to the strip too. Thanks for the great stay!!

It was very conveniently located for us, as we were returning a rental RV to El Monte RV and they were right down the street. Hookups were great so we could run the A/C, and allowing us to use the toilet and shower helped since we'd already visited the dump station. Owner gave us a friendly tour of the farm; loved the grapes and ducks! We'd stay again if in the area!

The area is beautiful, Wendy was very communicative, and we were relieved at being able to find such a site.
I highly recommend this site for anyone who needs a safe spot to crash overnight (and doesn't mind stunning sunrise sights).
