So peaceful and serene in this little mountain oasis! Hidden away within the mountains, there’s so much to see and do. Hike through the mountains and even down to Colorado River. Rent kayaks at the property to drive them down, a 7 min drive off the property. Book an off road tour around the mountains and down to the river. Check out the world famous ghost town a few minutes away and even goon an underground mine tour. It’s pure bliss and joy. A reset, a rest. Available as a single person camping, all the way up to weekend retreats for the entire family. This property is secluded and in a remote area with limited cell service. AT&T and Verizon have limited service, other carriers do not. This property is accessible by off road vehicle only, otherwise you may park your car in parking which is 4-7 minutes away from your tent by our shuttle. Off road vehicle means a 4x4 to drive over a rocky trail. To access your tent, you will be required to schedule the shuttle for check in. A host will drive out to meet you to take you to your tent. Must be scheduled in advance. Check in is between 3pm and 9pm only. The host does not live on property and travels for your scheduled check in time.

If you are looking for outdoor activities, we are just minutes away from the Winnemucca Dunes OHV area (also great for hiking!), Water Canyon rec site, the Bloody Shins mountain biking trail system, and about an hour away from the Paradise Valley rock climbing area. Thank you for checking out the Mountain City Hunters Camping Fishing site. This camping site is located just south of the border of Idaho by 16 miles and in the northern tip of Nevada. It's in an isolated location surrounded by 1000 of acres of BLM and Indian reservation land. The beautiful property sits directly on the Owyhee River with barbwire ole fencing required to keep the cattle out. Please cross over at your own risk when fishing on the 2 acres of open property. There are tons of were there a few weeks ago 9/23 and picked up seven trouts in less than hours. Fun for all. There are tons of hunting spots in Idaho and Nevada in this area from Ducks, antelope, Deer, Elk, you call it! This site borders and just outside of the Duck Valley Reservation. We see hunters go up to Rio Tinto and across the Bridge to Nowhere, all within minutes of the Mtn city. The town of Mtn City is referred to as a Ghost town today. It was once busting with people back in the 1930's to 1977's with copper and silver mining in and and around the surrounding area. If you drive around, you will see ruined homes and mines that have been condemned now but it's certainly fun to take a hike or 4-wheel in the area and check it all out. Privacy, quiet, peace, and wild animals roam the area. Tons of hiking and off-roading trails everywhere can be found here. It's a quiet, peaceful area with a total of 14 very kind and helpful residents that live in town full-time. This camping area has a long 2 acres of running River along it for fishing. The water is low right now, FALL/WINTER 2023, because they are working on the dam which actually makes fishing better. Bring worms or even bacon. These fish are hungry. There is TONS of flat land on this site to serve several RV's and 1 POLE with 110 outlet, if needed. We have wifi for your convenience but once you leave the area, there is NO WIFI anywhere for many miles. A local small bar is located next to the property. It doesn't look like much from the outside but worth checking out. Great cold beer, whiskey, Bourbon just no wine can be found there. They also have a few slot machines and smoking is allowed inside. There is also food during the Late spring, summer, and early Fall after 5PM available for those who want a break. Rex runs this place and cooks the best. I recommend the Rex Burger. If you need a grocery store, gas, or even a few supplies, head north to Owyhee Reservation to the "Our Grocery or Ace Hardware". It is about a 15 min drive away. The closest city is Elko, 1.5 hours away, and or Boise 2.5 hours away. There is also a local health/urgent care in the town of Owyhee (Indian reservation) in case of emergency. Again, this is a very remote, private place many folks don't know about it. There is also several reservoirs with excellent fishing close by if you want to take a boat out there. Check out: Maning Reservoir Sheep Creek Reservoir Dry Creek Reservoir Wild horse Reservoir and many more. And the River is right on site. Please cross over the barbed wire on the property at your own risk. We are not responsible for getting yourself hooked up if that happens. There are spots you can pass through. Just be sure to leave the way it was when you leave, please. Well, we hope you consider this ole fun retreat and one more thing. The older building on the land is an old historic jail. We are working on it and in time we hope to Air B&B to use it. Give us another year for that. Enjoy, have fun, and be safe!

These sites are spaced widely apart, allowing guests to enjoy solitude and quiet while still being close enough to share meals and stories with others. Future upgrades will include a central communal area—a shared cooking and gathering spot where guests can meet, eat, and relax under the stars before retreating to their own camps for rest. Carons Hotsprings and Wally's Hotsprings are both accessible through community (Dart) Transit as well. With the help of my Father Steve, Sandy Gibson built the House of Gibson in 1983/1984. The tent site was perfect; it was very peaceful, with wonderful views in all directions. Wendy was super and offered to get us extra wood for the fire since the wood on site was a bit moist from recent rain. We would definitely camp here again!

2 nights at L.Davis Ranch and Olde LYFE Alpacas

Lovely, quiet place to camp, and of course the alpacas made it even more special. The heater made the tent plenty warm even though it was early November. Close to Carson and Virginia City, so we were able to explore. We would definitely return!

Cozy deck/lounging chairs with views of the sunset, stars and sunrise. Perfect morning coffee spot!

This place is so great! The location is a little adventure and the area is quiet and so chill. My friend and I enjoyed our stay and slept with our tent open. Coming from the Joshua Tree desert, we get a lot of critters... not here. Besides a super friendly chipmunk, don't think it was Chippy but he was a fun little buddy to watch as he explored our space.

1 night at Pine Nut Creek Ranch and Resort

Pinenut’s land was excluded, surrounded by a creek and the stars in the evening were Incredible! The owner met us when we arrived introduced us to their family and shared the history of the land and how it all came to be. We were welcomed with real hospitality, which was wonderful to experience during our specific time traveling the west. Ample wood, how water shower and grill with cooking tools provided. The fire pit was the best, we were looking for an all night fire, and were able to have one. The space we stayed felt comfortable and safe, as if we were in a sphere of our own world. The owners had a table , chairs and bell tent available. I enjoyed the friendly encounter, and helpful check in from the owner, and made sure we had everything we needed. I do know that I’ll be back to connect with the land as it’s all been blessed up after our stay. I recommend this spot for a couple wanting a cool experience, I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in spring time. We stayed in October, the fire kept us warm. The fire pit was the main highlight for us. Felt welcomed to be there, Pinenut land has great history and a good spot to have a sacred experience being under the stars and the beauty of the creek flowing at night. 10/10. Warrior

Nice spot, quiet, was nice to have power. Make sure to confirm the WiFi details. We couldn’t connect, which is normally not a big deal, but I missed the part of the instructions on how to access the river and couldn’t log onto the app to confirm. No cell service at spot. I wound definitely recommend though. Cristina was very responsive and helpful.

If you’re not comfortable with a long gravel road that changes over time, this might not be the journey for you. At times it was a bit bumpy a the road changes from smooth to washboard, but patient driving (and airing down a few psi) can help smooth it out. Once you arrive Jay is there to greet you. His chill vibe speaks volumes for what he’s building out there. It’s truly a beautiful space the likes of which I’ve never encountered before. We had ideal weather, a bit warm when we arrived with a light wind, cooling down nicely overnight. Endless stars and zero lights made for an epic setting. At a minimum you’ll get dusty but if you’re not getting a little dirty are you really camping?

This is a cute and charming glamping experience. You will be lovingly embraced by the furry creatures on the ranch. The glamping tent included a heating unit which worked great, as well as a barbecue grill, amble, flashlights, water, solar powered outlets to charge our phones, and much more. The breakfast was delicious, and the jams in the country store were great too. We happened to be there on a day where there was an alpaca festival, and that was so much fun. We also witnessed an alpaca giving birth. Stacy was super accommodating. We also got to meet some of the other farmers like Jim and Nancy, who is also a holistic energy healing practitioner and sound healer. We also had a really great sleep in nature.

This site was one of our favorites! Secluded, but there's a cute small town that is nearby-ish. Quiet and relaxing, we had a great time stargazing and relaxing in the chairs and picnic table. There was a huge hawk that flew by kinda close so we kept our small dog close by our sides.

We LOVED our stay here! We stayed in the tent with the queen bed and loveseat and it was perfect! We also had a hammock area outside of our tent and spent a lot of time just sitting out there relaxing. Rudy was great and showed us around the property when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone that is coming to the area.

Weekend Trip to Sleep with the Sheep

It was a great place to camp. The land owner Todd is very nice and the host Emily has thought of everything. It is a long dirt road ride but once you get to camp, your camp is all set up with a kitchen, a tent, the fire was just about lit. The sheep come and go as it is a sheep farm. Green grass and lots of trees. There is a train that goes by and let's you know how the economy is. Better economy more trains. I loved the trains. Definitely read the message in hip camp. It has directions and pictures to get out there. Just a couple of hours from Las Vegas, it was great to unplug and just be. Don't put the address in Google as it will take you a different route. It was great at the end to just pack my clothes and cooler and leave. All the set up and clean up is taken care of for you. Thank you Todd for the land and Emily for the camp, it was great to be there and enjoy the family.
