When the sun goes down over the Spring Mountains and Mount Charleston beautiful colors illuminate evening clouds. We are in somewhat of a rural area, so you might see bats in the evening, and bunnies in the morning. We have even seen coyote, owl, and of course lots of geese flying between golf courses in the morning during many months of the year. We are away from the city lights, so nighttime can be quite dark, but the moon can be a spectacular site in the night sky. Red Rock Canyon is 16 miles away. Many of our guests enjoy the scenic beauty or climbing opportunities in Red Rock. Nevada's newest state park, Ice Age Fossils State Park, is just a few miles away and offers a glimpse into prehistoric time in the region. If you enjoy ziplining then check out Slotzilla at Fremont Street or on the Las Vegas strip at the LINQ. Our Hipcamp comes equipped with water, electrical service (both 30amp and 50amp), and a sewer connection.

We have both a guest suite and several camping spaces available. It's a large property and we love to share it! If you are looking for outdoor activities, we are just minutes away from the Winnemucca Dunes OHV area (also great for hiking!), Water Canyon rec site, the Bloody Shins mountain biking trail system, and about an hour away from the Paradise Valley rock climbing area. We are 10 minutes from Winnemucca, about half way between Reno and Elko.

Thank you for checking out the Mountain City Hunters Camping Fishing site. This camping site is located just south of the border of Idaho by 16 miles and in the northern tip of Nevada. It's in an isolated location surrounded by 1000 of acres of BLM and Indian reservation land. The beautiful property sits directly on the Owyhee River with barbwire ole fencing required to keep the cattle out. Please cross over at your own risk when fishing on the 2 acres of open property. There are tons of were there a few weeks ago 9/23 and picked up seven trouts in less than hours. Fun for all. There are tons of hunting spots in Idaho and Nevada in this area from Ducks, antelope, Deer, Elk, you call it! This site borders and just outside of the Duck Valley Reservation. We see hunters go up to Rio Tinto and across the Bridge to Nowhere, all within minutes of the Mtn city. The town of Mtn City is referred to as a Ghost town today. It was once busting with people back in the 1930's to 1977's with copper and silver mining in and and around the surrounding area. If you drive around, you will see ruined homes and mines that have been condemned now but it's certainly fun to take a hike or 4-wheel in the area and check it all out. Privacy, quiet, peace, and wild animals roam the area. Tons of hiking and off-roading trails everywhere can be found here. It's a quiet, peaceful area with a total of 14 very kind and helpful residents that live in town full-time. This camping area has a long 2 acres of running River along it for fishing. The water is low right now, FALL/WINTER 2023, because they are working on the dam which actually makes fishing better. Bring worms or even bacon. These fish are hungry. There is TONS of flat land on this site to serve several RV's and 1 POLE with 110 outlet, if needed. We have wifi for your convenience but once you leave the area, there is NO WIFI anywhere for many miles. A local small bar is located next to the property. It doesn't look like much from the outside but worth checking out. Great cold beer, whiskey, Bourbon just no wine can be found there. They also have a few slot machines and smoking is allowed inside. There is also food during the Late spring, summer, and early Fall after 5PM available for those who want a break. Rex runs this place and cooks the best. I recommend the Rex Burger. If you need a grocery store, gas, or even a few supplies, head north to Owyhee Reservation to the "Our Grocery or Ace Hardware". It is about a 15 min drive away. The closest city is Elko, 1.5 hours away, and or Boise 2.5 hours away. There is also a local health/urgent care in the town of Owyhee (Indian reservation) in case of emergency. Again, this is a very remote, private place many folks don't know about it. There is also several reservoirs with excellent fishing close by if you want to take a boat out there. Check out: Maning Reservoir Sheep Creek Reservoir Dry Creek Reservoir Wild horse Reservoir and many more. And the River is right on site. Please cross over the barbed wire on the property at your own risk. We are not responsible for getting yourself hooked up if that happens. There are spots you can pass through. Just be sure to leave the way it was when you leave, please. Well, we hope you consider this ole fun retreat and one more thing. The older building on the land is an old historic jail. We are working on it and in time we hope to Air B&B to use it. Give us another year for that. Enjoy, have fun, and be safe!

Weekend Trip to Mom's RV Spot

Leo’s land was perfect for our last night after a long two weeks of dispersed camping. There was a fire pre-made just waiting to be lit, and Leo offered us coffee and hot chocolate the following morning. Leo was easy to talk to, and gave us some great recommendations for a future trip! We will highly recommend this spot to everyone we know traveling to the area.

My goal on this trip was to get off the hwy and see new things and new places. This was a great spot and just what I was looking for. The host was awesome and came out to make sure I found my spot since I did not arrive until way after dark.

This place is perfect! Only 45 minutes from home. We’ve been two seasons and can’t wait for spring. See you soon!! Definitely go. It is awesome to have a private space so close to the mountain. We love it!!!

We had a great stay at Leo’s place. He was a wonderful host! The spot was very large, well maintained and level with easy access to all hookups. Leo had a fire pit with all of the wood for fires throughout our stay, it was a great touch. Leo has chickens on his property and allowed our children to go over each day and help to feed and care for them, it really made the kids feel special and was such a great experience for them. We would absolutely recommend anyone to go and stay with Leo while in Vegas. Thank you for everything Leo!!

Weekend Trip to Beagletopia - Your Quiet Escape!

It was wonderful camping. close enough to civilization that I didn't have to worry if I forgot something, but far enough away that it was quiet all weekend - unless you don't like the sound of coyotes singing, and dark enough to sit out, watch the sunset, and enjoy a nice pour of Weller C.Y.P.B.. My trailer is 22 feet, so I would pull in, and still unhook, giving me a great view of the mountains. Some weekends, I just need to get away from the house and all the stuff, and I will certainly look for this spot.

We stayed here for 10 days with our class A RV and had a great experience! The site was private, peaceful, and really well kept. Full hookups worked perfectly, and you can tell Leo takes pride in keeping everything nice and tidy! Site was spacious and had everything we needed! Leo was awesome- super friendly, easy to talk to, and always happy to help with anything we needed! Felt like we were staying at a friends and we were super comfortable! We loved meeting Mackenzie the tiny yorkie and of course my favorite, the chickens! If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful site don’t hesitate to book here at Mom’s RV Spot.

Exactly as described - I didn’t get to meet the camel cause I was there so briefly (10p-6a for one night) BUT I admired both horses and alpacas! Would def stay again - without traffic it’s less than 10 mins from the airport. (Midday it would prob be like 16-17 min)

Nice spot, quiet, was nice to have power. Make sure to confirm the WiFi details. We couldn’t connect, which is normally not a big deal, but I missed the part of the instructions on how to access the river and couldn’t log onto the app to confirm. No cell service at spot. I wound definitely recommend though. Cristina was very responsive and helpful.

Leo’s land is very convenient located inside the city while also as quiet as in countryside. and the campsite is very sizable. Leo is very friendly and a generous host. We enjoyed the setting for firepit and the free firewood very much.

We absolutely loved camping here! The tent was set up so nice and way more roomy than expected. The views were incredible and we got to see the Milky Way one night we were there. We are already planning for another trip!

Leo's spot was great for our overnight stay. It was easy to get to and our spot was nicely arranged with a firepit and log seats to enjoy the evening. Leo is super friendly and welcoming ... made us feel right at home. We would definitely return. It would be a perfect quiet home base from which to explore the Las Vegas night life.
