No long, dusty gravel roads to travel to access this convenient campsite! We are just 91 miles south of Glacier National Park, making this a perfect over night spot to rest and regroup for whatever adventures lie ahead. You will experience some traffic noise due to the close proximity to the highway, however, later evening and early morning hours are fairly quiet. This open spacious area offers free choice parking with unobstructed views of the mountains.
Shade is unavailable, though evenings in Montana cool down quite nicely.
Post Creek, located just down the hill to the east, is home to a variety of wild life such as, White-tailed deer, EIK, Coyotes, Grizzly Bears, Bald Eagles, Hawks, Canadian Geese, Pheasants and Blue Heron to name a few!
This 13 acre private property is situated on the Flathead Indian Reservation of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. The area surrounding Post Creek is Tribal Conservation land and serves as a corridor for wildlife crossing over to the Ninepipes Wildlife Refuge (3 miles north and west of the camp site).
Tribal permits are required for fishing and recreating on the reservation. We are approximately 48 miles north of Missoula and 70 miles south of Kalispell. This would serve as a nice base camp if you wish to explore the numerous attractions nearby.
The Saint Ignatius Mission, National Bison range, McDonald Lake, Ninepipes Wildlife Refuge, and Flathead Lake (21 miles north) are all within a short drive from the camp site.
There are numerous little towns nearby that offer their own unique shops, restaurants craft breweries, music, entertainment, golf, and museums. Museums of early Montana is just 3 miles north right next to the Ninepipe Lodge, restaurant, bar, espresso and gift shop.

A fire ring will be provided and wood bundles are available on site for a small fee. Surface is mostly level, but may require minor leveling. Wheelchairs are welcome, but the site is not paved. You will be 3 miles from downtown Columbia Falls, 2 miles from two different fishing access sites on the Flathead River and 17 miles from West Glacier. Loved this place! So peaceful and quiet, I really relaxed. We even stayed an extra day. The hosts are lovely. Quickly reachable when you needed information or had questions and good to chat with. They also had great recommendations of things to do in the area.
The space is located in farmland, mostly hay as far as I could tell (I have no experience on farms though). The RV space is covered in gravel and surrounded by grass and other vegetation. This area could be spruced up a bit (cutting the grass down even though it probably grows back quickly). You don't always get full hook-ups on Hipcamp. This was only our 2nd where all 3 were available (both 30 & 50 amps too) and that was definitely a big plus.
Obviously, the big attraction in this area is Glacier National Park. This Hipcamp is very close to the West Entrance which made it really easy to get to. We only had about a 1/2 hour wait in line for our 1:00 entry ticket to Going-to-the Sun road. The drive on this road was absolutely spectacular! There are many other places to go within the park too. On our host's suggestion we went out the East side on the way back, which was no longer than taking the GTS-road again to get back to the West entrance. We did avoid the crush getting out of the park.
The only negative was that there's no garbage pickup in the farm area, so you need to drop off your garage at the local dump. It's about 3 miles away.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the privacy and peacefulness of the location. It had stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and it felt like a true hidden gem. The location was perfect for exploring Glacier National Park. It was so calm and relaxing here!
This spot had everything we needed, and more. If you’re looking for a peaceful, private, and beautiful place to stay while visiting Glacier, this is it.

I had a nice experience camping here. I briefly met the son that lives there, and got good vibes from him and his family.
Lots of space to yourself, and a great view of some mountains. It also right off of the road, so it was easy to hop back on track in the morning.
