Sprawling 20 acres set in the center of 4 lakes in the Helena Valley. 1 1/2 miles from Lakeside, a haven for boaters, swimmers, and not much further to Helena National Forest, and York. Lakeside offers a gas station, convenience store, and wonderful bar/restaurant. Several boat launches and walking paths are also in the area. 9 miles from Helena. Experience a beautiful Prairie setting with awesome sunsets, chickens, roosters, horses, guinea fowl, and stunning views of Hauser Lake and several mountain ranges. Talk to Granny Julie about our horses, chickens, guinea fowl, and other fun stuff to view at the farm! Animals do make noise, and we do have roosters. Guinea Fowl are watchdogs and alert to danger, so they can be noisy from time to time. Camping is not allowed at the access so we would be the closest camping site to this great outdoor playground. There is opportunity for fishing, floating, boating, hunting and swimming in the summer . There are groves of mature trees and open sites available. This is directly off of paved county road. The property adjacent to ours has the original ranch house and barn and other outbuildings that were part of the Ponderosa Pine Ranch which owned most of the valley we're in. The ranch house and buildings were divided away from our part of the property several years ago, so we have our home here and what was mostly pasture. The campsites are all pasture grass with trees for shade. We do not have cell phone service here. We have one site that has 30 amp electricity. Also we do not have trash service .

What a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the tranquility of a beautiful pastoral scene. On top of that the hosts, Vicki & Roger, were absolutely amazing. Very accommodating and there to help any way they could. Talking to them felt like talking to old friends. We were amazed at the history of their ranch as well as the history of Castle Town. If we head that way again, we will for sure stay at their wonderful place and be sure to visit with our old new friends.

Appreciated the power hookup. Was close to the road to the lake and there was a fair amount of traffic heading that way. Down by the lake was a dump station ($5). Also only 15 minutes to Helena. There is no water and the RV spot is not level but workable. besides a tiny rental home you get it to yourself. Oh but there is a trail cam on the tree by the RV spot so no peeing on his trees. What a beautiful location! A little bit of a drive north from I-90, but well worth it. Wonderful sunsets and all the stars! Chris was very friendly and a great host. The campsite was a good size. The portapotty and garbage were easy to get to. Ground was easy to stake a tent. We saw several deer, osprey, bats and pelicans. Would definitely stay here again!

My 2 pups and I enjoyed one night here with an amazing sunset and completely surrounded by country and stunning Mountain View’s. I didn’t want to stay in Bozeman as a solo traveler (Google it) and this was THE PERFECT solution. Quiet with very little dirt road noise and only heard a few planes taking out of Bozeman. Cows and their dropping are present, so if you aren’t a fan, go to a campground. Behind a residence and workshop with very little activity noticed.

What a perfect gem of a private spot! I needed to have a reset day on a long trip and plug into power and personally don’t like the crammed experience of rv parks (I’m in a campervan). I think another reviewer mentioned the view of the closeness of the mobile home and things around, and yes, you’ll see this when you first come in the driveway, but where you camp is private, covered by trees, and a little oasis. Patricia, the host, is completely lovely, quick to respond and be extra helpful. The stars at night incredible, and a walk across the street to have access to the river was priceless. I would definitely stay again!

It was an amazing time and experience at Chris’s property! A perfect getaway and I would highly recommend it for the solo traveler great for families looking to camp in Montana. I explored the hill side lots of deer and wildlife activity. 10/10

Beautiful, peaceful place to stay under the Montana night sky. The horses will keep you company and let you scratch their heads as long as you want. It's close to the quaint downtown of Townsend and the Missouri River. The host Mackenzie was FANTASTIC -- a great communicator and super helpful. Highly recommend!

It was absolutely breath taking. The views were spectacular. Quiet, private and local critters come by to say hi. Shawna kept in touch with us snd was just wonderful. Highly recommend her sites for camping.

This is a beautiful, quiet area, nestled below a rocky hillside. It is just a short distance from the highway, yet the topography blocks the noise from what little traffic passes by. Nicely arranged sites that are easy to back in to. We sought out this site for a return trip to the area because we loved it so much a year ago.
