This pristine camp spot is on our 5th generation cattle ranch and depending on the grazing schedule you may be serenaded by the sound of soothing "moo's" from our cow and calf pairs as you fall to sleep. Along with our cows, there are chickens and horses nearby, as well as multitudes of wildlife. Three couples of Trumpeter Swans call our pond home, as well as ducks, geese, loons, sandhill cranes, and a whole cascade of other bird varieties. Deer, grizzlies, black bear, badgers, elk, foxes, and rabbits also call our ranch home and can usually be spotted nearby. The camp site itself is along our pond. This pond unfortunately does not have any fish, but it is very relaxing to paddle a kayak or canoe in and out of the willow branches that surround it. You will have a quiet, serene and private location, hidden by the canopy of willows that grow along the pond. The views are spectacular and the nearby activities make this a great spot for any outdoor enthusiast!

It’s the original homestead land dated over 100 years ago where they farmed for there dairy cows and other livestock. This is right off a dead end road. This is a quiet secluded area there is a house near by, he is an older gentlemen you won’t even know he’s there. Depending on time of year there will be a field full of crop or the farm getting farmed. There very well could be some horses near by to pet!! Located 10 minutes from the lakes. 5 minutes from a reservoir. 10 minutes from town. 15 min to closest hiking areas. Helena really is the heart of fun very centralized for all directions of fun! Very easy pull in and pull out area. Please not there may be other campers enjoying as well Black Sandy State Park and Helena National Park are both under 15 miles away. Enjoy hiking and If you’re the boating type, head down the Missouri river in search of a rumored rope swing or jump off the boat for a dip in the crystal waters of Hauser Lake. Looking to avoid all the crowds or enjoy a solitary weekend under the endless Montana sky? Just head to Black Sandy during the winter months! It's rather large volume of water flows from several groups of canyons and drainages in the Little Belt mountains, bubbling out of the ground six miles up at the foot of the beautiful Vigilante canyon and terminating in the Missouri River three miles further down. Jamie's land was perfect for our last camping trip of the season. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful. It is close enough to downtown to be convenient, yet feels like you are out in the country. Jamie was super helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we are in Helena.

Lovely quiet spot. We had our dog so we took several walks - on the Host's land and along the quiet gravel road. Easy to find a flat spot to park. We had a great chat with the Host, who was quite helpful.

These folks were so kind, and finding the space was easy with their published directions. The space is well maintained, and wonderfully peaceful, especially once the traffic on the highway dies down. They even had firewood set out. Awesome.

We loved staying @ Mentzer Ranch. Calvin & Harriet were such kind & friendly hosts. We got to pet the cows and learn all about the ranch. Also, they have Wi-Fi, which was a surprise! Beautiful place , very calm highly recommended.

Tent camping on this pasture was GORGEOUS. The host was incredibly kind, communicative, and flexible. Our prior site fell through last minute and the host approved us staying within a few moments. Host is very transparent about amenities and GPS navigation. Would stay again!

1 night at Pipestone Ringingrocks Rv & Cabins

Clean and quiet. Close to Ringing Rocks and tons of ATV trails. No hookups but water is available at a spigot. Sites are graveled and have a picnic table, a couple of chairs and a fire pit. Watch out for catus if you get off the established roads and gravel pads. We camped there on 8/6/2025 with a 30-foot 5th wheel. Rigs of any size are OK. Most sites are back-in, but a couple of sites are pull through. Don't be surprised when you see the extra cost for the HipCamp fees.

2 nights at Helena West Side Wonder!

We very much enjoyed camping on Annette's land. It's close to trails and downtown Helena. We parked and used our bikes and ebikes to get around. The spot is tucked into trees on a quiet rural street. We found Helena to be very charming and welcoming. We spent an afternoon at Broadwater Hot Springs, just a few miles away. $17 day use fee and you can use their various pools, sauna, and gym. Poolside snack service too!

1 night at York Montana Hideaway

This is our second time this summer on Christian's land, so obviously it's a big thumbs up! Christian is a super great and amiable host who enjoys sharing this little paradise; Campsite was on lush green grass adjacent to a perennial spring-fed creek. Lots of birds and wild flowers! This is a beautiful location, but please be sure you are 100% self-contained as there is no power, or waste disposal. Overall, one of the nicest places We've hipcamped in Montana!
