This property is so beautiful and peaceful out here at night. Seasonal Spring fed pond, Ponderosa pine trees, fallen white birch, rustic and gorgeous. Some of my camp spots are on rough terrain. I always suggest you get out and walk around to see what you can manage with your vehicle. The idea of my place is more wilderness camping, there is wildlife that comes around. RV camp spots on the east and west end of the pond. Camp spot out by the wooden round pen on the west side. Completely private, borders 2000 acres of a bird sanctuary. Two blocks from Bitterroot river canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swim, trails, hiking, scenery, wildlife. My pond is spring fed, which means that is goes up and down with the seasons and run off from the snow in the mountains and collects cotton from the trees when they shed. So as the summer goes on the pond levels go way down, please be aware of that.

This pristine camp spot is on our 5th generation cattle ranch and depending on the grazing schedule you may be serenaded by the sound of soothing "moo's" from our cow and calf pairs as you fall to sleep. Along with our cows, there are chickens and horses nearby, as well as multitudes of wildlife. Three couples of Trumpeter Swans call our pond home, as well as ducks, geese, loons, sandhill cranes, and a whole cascade of other bird varieties. Deer, grizzlies, black bear, badgers, elk, foxes, and rabbits also call our ranch home and can usually be spotted nearby. The camp site itself is along our pond. This pond unfortunately does not have any fish, but it is very relaxing to paddle a kayak or canoe in and out of the willow branches that surround it. You will have a quiet, serene and private location, hidden by the canopy of willows that grow along the pond. Weekend Trip to Blue Mountain BaseCamp

Amanda's place was perfect for our trip. We just needed a simple quiet place to roost for the eve. It was out of traffic, no trains like the commercial RV parks near by. We will probably be back if available. We were able to back our 32ft tow behind camp trailer right in and pull out with out any crazy maneuvers.

Great stop over spot right off the interstate. We rolled in after dark and still found it without issue. Taller vehicles be aware there are some low hanging branches but they are pretty bendy so I pushed through just fine. The entrance to field number 1 was pretty tight for our travel trailer. The car parked next to the garage meant I had to take it slow and watch my mirrors. But for the price, totally worth it.

Listen to those reviews because they are RIGHT! Booked a month ahead as we are on a long roadtrip. This place did not disappoint one bit and Dolly was an absolute gem! Maybe the porta potty is a complaint in other reviews but it’s super well maintained and clean. This is NOT a bougie campground. It is real camping. Hope to make it back again soon and excited to see the additions Dolly wants to make! Xoxo

We had a great stay at James' land. We're on a long road trip and stayed here for a night before moving on and it was exactly as described and James was very easy to communicate with. The views were incredible and the add-ons of his farmed meat and eggs were a huge bonus!

Nice clean spot for a quick stop over. You can hear the highway traffic but it did bother us. We had the lower meadow to ourselves. A little tight getting through the gate with a car sitting there but actually had plenty of room. Beautiful view out or back window.

This was a great spot! We stayed for a week and loved it. Peaceful and clean. James is a great host and has lots of yummy meats and eggs to sell too! Highly recommend it and we would stay here again for sure!

Rainbow Gulch was an amazing experience! My pup and I loved it. Away from city lights, the sky is breathtaking- and the stars light it up at night! Very clean and well maintained pasture, with a local market only minutes away that has anything you'd need for your stay! Highly recommend staying here. :)

We have now stayed here twice. Great spot close to the interstate. Nothing but a field with a little bit of a slope but it's been exactly what we needed both times. Thankful for Rainbow Gulch Farm.

We loved staying @ Mentzer Ranch. Calvin & Harriet were such kind & friendly hosts. We got to pet the cows and learn all about the ranch. Also, they have Wi-Fi, which was a surprise! Beautiful place , very calm highly recommended.

What a beautiful view!! We really enjoyed this spot. It seemed very private and had unbelievable views of the Bitterroot mountains. Don’t let the rough road and questionable bridge deter you. Just take it slow. We made it with our 35 ft fifth wheel and double towing an ATV trailer with no problems. And the pull-through site that James created was perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again.
