Completely wooded at the time of purchase, the farm is still a work in progress. Daily farm life involves upgrading fences, clearing the 5-acre pasture, building animal pens, installing rain catchment systems, composting, harvesting, canning, baking and our favorite....... feeding the feathered friends.

All You Need is a 111 acre paradise that is home to some VERY unique and endangered habitat. Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks.
The sandhills are a "desert in the rain," home to prickly pear cactus and yuccas, abundant lichens (deer "moss"), the endangered black pine snake, and our mascot, the also endangered Gopher Tortoise.
We're a nature education and retreat center where we share permaculture practices, homesteading/sustainable living skills, conservation practices, and approaches to connecting more deeply to the land. Check out our sister non-profit, the Burrow Nature Center.
You will have access to our many walking paths and our swimming pond, as well as a 15 minute walk to part of DeSoto National Forest, which butts up to our property line.
We would love to have you as our guest on the land, and are especially eager to meet travelers who deeply love nature and want to live in better relationship to it!

You’re welcome to go fishing we have, brackish water even blue crabs 🦀 it does require a license. Welcome to bring your boat launch is about a mile away off the 603. You can leave it docked in our yard. Under the house, there is table and chairs to enjoy the cool breeze. There is an outside cold water, shower, and a sink with cold water. One outlet to charge your phone is all the electricity available. I just had a toilet installed also under the house..

Campers can pick blueberries when they are in season (June-July)--limit 2 pints per site per day. Wildlife is abundant. You will hear owls and coyotes at night. Often bald eagles can be spotted at both lakes. Other wildlife you may see: deer, wild turkey, raccoons, opossums, fox, bobcat, coyote, rabbits, armadillo, otter, and squirrels. Please do not approach the wild animals! There is a pretty creek for those who like to creek walk. Petrified wood can be picked up in the creek bed. Had a wonderful stay while we were there! We had to very suddenly evacuate our house in Florida when the hurricane hit us dead on so Askew’s was just out of the path of the storm. We were able to book last minute and Craig was super responsive and helpful in making sure we got what we needed. The girls at the desk were also absolutely phenomenal! The campground was super cool! It’s got killer fishing in the pond/lake, there’s all kinds of kid friendly stuff to do, they have events and activities, and it’s just a beautiful little spot tucked away far enough off the interstate that you can’t hear a thing. Many of the spots are 30 amp, quite a few don’t have sewer, but they have a decent amount of 50 amp w sewer spots though! We had a great stay and the staff were just incredibly helpful with us while we dealt with such a terrible ordeal with hurricane Isiais, which absolutely trashed everything. Thank you everyone at Askew’s!

Weekend Trip to All You Need Institute
This is truly a hidden gem, and I'm so grateful we stumbled upon it. We reserved a Glamping tent and were shocked how much space it had inside, with comfortable beds and linens. There was an event going on during our stay and everyone we met was kind and welcoming. Despite there being many other campers, the campsite itself was so incredibly private. Just what we needed to recharge and we will be returning!
