All You Need is a 111 acre paradise that is home to some VERY unique and endangered habitat. Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks. The sandhills are a "desert in the rain," home to prickly pear cactus and yuccas, abundant lichens (deer "moss"), the endangered black pine snake, and our mascot, the also endangered Gopher Tortoise. We're a nature education and retreat center where we share permaculture practices, homesteading/sustainable living skills, conservation practices, and approaches to connecting more deeply to the land. Check out our sister non-profit, the Burrow Nature Center. You will have access to our many walking paths and our swimming pond, as well as a 15 minute walk to part of DeSoto National Forest, which butts up to our property line. We would love to have you as our guest on the land, and are especially eager to meet travelers who deeply love nature and want to live in better relationship to it! Our stay was out of the ordinary! It rained and poured and everyone lost power, however that did not stop our host from making sure that we had adequate directions got set up properly and even size off to our next stop. I would definitely recommend this location and totally give it five stars.

This site is extraordinary : beautiful lake with a walk around path. John has made a specific place with an exclusive living room, a kitchenette and fridge next to the shower and toilets for use by the guests. Everything neat and comfortable. The campsite with hookups is very nice and with a stone table and chairs under beautiful trees. Horses and chiken are so friendly and not too far. We really enjoyed this moment of calm and rest. Thanks for all this very nice place.

An amazing stay near the end of the Nachez Trace Parkway. Highly recommend! John and his wife were very welcoming and their little horse farm complete with cats, chickens and purple martins is beautiful. The shower and screened bath house was clean and very relaxing.

We only spent one night here, but loved the good communication, and easy level parking here. We were able to stroll over to the pond to watch the sunset from the swinging benches, and again in the morning to greet the farm animals and birds visiting the nests. Its a sweet spot, wish we could have stayed longer.

Awesome place to stay right across from the gulf with beautiful water views. We stayed poolside and it wasn't very busy at all (before schools out for the summer) laundry and showers located right next to our site. We had a great time. Very convenient location of Hwy 90. A must stay.
