Belle Creek Bluff is on 28 acres of prime land in Welch. Belle Creek runs through the middle of the property. Walk, swim, paddle, fish and explore the this beautiful spring fed trout stream. There are a number of hiking trails on the property. Bordering state lands to the east of the property provide endless exploration and hiking adventures. Hike to the top of the bluff for a spectacular view of Welch valley and the ski hill. Hiking NE along Belle Creek can you spot the old model A truck along the banks? There are eagles, falcons, finches, and many colorful birds to see.

Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! They hope you enjoy their place as much as they do! Feel free to ask them to show you around or even get your hands dirty with them as they plant or harvest.

Weekend Trip to Belle Creek Bluff

Such a beautiful location, we felt so secluded! We saw deer, an eagle and a little downy woodpecker gave us a show on a tree just outside the screened in porch which was a favorite spot for our morning coffee and to listen to the rain. So peaceful . The water crossing was indeed a challenge with glacier cold water I decided to take a wrong step on a slippery rock and do a face plant in the cold water! With pretty much only my pride hurt (and a video my hubby happened to be taking of me at the time) it definitely made a memorable trip! We would definitely come back! And I were not to step now! ;)

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people. It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt. Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

We had a great time. The adventure crossing the stream was fun for the kids. Felt very private at the cabin spot. The short trails to hike around were fun and the kids explored and were very excited when they found the old car in the woods. Would definitely recommend!

Dan is a wonderful host and owns some absolutely gorgeous land. I will be back! Be prepared for a small but beautiful hike out to your camp site. Bathrooms are as good as it gets, tents are huge and the bonus of not needing to setup is amazing, and the access to one of the most beautiful state parks is uncanny. If you have the legs for it I would absolutely recommend touring this area on bike. The descent into Taylor’s falls is one of the best in the state, the climb out of the city will have your legs woken up, and the nearby Swedish Immigrant Trail is beautiful especially in the Fall.

We really enjoyed our time at the cabin at Belle Creek Bluff. A great mix of roughing it while having a shelter for sleeping, playing board games at night, and getting away from bugs if needed (there weren't that many). Fording the stream was a highlight, adding a sense of adventure and seclusion. Even though there were other campers on the property, we rarely heard or saw them. The surroundings were beautiful and the firepit area was a great place for cooking and campfire discussions. Would definitely go back here again!

2 nights at Belle Creek Bluff

I came to Belle Creek Bluff on a solo camping trip, and I loved it 😭 At the Green Canopy site, there are multiple short trails into the woods that you can use to gather downed wood. The cabin area is shady, with dappled light in the daytime. For full sun, there’s a large grassy area between the creek and the cabin that’s also perfect for stargazing at night. My favorite part of the trip was kayaking! They have a little supply station set up outside the blue campsite (there are 3 campsites, color coded by blue, yellow, and green, which is also the order in which you come across them as you drive in). That supply station is where you’ll find a couple kayaks & paddles, life vests, luggable loos, firewood for $1/piece, etc. After lugging your kayak to your campsite, you can paddle upstream—heads-up: you’ll be pulling the kayak over the very shallow areas—and float back down to your site (JT recommended this idea to me!). The entire site is well-kept, inc the outhouse. I miss Belle Creek already and only wish I’d booked a longer stay <3

This is more than just camping! Dan is a wonderful host and my 10 year old loved talking with him and learning about the orchard. This was a mother/son trip and I loved having the yurt already set up. It is a little walk to the site, but I appreciated God's beauty in the early morning and at dusk to fetch our food that we left in the car. Being at Stone Creek Farm was so much more than we expected. Looking forward to visiting again! Highly recommended!

10/10! We arrived at night which made arrival extra exciting. But it was worth it to have more time and fully enjoy the creek. Amazing bird watching, fun to fish and my dog had the time of his life. My only regret was packing lighter and taking more time off of work. ;)

Felt remote without being in the back woods. Easy drive from road to parking. We had a lot of rain and stayed nice and dry in the cabin with it's screen porch. Would recommend bringing bright lights as it can be a bit dark if cloudy. Nice and clean. Wagon was a blessing for getting a few things over the creek. Nice paths mowed for walking throughout the property. Lots of birds and the creek as a soundtrack.

Yes, you have to cross the river to get to this cabin in the woods. Try it at night just for fun. You wake up take your folding chairs and sit in the river and enjoy.

I absolutely loved this place. The sites are very private and perfectly spaced. Feels like you're alone aside from seeing other campers while looking upstream.The cabin is by far the best of the 3 sites if you have the ability to haul your stuff across the river and up a small hill. They even provide a cart for you to make the trek! The cabin was simple but clean. You can purchase firewood but with the trails around this site, it was very easy to find downed trees/branches. It is somewhat picked over near the cabin but a short trip up the hill was lucritive. There were very few mosquitos. I don't wear bug spray so I brought 2 thermacells and kept them going and barely saw any bugs. The River water is very clean and refreshing. Bring a chair to sit in it! The owners were accommodating in letting me bring my small travel trailer to the parking site. I didn't sleep in the cabin but had I known it's excellent condition I would have left the squaredrop at home. Book early. These sites are picked over for good reason!

Rented the cabin with a friend and her kids, the kids had a blast. No one around so they could run and play as loud as they wanted. Our dog loved running off leash like a wild woman! We jumped in the creek and played around that felt great. Only thing I would have done different was to pack lighter and bring a big lantern.
