We bought this property in 2012 and have built several buildings and forged paths throughout the 32 acres. Our road is part of the North Country Trail, a footpath stretching over 4,600 miles from Middlebury in central Vermont to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. While tearing down the existing house, we constructed two bedrooms in the pole barn for a quick living space. Once settled in the pole barn, we a built a small log cabin with already felled timbers from the local woods, except for the box frame which was purchased from the local Amish. Prior to building our permanent log cabin home, this small cabin was our camp site and is now being rented to people that want to relax and enjoy the outdoors. In the middle of the woods, we created a campground to be enjoyed by hikers and on the North side of our property is a tree line between two fields that is a great small camper/tent camping spot.

This overnight worked great for us. The little compound was beautifully planned and built and very accommodating - creative details everywhere, a firepit with cooking grate, a little roof over the bench by the fire, dry firewood. I liked the the little building with the sleeping berths so much I'm thinking about building one myself. The hosts were super nice, interesting people and I enjoyed getting to know them. I hope to be back.

Stayed here this past weekend with a friend and loved it! The site is beautifully maintained, right next to a peaceful pond. It feels secluded with very little road traffic, yet the owner is nearby if you need anything. The spot is thoughtfully set up with a swim area, campfire, picnic table, toilet bucket, bags, and even paper towels ready for use. Highly recommend for a relaxing, hassle-free camping getaway!

When we realized our initial site was closer to the house than we expected, she didn’t hesitate to help. She immediately offered us a more private, supported site, making sure we were completely comfortable. Robyn truly went above and beyond—she brought us fresh eggs, got us worms for fishing, let us use the paddle boat, and even personally drove us to go kayaking down the river! She was so thoughtful, sweet, and accommodating every step of the way. Her genuine care and hospitality made our trip so special. We felt so welcomed the entire time, and we definitely plan on coming back. This place, and Robyn, are simply the best!

Beautiful land, wonderful hosts! I loved being surrounded by trees and nature and not other camp sights like at the public campgrounds. Ann and her husband were the perfect mix of responsive and available, yet we felt secluded. There are mowed trails and our dog enjoyed splashing in the shallow river. While the listing says there is no picnic table, we ended up not needing the folding table we brought because there is plenty of “counter” space built around the fire pit area. We hope to rent the cabin with the wood burning stove in the winter.

Wow! My boyfriend and I wanted a peaceful time away from home, and boy did we get it! The pond was so clean, the property so nicely kept, and we were even provided toilet paper, which we forgot, so that was a total bonus. PLENTY of firewood and we had a fire going most of our visit! My favorite place to camp so far, and I don't see how anywhere else will ever beat this. So peaceful and serene. Almost no traffic in the area, the pond was well kept, beautiful, and refreshing because we are end of season. Got nibbled by a frog which was a surprise. Firewood was plentiful and kept us warm at night. Thank you so much for letting us stay, we would really like to come back again.

I loved camping here. The property is beautiful! Easy to get to. Lots of amenities! The mosquitos by the pond weren't too bad, I'm assuming the 1 billion frogs in each pond eat them all. Just be careful where you set up your tent between the ponds. I staked mine down and then realized the tree above it was leaning significantly towards the tent. Luckily there wasn't any strong wind or storms that had me too worried. My dog loved running around off leash too!

We have lots of fun things planned for the property and will be making improvements as we go! Thank you for being apart of the journey. Learn more about this land: Our little slice of heaven is nestled back off the country road- with over 30 acres, we have a couple of old horse pastures and barns, a beautiful grassy area that has a large fire pit and a natural pond. Some wood is provided for your initial fire; more can be purchased from us for $5 per bundle. We have basic electricity, a country swing, a dock if you would like to fish- we also have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe. The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself. While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30 ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, with limited size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked. We are very close to several rivers in the area, so bring your kayaks, or inner tubes and float down the rivers for a peaceful afternoon. We’re not too far from Lake Michigan (easy day trip), Kalamazoo or Lansing, Several breweries in the area- (Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Marshall) as well as a casino (Marshall). We are in a very nice happy medium to a lot of Michigan favorite spots. Come and enjoy the quiet country- and get some amazing star lit skies. Ask about our “glamping” set up, for an additional fee We can accommodate large groups, or family gatherings. Large groups (over 10) must add on an additional portable toilet to their stay (seasonal only We have an open air shower (see photos) that is cold water- but can be hot on sunny days. We also have a sink area. Well trained- recall ready pets are welcomed- please pick up after your pet. We do have free range ducks that use the pond- who should be respected. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. It can also take a larger RV. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

This is a 3rd generation "Family Farm" of a different sort I suppose. Seems there's a bit of everything here, and arguably not enough of anything. At least for conventional farming. So we've learned to do things a bit differently.Our main crop is wine and juice grapes since our topography, climate, and soil type makes it a premier location for that. But with 30+ acres of forested hillsides, low ground, and natural areas we've evolved into a mixed farm and forest enterprise. Our goal is to utilize the productivity of all our property while still retaining the basic character and usefulness of the wild areas. Letting each thing be what it wants to be and does best on it's own. Flow, not force.So our year starts early with tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. Plus there's grape trimming about this time as well. When the forest floor starts to green up a bit later, we start digging Ramps, or Wild Leeks in the woods. Most of these will go to the more trendy Chicago restaurants, but we also have some local sales. Next comes inoculating winter-cut logs with Shiitake spawn for next years mushroom production. This year we also conducted a few hands-on workshop seminars on mushroom growing as well. Then it's on to our raised bed herb & veggie gardens. (Fresh herbs are just so much fun to cook with!) We grow enough for our own yearly use, as well as some for direct sales. Summer keeps us busy tending all the different crops here and trying to keep up. But there's that steady progression of fresh veggies to eat. Yum !!! Fall brings our annual Grape U-Pick in September and October. And we try to time related crops like mums, pumpkins, and gourds for this same time frame. Makes the place a bit more interesting. Late fall is when we bring in firewood to heat the house and workshop. Stacks of wood everywhere. Hopefully before the 1st snow. In winter it's time to fire up the woodworking shop and be a bit creative. Build furniture, equipment maintenance, who knows what next years projects will include. I like to keep everybody guessing.So, that's what goes on here. You're welcome to check it out, lend a hand, relax back at camp, walk the vineyards and/or forest, or just breathe and relax. That's up to you. But I would recommend visiting a few of the fine local wineries. Seems there's a festival going on at one or another of them just about every weekend. Good music, good wine, good times. And there's the Lake Michigan beaches a few miles down the road.Yeah, this is a pretty casual place here, love meeting new people, very open to civil discussions of all sorts.However, rude, ill mannered people will probably enjoy staying elsewhere. We bought this property in 2012 and have built several buildings and forged paths throughout the 32 acres. Our road is part of the North Country Trail, a footpath stretching over 4,600 miles from Middlebury in central Vermont to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. While tearing down the existing house, we constructed two bedrooms in the pole barn for a quick living space. Once settled in the pole barn, we a built a small log cabin with already felled timbers from the local woods, except for the box frame which was purchased from the local Amish. But this property is surrounded by wood lots and open fields. Two neighbors houses are visible but separated by trees. Our house is visible from the pond and camping area.

We have basic electricity, a country swing, a dock if you would like to fish- we also have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe. The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself. While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30 ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, with limited size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked. The shimmering waters of Miller lake adorn the property’s southern border. Deer, wild turkey, swans, sandhill cranes, beaver, and occasional fox are but few of the residents who live here. Come and enjoy the peace and serenity, rest and relaxation of Our Daily Bread. We offer a place for families and individuals to come and feel safe and enjoy some quiet time... away from the hustle and bustle of life. We have lots of trails for hiking, a playground for kids, and lots of seating areas to rest and relax. We are an alcohol and smoke free campus, and don't allow foul language, parties or any disturbances to other guests.... as we value the satisfaction and peaceful experience here for all our guests. We do not allow pets for our cabin guests, and we're also a smoke and alcohol free campus. We have boats for rent (kayaks, canoes, row boats, paddle boats). This is not for everyone, but if you want to come and commune with nature and enjoy some peace and quiet, then this is the spot for you! Our goal to provide a peaceful, quiet ambiance for all our guests and so we don’t allow loud music and we require adherence of our quiet hours from 10pm to 10 am. If you’re using a generator, please run it during the day until 10pm, so that it’s not running all through the night.
