Weekend Trip to Billy’s Place in the Woods

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin in the woods. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, even checking in during my stay to make sure everything was comfortable. The cabin is very clean, spacious, and well-equipped—with a fire pit, picnic table, three beds, and an outhouse. Despite the temperature dropping to 29°F one night, I stayed warm and comfortable in the dry cabin without needing the propane heater provided. I traveled with two small dogs and felt completely safe. Cooking on-site and having a fire was easy—the host even provided wood, flashlights, complimentary candy, a broom, and a vacuum. The solar panels provided good lighting, and communication was prompt and helpful. Everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-prepared getaway.

Had a great stay! The pop-up camper is newer, very cozy, and clean. It was the dead of a very hot summer and I was still pretty cool at night. Richard was a kind and very helpful host -immediately took care of everything I needed. Site is in his large backyard, steps from the Little Manistee river. I'm a fly fishermen and got in a few hours of fishing during just a one night stay. Decent hole with Brown Trout and smallmouth right next to the site. Overall great experience.

Wow. This place is really special. The camper you stay in is really cute, cozy and has a large porch overlooking the woods. The property itself is beautiful with a creek and trails running through it. Susan was a great host and even provided us fresh eggs and cucumbers! 10/10 I would definitely stay here again.

I would highly recommend the cottage! If you are looking for a rustic type spot and your own place without dealing with other people around, this is the place!! The owner is very kind and accommodating. He had firewood for us, bottled water and brought a canopy/pavillion over because it was raining. Very friendly!! It is set back in the woods and the cabin was very clean. It has a picnic table and cute little fire pit area as well as a open top charcoal grill. We got to see deer and hear the amazing sounds of the wildlife. Had an amazing time, thank you Billy’s Place cabin #1 😁

I really enjoyed my stay at Susan's camper. She is a thoughtful host and provided us with the freshest cucumbers and eggs. The deck was the perfect spot to sit and watch the rain come in. My dog loved the property, and the air conditioning unit was a welcome relief during the heat of summer. Richard was a great host. As a solo camper, I was nervous going out alone but Richard was very kind and gave me plenty of tips for fishing. He left me to do my thing which I appreciated. Even though it was hot, I still managed to get on a ton of fish. Fantastic spot if you are looking to get on some fish. Mosquitoes weren’t a problem!

Richard was so flexible and open to letting us stay on his property on such short notice. Everything was set up for us; he even stayed around to show us the land once we got there. So peaceful, and still felt cool on the hottest days with the fans in the camper, which is also really nice. The outhouse is well taken care of; just bring some hand sanitizer with you!! Richard was very kind and super cool and we definitely want to go back to him and explore some more!
