This property was once part of an 80 acre farm. It has now grown into a mature forest with deer, turkey, squirrels, chipmunks, many types of songbirds and most recently a family of sandhill cranes. Our most recent improvement is an air conditioner in the Crow's Nest. Sheila grew up just across the road and spent many hours riding her horse and writing poetry on the property. No discharge of firearms is allowed on this property. As a retired artist, we love to entertain creative peaceful people and many think of our place as a quiet sanctuary that encourages creativity. We provide games, both outdoor and indoor, a screen house, hammock, nature trails and a new camp store with local items and snacks. There is an Amish community close by and a tour map is provided. We are also close to the largest canopy walk in the US at Whiting Forest and Dow Gardens. Only 25 minutes away. There is a small water park in the closest town with a beach. Locally there is tubing and canoeing at the Cedar River in Gladwin and kayaking at Pinconning Park on Saginaw Bay. Guests can explore many antique shops as well as Pinconna and Northwoods Outlet store. Many of our campers never leave the property but choose to relax and watch the life of the forest. We provide linens, towels, and cookware. There is a grill outside and a microwave and oven inside along with a coffee maker and mini fridge.

We are across the street from Little Long lake and right up the road from Budd Lake public boat launches. We have deeded lake access to Little Long Lake with use of our paddle boat and kayaks. We can provide parking with a boat, trailer, etc., but will need to be arranged prior to check-in. There are several restaurants, delivery options, and a grocery store right down the road. There is also a putt putt golf, skiing and snow tubing at Snow Snake, arcade, batting cages, bowling, indoor golf, ax throwing, beaches and Wilson State Park. If you have side-by-sides, quads, jeeps, snowmobiles, or dirt bikes, there are endless options with groomed trails in the area for you to ride all day long. Our property has two cabins on property, the Harrison Hideaway cabin and Wanderer's Hideaway that can be rented together for larger groups or rented separately. Weekend Trip to Dingle Dangle Acres

This is an amazing cabin with all the amenities a person could ever think of. It really felt like I was staying in my super cool aunts cabin who knew I needed a long break. The land was beautiful, the cabin had so many wonderful cooking options from nice stainless steel to cast iron and easy to use air fryer. Plus a good portion of spices. The beds were so comfy! I need to find out what pillow topper she uses. Was easy to clean with all the mops and scrubs, which is essential when you got doggies. Speaking of doggies, it is hard to ware out a shepherd and a black lab, they slept like logs both nights. They both have pretty good recall, so giving them the opportunity to really run in the woods, around the cleared out area nearby the cabin, and pond was fun for them. It is private, beautifully dark at night so you can see the stars so well. The nearby town of tawas was fantastic. And stop at Joe's Market on the way in on 65 and get the best cut of meat and great sweet corn. Good internet too! So you can post all the pictures to make your friends jealous. Seriously relaxing and incredibly enjoyable. Might even be back next weekend.

Weekend Trip to "Elysium Heritage Farm"

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. My son, daughter in law and grandbaby enjoyed hours watching the turtles and fish, walking the trails and meeting the farm animals while learning about Elysiums history. Will always remember morning coffee on the porch, baby's first campfire and playing Frisbee behind the cabin. We hope to return next year!

We loved everything about this place! We were welcomed by beautiful lights along the boardwalk that led right to The Crow’s Nest. Sheila has everything you could need in this amazing little cabin.

This Hipcamp was the perfect retreat for a quiet weekend in the woods. It was cozy, comfortable, and it had everything we needed. Sheila and Jeff were friendly and welcoming while also giving us privacy. There is a path through the woods that was a good length for a slow meditation. We will be visiting again!

Weekend Trip to Nature's Nest

We absolutely loved staying at Nature's nest cabin, the A Frame cabin itself was great, very cool interior space. The view onto the lake was spectacular. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Great restaurants in the town itself were great, the state park, not far away by car is stunning with its sandy beach and lighthouse, I highly recommend Nature's nest, for a relaxing break

Sheila and Jeff are fantastic, welcoming hosts! I loved chatting and getting to know them. When I went out and about, they gave me great recommendations for routes and places to stop. It was fairly rainy and wet during my stay, but I loved the cozy, dry warmth of the Crow's Nest and definitely recommend it to others!

We enjoyed the cabin stay on Lake Huron. Great views and a great time plenty of awesome local restaurants within 30 minute drive too! Kitchen was great plenty of room to cook great meals. Would recommend staying !
