Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife.Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are provision family farms because we provide for our animals even as we are provided for. Drop on in at the house and we may have time for a little tour.In the woods is a small composting toilet, but you're welcome to fertilize our pastures anytime. There's also a shower available in the house.The best time to visit Michigan forests is in October when the leaves turn color and the nights are cool. My children and I had enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Provision Family Farms! Luke was friendy and helpful, and the Treehouse campsite was beautiful. We ended up sleeping in tents because my kids were convinced that the sound of acorns falling in the roof of the tree house was some sort of malevolent forest creature.
Highlights for us: We enjoyed seeing the farm animals, and the composting toilet station was beautifully designed and maintained.

Group trip
My friends and I had the best time staying at the treehouse last week. The location is peaceful and beautiful, with a grocery store nearby. The treehouse is cozy and stocked with everything you could need.
Before we left we got a tour of the family farm from the kids. The family is a wonderful group of welcoming, kind, and incredibly fun people. This was the highlight of our already fantastic stay! Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Staying at Luke's tree house was a magical experience I will never forget. Truly, this is a one of a kind hip camp, complete with all the creature comforts you could ever need; a camping stove, water, power charging box, and shower. The best part was the hospitality of Luke's family, who showed us around their regenerative farm!

The treehouse was fun and safe. Communication with the hosts was easy and warm. The farm has lots of animals. If you are sound sensitive when you sleep, know that the treehouse makes noise in the wind and as the siding cools at night. The bathroom shed is about 40 yards from the treehouse. I bought pork to take to my family. A sweet spot.

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
Delightful, magical treehouse that comes with a set of naughty black sheep. For a rustic tree house, it is thoughtful and well planned. We brought our own mosquito nets and twinkly lights but there was lighters, lanterns, and wood available. Our sheep greeted us at the gate everytime we came home and stopped by for breakfast. There were horses and pigs and Billy goats. Quiet, restful, and relaxing. Wish we had booked longer.

We loved crossing “camping in a treehouse” off our bucket list here at Lothlorien Flet! We were greeted with kindness and hospitality, and although our hosts were present and ready to help, we definitely felt a level of privacy that can be rare when hip-camping, we appreciated that! It was an honor being welcomed onto what we felt was very intentionally homesteaded land, from the rotational and free grazing, to the composting toilet system, it is clear that Luke and Caitlin care- about their land, the environment, and the community!
The camp style is rustic, but the amenities are well-thought out, and provided more than a typical rustic camp (camp kitchen, water jugs, hammocks, battery charging, etc). Again, a lot of intentional care and thought was put into this!! Most of all, we greatly appreciated having firewood provided- bonus points for that!

Absolutely beautiful, incredible hosts! 10/10 will be back, you can really feel all the love at this place with this family! Magical treehouse experience! The campsite was roomier than we thought it'd be, totally private, perfectly clean, surprisingly bug free, stocked with everything we needed and more, the outhouse was pleasant, the milk they gave us was spectacular, awesome farm experience for the kiddos. Thanks a ton!

We loved our stay in the treehouse and camping in a tent on Sarah's land! The views were beautiful, and we truly felt the presence of nature all around us. There was another campsite nearby, but we made sure to keep our noise to a minimum. The best part was watching my children enjoy nature and observe the animals. Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
Absolutely amazing spot to camp. It was fun to wake up and explore some of the farm land with the horses, cows, chickens, and sheep. I also found so many cool species of mushrooms around the area. Bugs werent a huge problem either. The bathroom near the tree house is very well kept and not too far of a walk from the spot. The treehouse has everything you need to cook, a bed if the hammocks aren't your thing (they are also super comfy) and on the second floor you can cover the entrance to feel safer :) when we got there, Luke was super sweet and told us how to get to the site with a map of the land(very helpful) and even offered food and water if we needed. Would definitely camp here again if im in the area!
