Welcome to Constellation Farmstead. We are a multi-faceted agritourism destination combining farming, homesteading and leisure. We are located in a quaint and quiet area of the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
We currently have camping space available both for tents and camping with an RV.
For animals we currently have 3 pigs, 12 chickens, a handful of ducks and 8 of the softest rabbits you will ever meet. We also have a husky named Lakota who is always on leash with us as well as 2 cats, one of which spends much of his time outside.
Our hiking trails are open, and markers are being added. You are welcome to hike through our property on your own or we are always happy to join. Our disc golf course will be open with t pads and baskets once the ground is firm enough to get everything set up!
In the years to come, our beautiful barn will become a venue for weddings as well as a suite and rentable rooms where you can stay. We’ll also be continuing to grow our family farm, orchard and of course our growing array of animals for you to visit.
For guests we also have a community fire pit in our yard and host fires most nights that we have guests. We also have a sauna that we heat up many nights so feel to let us know if these things interest you.

The camper is setup for a single person to sleep (twin bed). If your doing Vanlife or camping and want to sleep in your van or tent on the property while using the facilities - we'll refund you $10!
ACCOMODATION
The camper has electricity with lights/outlets/ a fan and a small heater. The windows open with screens for nice ventilation. The comfortable twin mattress is complete with a clean mattress cover. Please bring your own sleeping bag / bedding / pillow case / towel.
The kitchen has a mini-fridge and a gas camping stove and is furnished with all you need for cooking and eating. If you prefer cooking on an open fire there is a campfire pit that's a great spot to hang out on cool evenings. You can enjoy your meals on the little retro table in the kitchen or on the big picnic table in the yard. Internet is also available.
Your large private outdoor bathroom has a hot-water shower and a camper style toilet. (see photo). The camper is right next to the outdoor kitchen/bathroom which is connected to the back of the main house. It was all built with maximum privacy in mind for both the Hip-camper and the House-guest.
THE AREA
You are on the edge of the village of Larium in Calumet township. It's a very safe and quiet area. You can see some neighbor's houses from the yard - all nice good people :)
It's only a few minutes walk or bike ride to downtown Calumet where you can find a grocery store, coffee shops, a great bakery, restaurants ... Calumet also has a big farmer's market every Saturday during the warmer months and free music performances every Wednesday night at the Calumet Theater!
For nature lovers - your right in it! You can start hiking or biking right out of the camper. Your connected to miles of trails that cover the Keweenaw Peninsula. For swimming it's only a short drive to Calumet Water Works Park for an excellent Lake Superior Sunset Beach. You may also want to check out Mount Bohemia for the ultimate spa relaxation at the end of adventure filled days!

We had a perfect day! We hiked Silver Mountain and found the best macaroons at The Red Hen before arriving at the camp site. It is a beautiful setting. Shade trees and a peaceful lake. Still my favorite part of our stay was the sauna.

Another awesome stay with AJ and Maddie. Nice level area to park van, we were only ones there. Nice to see all the progress from hard work over last 3 years. Folks should understand this is a working farm, so watch where you step! Sauna was awesome - slept really well afterwards! See you again for the three-peat! Didn't play, but they also have a killer disc golf course.

Great central location with easy day trips to the Porcupine Mountains, or Keweenaw Peninsula, Copper Harbor, Houghton etc. The Sauna is an excellent feature for this camp location. It was super luxurious to have hot showers and relaxing in the steam heat, especially since the first few days of our trip were pretty cold. Nice dock, very easy to launch our kayaks. Not quite as 'private' as I would love to be, as there are houses on the lake on both sides of the property, but all in all, we had a great trip. I would recommend this property.

I found this place on a whim and It turned out to be paradise in the UP. A few friends were planning to accompany me but then I ended up solo on a perfect getaway from everything! If you’re looking for a quiet escape on the lake with a sauna, well this is it….
The hot shower is a big bonus of this stay.
It does get quite dark so make sure you check your headlamps for charged batteries (unlike me) or you’ll have to use your phone or stats to guide you back to your tent ;-) If you use the sauna, plan to wait a while for ideal temps but very easy to manage - just turn the knob and set it for 2hrs or more for warmer temps.
Mike is very friendly and brought me a cup of homemade applesauce the morning after I got in.
I really enjoyed the sauna, dip and relax time here.
Me and my dog Lady lost track of time when the day came to depart, and I wasn’t rushed out by any means. Thank you Mike & Company.

Our family of five plus our pup really enjoyed staying in the 26 foot camper. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed from linens for the beds, towels, to kitchen supplies. Howard was a great host and responded quickly to any questions I had. This was the perfect location right off 41 which made it super easy to explore all that Keweenaw has to offer, including being close to all the trails. We brought our Jeeps and had so much fun exploring the northern top of the peninsula all the way down to Houghton.
Great spot, would definitely stay here again!

Gentle Breeze is exactly that. Enjoy solitude with beautiful surroundings, a serene lake to watch the sunset and a relaxing sauna and shower at the end of the day. It was perfect! We brought some local wood but also used some of the felled smaller logs there. Bring something to cut them with, we just used a small axe. We will definitely be back again and we’ll bring our kayaks.

Weekend Trip to Keweenaw Retro Camper
Neil's camper is nice and clean, and the kitchen/shower/toilet shed is convenient and private. Neil is a responsive and respectful host. I recommend his place as an economical and easy option for travel accommodation.

4 nights at Pure Air Paradise
We would definitely stay here again! The camper was great. It was well stocked with everything you need for a stay and the beds were comfortable (they had a soft memory foam topper on the mattress that I loved). Having a recliner was also great as well. The camper had A/C for hot days and space heaters for cool nights. It had a coffee maker, blender, fridge, freezer (that all worked well). We also had warm water for a comfortable shower. It was our first time staying in a camper and Alyssa was very responsive/helpful with any questions.
The area seemed really safe and the location is great to many different destinations. It is located just off a major road (convenient) but not many cars drive by (pretty quiet). It's about 30 minutes to the east end of the Porkies, 45 minutes to Agate Beach, and an hour to Houghton. There are good and inexpensive food options locally on Ontonagon that stay open late after a day of adventure.
Due to previous campers not cleaning up well, they now charge a modest cleaning fee but it was nice to just do and light clean and go upon checkout instead of a deep clean.
If you are looking for great option in the Ontonogan region, this is the place.
