Our property is 15 acres in beautiful south central Michigan, north of Jackson, and south of Lansing. It features an approximate 2 acre spring fed pond that does not have scum. It eventually flows into a creek that meanders through onsite wetlands into State of Michigan land. It is virgin land and exhibits many forms of wildlife: deer, turkey, rabbits, pheasants, fish, birds, and other. One day this will be our future dream home, but in the meantime we enjoy using it for getaways and peaceful surroundings. Activities include the following: We have kayaked on the pond, had campfires on the hill, hiked through the swamp, fished on the pond, and have had hunters in the fall. It's within a 30 minute drive of Lansing and Jackson which both have numerous activities and culture.

Learn more about this land:We are a 20 acre hobby farm along the Grand River in Lowell Michigan. A walkable small town. The river is accessable to small craft. Swimming is not prohibited, but is at your own risk. Several fields are available as well as a small and large tent site along the river. Campers may park in the field.
We are located along the North Country Trail and only a few blocks from their office as well as walking distance from the Kent county youth fairgrounds
There is several restaurants and breweries walking distance away, joined by a social district as well as several cannabis stores. A dollar store and ice cream shop are 2-3 blocks away. And a country style breakfast restaurant is next door.
Have a fire or go fishing down by the river, or visit the animals at feeding time. The donkey likes attention. Fresh eggs are also available for $3/doz

10/12/25 The camping season in Michigan is coming to a close. We'll be open through October with full closure starting Nov. 1 through mid-March 2026. If the weather is kind, 2 sites will open, followed by the other 2 beginning May 1. Glad to be able to offer our slice of heaven to you again next year! Thank you to all who chose to stay this year.
***For the preservation of our property, our septic system, the privacy of other campers, all arrivals MUST be prior to dark setting in. If you can't see the signs & posts, you can damage our property AND your vehicle/equipment. Please see the site rules for current max time for check-in. (With changing daylight hours, this time limit will change throughout the season.)
*The property has a lot of wildlife; Deer, Turkey, Rabbits, Coyote, Birds, & Fox.
*A small creek runs across the back of the property.
*There are many lakes just minutes away, as well as the Huron river for fishing & kayaking.
*Public beaches at Lake Chemung & Bishop Lake.
*Campfires allowed. Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite.
*Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house.
*Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee).
*Pets are allowed (cats & dogs only). They must be leashed at all times (15 ft. max).
*Guests that are not part of the Hipcamp Reservation, are not allowed on-site. Guests will need to be met at a location other than our Hipcamp. There are numerous places nearby to gather instead. This assures maximum privacy for all sites & for our family.

This property has been in our family for over 40 years- it is our own little piece of heaven and we are wanting to share it with you!
The land was originally bought to be a hippy community- but sadly people grew up and moved on, leaving my father as the lone survivor of the property. My husband and I have recently purchased the land from him and want to make it into something beautiful- a new community of sorts. We are excited for you to come and camp on our property! We have lots of fun things planned for the property and will be making improvements as we go!

Our little slice of heaven is nestled back off the country road- with over 30 acres, we have a beautiful grassy area that has a large fire pit and a natural pond. Some wood is provided for your initial fire; more can be purchased from us for $5 per bundle. We have basic electricity, we also have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe. The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself.
While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30 ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked.
We are very close to several rivers We are in a very nice happy medium to a lot of Michigan favorite spots.
Come and enjoy the quiet country- and get some amazing star lit skies.

We can accommodate large groups, or family gatherings. Large groups (over 10) must add on an additional portable toilet to their stay (seasonal only
We have an open air shower (see photos) that is cold water- but can be hot on sunny days.

Well trained- recall ready pets are welcomed- please pick up after your pet. We do have free range ducks that use the pond- who should be respected. Leashes are required for all dogs who are dangerous to our animals.
We do a meet and greet with our guests and will show you to the space; go over any information that we need to with you, and then we try and leave you to the space so you can experience it for yourself and enjoy your time.
We are proud to be a certified pollinator sanctuary, and do not spray our property for insects

My wife and I are slowly starting up our own little farm. We have 2 indoor cats, 1 outdoor cat, a dog, chickens and two ducks.
We are on 34 acres and have a river that runs through the middle of it. We are 10 minutes from Alma and 20 minutes from Mt Pleasant. Lumberjack park is about 2 minutes away and Stearns preserve is about 5 mins away where you can walk or ride bike on a nice paved trail. We have a small garden that we plant every summer and plan to start a small farm stand this year.
We are in a quiet area with lots of wildlife. We have 1 spot near the house with a view of the river that can support electric hook for a smaller RV and can attach a garden hose for water if needed. We do have a “field” that RVs can use but there is no hook up and there ground may not be level. We have many options for rustic tent camping along the river. No public restroom available. We can also provide some fire wood for campfires for a small cost. Along the river fires are allowed but must be contained in a fire ring. If camping by the field fires will be dependent on conditions.
We have 3 kayaks and a canoe that can be used with prior consent. There is a park up river where you can put in and then can exit at our house which is about an hour on the river.
We are very new to this and just purchased a UTV so we will be able to start making trails and clearing areas. But for now, camping along the river you will have to walk (and carry belongings) through tall grass to the site you desire.
Quiet time 11 pm. We are an easy going couple that just want to share this slice of paradise with others!

I camped at their beautiful meadow campsite offering a fire ring and picnic table. There are beautiful wooded trails, a nearby cider mill, petting farm, pumpkin patch, and a corn maze to explore during the fall.

Molly and Kevin were nice host, checked in on us via the hipcamp app and made sure we didn't need anything. They have a beautiful landscape for camping and any other family event. It was nice and spacious plus the star view was awesome at night and they also have a nice trail that leads back to more wide open land and a pond for fishing.

Perfect spot to have some privacy and feel safe. Camping on grass and some level ground is really nice as opposed to a beet down Public camp ground.
I sat and talked with owner Tom, great guy. They call people like this good folk. Real good site too solid ground, lots of geese and cranes went by multiple times. Loved the stay here. We tested out a new air tent here had several nice fires and ate few really good steaks our last night. I almost hate post up here about this little gem in fear of others finding out about this gem. Oh did I mention how Responsive and respectful Julie was in returning information and questions getting answered.

One of the best places we’ve stayed yet! Our host was great! No hookups at the site area but Matthew was very helpful and allowed us to use the water spigot on the side of the house. HUGE BONUS, you get to play frisbee with his awesome, crazy smart dogs!! The sites are in a field right on the river. The little road back to the field is a bit bumpy but we made it easily in our 39ft class A towing our car. Tons of room to turn around too. Just needed to take it slow. Will definitely be staying here again. Soooo peaceful and relaxing.

What a lovely setting! Kyle was polite, well spoken, responsive and accommodating. The "oasis" is just that, green and well kept with beautiful old walnut trees and the sounds of wild life singing you to sleep at night. Take a little time before bed to enjoy the lack of street lights. LOOK UP the sky was gorgeous every night. I saw shooting stars! We enjoyed Kyle's beautiful, big, front yard oasis immensely and hope to return on our next trip to the area!

My sister and I had a great time at the riverfront campsite. We were able to get on the water multiple times (instant river access is awesome!) including a beautiful sunrise paddle :) We thoroughly enjoyed the farm animals and the constant natural symphony around us. We didn’t have the chance to meet Matthew, but his property was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. Super close to town while feeling a lot more secluded. We brought a pop up privacy tent

I've been camping at various Hipcamps this summer. While each and every experience has been wonderful, Tom and Julie's land is outstanding with beautiful scenery. They've thought of everything. Easy to follow site map, land markers to each private campsite, wooded trails with a bridge covered creek, an open meadow and "park", potable water, an oder free valted outhouse with easy access to each site, fire rings, firewood (for a small fee) and a sled to pull the wood to each site, and best of all, they are great hosts. This is a must camp experience rich in history. I'm looking forward to camping here this fall to view all of the fall colors.

We spent 2 night camping at Molly's place abd really enjoyed ourselves. It's a large site and far enough away from Molly's home to feel private. It's a great spot for couples. (My husband and I loved the outdoor tub.) It would also work well for large groups or families.

I travel for a living and have stayed at "campgrounds" literally all over the country and I hate them. You have maybe 3 feet between you and your neighbor at most all of them. I personally don't picture a relaxing stay in nature, as having even more loud neighbors, kids and dogs; than I do at home.
So if you are like me and are looking for an actually serene place to stay, look no further. This oasis is also only about 30 or so minutes from both Lansing and Ann Arbor.
The hosts were so nice and accommodating. You can have all the amenities of home, under the country stars! :) Electricity, water and wifi are all available upon request (though my T-Mobile service worked great). There is even a basketball court.
Even with all that I travel, it took me awhile to really try and start using Hipcamp. I didn't know if it would be awkward or not staying on someone's private land or property. It was not at all. Lots of space, beauty and no rowdy teenagers partying.
My favorite Hipcamp stay thus far! Highly recommend for just a weekend getaway or yearly travelers like myself.

I travel for a living and have stayed at "campgrounds" literally all over the country and I hate them. You have maybe 3 feet between you and your neighbor at most all of them. I personally don't picture a relaxing stay in nature, as having even more loud neighbors, kids and dogs; than I do at home. I don't have to buy a year pass for a park, I will probably never go to again....on top of other hidden fees you only find out about after you've already paid, when you roll in. No rowdy teenagers walking around all night. Just peace and space, with only the noise of crickets lulling you to sleep.

This place was perfect for our families first time camping.
Pros: easy directions
Beautiful scenery
Grassy area
Friendly neighbors
Lots of hiking
Great country roads for ATV
Quiet and serene (most of the time)
Cons:
No fishing or swimming in the pond
Neighbors came down to the site from the neighborhood
Not much privacy because it sits right down from a public street. It was hard to find a place to use the bathroom because of the surrounding homes.
Would definitely go back even though we didn’t see much wildlife it was still very beautiful there.
