There are two chairs in the tipi, which if removed at night, make floor room for four other sleeping bags. 'Forest Bathing' for miles! If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors. Note that Kula Bata Tiny Cabin abuts the wheelchair accessible larger bathroom/shower which is available to those at the Salamander Hollow main camp, yet you are secluded with your own private entry points and private bathroom. A ten minute drive takes you to the parking area to hike up Tully Mountain. There is a grill, wood fired pizza oven, two fire pits and a hygienic Incinolet electric toilet on the property for night convenience, with small camp sinks for washing & teeth brushing. Take a short hike off the property to organic Chase Hill Farm for milk, eggs, seasonal veggies, grass fed meat and other goodies. Say hello to their cows, chickens, pigs, goats, pups and kids. Nestled across the road from Salamander Hollow is Timber Haven Farm, where you can schedule your pickup of bacon and eggs, while loading up on delicious Owl Energy Bars for your adventurous excursions. For those interested in the glamping side of camping, you will enjoy a remote rustic experience with a few creature comforts to keep you well read, clean and fed. Please bring your own bedding - pillows, sleeping bags, comforter, teddy bears.There is a wall mounted blue tooth car radio/CD player in Sleeping Library, so bring your pre-digital favorites. Classical CDs to listen to. Lots of eclectic books to peruse.Walkie talkies, a set of 4, are available upon request. Chess & poker sets, too. Electric 2-burner stovetop and griddle upon request. Bring fire-starters/newspaper for tinder. We suggest if you are staying more than a night or two in winter, you bring supplemental wood or we can direct you to a nearby stand. Next season, our own cut and split wood will be seasoned and available on site. We ask that you carry out trash and recyclables. An established Western facing four point sacred Medicine Wheel site being established on Askari Ridge - our name for the slope starting with the two fire pits - 'Askari' being Swahili for night guard. Here is where we envision a great touch-point area for those leading groups to be for a base-camp by day or night, where eventually a multi-use tenting platform/performance stage will be constructed for outdoor entertainment, creating an authentic 'stadium style' seating on the hill. You will see on your way up to Salamander Hollow main clearing - the Kula Bata Tiny Kabin on the left of the dirt road- now available to rent with its small guest room for two, infrared sauna, hot shower, kitchenette, dishwasher and laundry.

Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the camp site (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

Listen to the gentle brook and barred owls while nestled into the woods of Ashfield, MA on a small herbal homestead. The forest hut is a screened in platform that is lovely for camping on a warm summer's night. It has large windows and screens to keep out the bugs while enjoying a cool mountain breeze. There is a newly built composting toilet on site and small fire pit. This is not a cabin, no electricity, running water or plumbing. It is not well suited for winter camping unless you’re well equipped. BYO gear as there is not mattress or blankets in the shelter. We have a small farm store near the road filled with herbal teas, tinctures, gifts, chicken eggs, soaps, maple syrup and ghee. Take a swim in the Ashfield lake 1 mile away or visit the enchanting Chapel Falls on Trustees land just down the road in Williamsburg. Sweet Birch Herbals is a community herbal company offering workshops, apprenticeships, wellness consultations and hand crafted products including Full Moon Ghee. We grow organic herbs and ethically forage plants for medicine. Request a farm tour, herbalism class or any of our products for your stay here. Very quiet area with lots of wildlife and ponds and disc golf. Very quiet with great swimming and lots of hikes right from your sites. 2 of the Brookside Sites (Wishbone Left and Right) are close by (2.7 miles) where we have another 1/2 mile of river frontage and can handle bigger groups as Conservation land on Sunrise Farm only allows 4 campers per site. Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide. Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive. Always WISE to arrive When LIGHT out as we do not live at the site and are not able to show guests to their sites as a result.

This cabin was great! I’m the first to review so I will try and be thorough. 1st - the cabin is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. 2nd - the area is beautiful and quiet. Jon (owner) greeted us and answered all our questions and told us about the area and the trails adjacent to the cabin. He and his wife have two friendly pups so be sure to say hello. There is power, a heater, fan and a wood stove which you can cook on. We also brought a propane burner to use outside. There was a supply of plates, cups, etc for our use. There is an electric kettle and coffee, tea, etc which made the morning wake up much quicker and warmer (April) than lighting up the propane stove outside! There were lovely flowers by the front door and so nice to see as the leaves had not budded yet. The fire pit was nice with comfy chairs. The back window opens for a nice cross breeze. We spent an afternoon hiking trails from the cabin. There is a great one that follows a beautiful brook. There are miles of trails. They supply a portable toilet if the outhouse isn’t your thing. Only thing of note: We were able to drive to the cabin but after it rains the drive onto the property is a bit muddy (dirt road) - a low car may want to park and walk up. The owner lives just down the road if you need anything. Lastly - we had Verizon and AT&T cell service.

Mary’s cabin on Tully pond was perfect for a spring break getaway with my girlfriend!! We enjoyed campfires and cooking on the grill and the sounds of the birds. Beautiful views including hiking nearby! Amenities were the perfect amount for a very comfortable experience. We both felt truly happy and enjoyed our stay greatly. Highly, highly recommended.

We had a great one-night stay in the cabin. It was a colder night, but the wood stove heated up quickly. The views from the cabin are beautiful as well. The hosts were welcoming and helpful in recommending local places to visit. We will stay here again if we are ever in Shelburne Falls!

Mary's cabin was beautiful and very comfortable. Well equipped but not excessive, kitchen was great to cook & eat in, sauna is amazing. There are nice books. It is a very peaceful place, with a very nice farm shop in walking distance, countless hiking trails around- at the same time the cabin is so comfortable I was tempted to stay in all day. And Mary is such a wonderful host.

Weekend Trip to Winimusett Brook Farm Retreat

Misty's gem of a cabin is quietly secluded on a hill within a beautiful farm estate with plenty of walking trails. The roughly 18x12' cabin uses solar lights with battery backup and the battery still has juice after 2 full days of heavy use in the cloudy / rainy weather. The battery supplies both standard wall outlets and phone charger ports, although I'd recommend using it primarily for just lighting and portable electronics (electric tea kettles etc will drain it significantly faster.) Potable water is provided with an electric tap along with cookware and an adorable retro propane oven + cook top. The wood stove is large and keeps the place warm on a few bundles of wood. I prestocked it before bed and didn't have to feed it at all during the night, a first in all my tiny cabin stays! It was overcast and a bit chilly outside during my stay (40F) but you wouldn't know that from inside after a few minutes with the fire going. Misty was very responsive on my arrival as the cabin isn't 100% visible from the parking area, but I found it no problem (I recommend arriving with some daylight though if you can.) A pull cart is provided but the hill is a bit steep if you're towing luggage but it's very manageable for able-bodied folk. Just take 2 trips instead of overfilling it to prevent tipping if needed. My dog and I found the stay very relaxing. I fell asleep on the comfy couch with my pup reading a book in front of the fire for both nights of our stay. 10/10

I love visiting Mary’s land. This is my second visit and I’ll definitely be back. Mary has thought of all the little details that makes for an excellent stay. The land is beautiful and there’s plenty to explore. Nearby hikes offer great opportunities to further get into nature but you’ll find all you need on Mary’s property.

Responsive host and a really, really cute interior living space! The kitchen and sauna were especially great. Mary was so, so sweet with all of her recommendations and replied very quickly when our car had issues getting stuck in the snow. The only issue (and it was very minor) is that the walls between the campsite bathroom and the bed were a bit thin, so we got jumpscared a little the first time we heard people next to us 😅
