Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

(Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it). - CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . Fern Yabin (a hard sided yurt) is nestled in a forest on a ridge (Elk Ridge) directly across from the Maryland Appalachian Trail. We are tucked down in a holler surrounded by streams, towering Poplars, wildlife and dappled sunshine. The land hosts some animals - a goat, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks while growing medicinal plants, seasonal edible berries/fruits (wineberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, mulberries, elderberries, vine kiwi, pawpaw, etc.) and rocks (plenty of them). There is a couple of acres enclosed with an electric fence where the livestock guardian dog (Luna) roams with the animals. We also sell farm fresh eggs. Fern Yabin is a rustic hard sided yurt style cabin that has hot and cold water, composting toilet, outdoor shower (cold water only), a indoor soaking tub, hot water kettle, an outdoor propane grill, ceiling fan, outdoor patio and fire pit, skylight, WiFi, and lots of character. The Yabin was a true labor of love built as a collective effort in community. There is a designated parking spot and a gravel path (moderate decline) that leads down to the Yabin. If you are a thru hiker, drop off and pick up is available for a fee. Please inquire upon booking. We are 10 minutes to the Appalachian Trail (Weverton Cliffs/Gathland SP and Crampton Gap) and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers (great for tubing/kayaking/wading/swimming). There are outdoor outfitters within 15 minutes where all kinds of wonderful adventures await including a brewery with a stunning vista of the river and area. We are 15 minutes away from historic Harpers Ferry. Antietam National Battlefield and other historic sites are within 30 minutes. For amazing dining opportunities and small city life - Frederick, MD, Boonsboro, MD, Brunswick, MD, Shepherdstown, WV and Charles Town, WV are about a 30 min drive. We are also close to several state parks in the tri state area (MD, VA, WV). Being in a clear house in the woods gives you the feeling of being fully immersed in nature. Having the outhouse, shower, & sink allows you to also feel clean & comfortable. There is electricity & wifi, which is a plus because otherwise we did not get any service. Hosts live on the property & were responsive. We enjoyed the river. Very peaceful.

Our time at The Invisible House was exactly what we were hoping for - it was not only peaceful, but we had everything we needed for a restful 3 nights and 4 days. Even though we had planned to spend an evening in Berkeley Springs, we opted to sit by the campfire each night and just be swallowed up in nature! Lorena was a gracious hostess, making sure we were comfortable and sharing their beautiful property with us. What an experience! We would love to visit again!

Tamara‘s land was a unique experience full of beauty! It was like staying at a museum., Tamara was a wonderful host, full of knowledge of the area. The location was perfect for resupplying hikers on the Appalachian Trail which it was our main reason for visiting. Pablo & Lorena were amazing! They are so kind, caring, accommodating and helpful. The site was perfect! I took my 93 year old mother and she had the time of her life. She slept better than she has in a long time. The invisible house was so tranquil and the beds were so comfy. Lorena & Pablo’s took the tubes and kayak to the river for us and offered to pick us up down the river. This was a trip she will never forget!

Where do I even begin! Nate and his crew were absolutely fantastic hosts!! I was not expecting the level of hospitality that they showed us, and we are beyond grateful! The camper was perfect, and the property was beautiful. My wife and son each caught fish in the pond, and my daughter fell in love with the barn cats. Nate's "night cap tour" of his distillery was fantastic and the care he takes in raising his corn and distilling his spirits shines through. I can't speak highly enough about how wonderful the entire experience was and my entire family can't wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to CLOUD NINE VICTORIAN FARM

We spent the weekend at Tam's farm as a get away from Baltimore city hustle and bustle. Our family is 2 adults and 2 kiddos (2yo and 5yo). We had a wonderful, relaxing, and quiet weekend. Tam's homestead has everything we needed: activities for the kiddos like a tire swing, crafts, and a "horse," chickens to feed, and a sweet old dog and cats. The adults had a great time relaxing in the soft grass, enjoying the sunset and making fajitas over the fire pit. We spent Saturday morning relaxing and Saturday afternoon at a creamery nearby, visiting amazing vistas, and swimming in Cunningham Falls state park, all within a short drive. Tam's property is beautiful and historic and gives a little insight in how farm life felt back in the 1800s. Tam is such a great host - we could tell she's a seasoned hip camp host- and helped us with anything we needed including hot water for our coffee and cream and sugar. Tam goes the extra mile for her guests and it shows that she cares about her guests' stay. If you're looking for a relaxing trip away from the city, close to beautiful nature and state parks, comfy beds and sweet old dog, Tam is your girl.
