It is a bit of a bumpy ride, so take it slow and easy as you make your way to our hidden getaway. There is one sharp left turn over a culvert and some dips and mild inclines, so low-sitting vehicles should definitely take it slow. The road narrows as you get closer to the site, but there are reflectors along the way to keep you on the right path. We highly recommend arriving before dark. Parking: Parking is on the grass meadow between the entrance to the meadow and the walking path to the campsite. Reflectors are in place to outline the parking area. Avoid driving beyond the parking area and down steep inclines in the meadow, as softer ground presents a risk for getting stuck. A gorilla wagon is available in the parking area to help transport your belongings to the campsite. Toilet and Shower Set-up: There is a privacy tent that contains a toilet seat over a bucket. Place a bag with absorbent materials in the bucket for your biological needs. A portable automatic shower providing hot water is also available. The Indian Rail Trail, Charles County's most exciting recreational trail, is just a 7-minute drive from your tent. This paved, 13-mile-long, ten-foot-wide path is an excellent excursion for bikers of all ages, connecting the small town of Indian Head on the Potomac River to White Plains. The fairly level trail takes riders through mature forests, natural wetlands, and some farmland. During your stay, you can also take a 10-minute walk through the forest on our property to visit a serene creek. Your Signature campsite accommodates up to 6-10 campers. The basic booking includes space for 4 campers, with 2 sleeping on the Queen Bed in the platform safari tent and 2 sleeping in bags on the floor. The site also features a picnic table, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs where you can relax and stargaze at night. Atlantic Kayak Company is a 20-minute drive from the site, offering kayak rentals and guided expeditions. For families, Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a fun activity less than a 10-minute drive from the campsite. A Walmart is conveniently located about 10 minutes away for any supplies you may need, and local produce can be obtained on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the La Plata Farmer's Market (12 min drive) between April and November. The Road To Serenity: Our road is a quaint old country farm road made of grass and a few gravel patches here and there. It is a bit of a bumpy ride, so take it slow and easy as you make your way to our hidden getaway. There is one sharp left turn over a culvert and some dips and mild inclines, so low-sitting vehicles should definitely take it slow. The road narrows as you get closer to the site, but there are reflectors along the way to keep you on the right path. We highly recommend arriving before dark. Parking: Parking is on the grass meadow between the entrance to the meadow and the walking path to the campsite. Reflectors are in place to outline the parking area. Avoid driving beyond the parking area and down steep inclines in the meadow, as softer ground presents a risk for getting stuck. A gorilla wagon is available in the parking area to help transport your belongings to the campsite. Toilet and Shower Set-up: There is a privacy tent that contains a toilet seat over a bucket. Place a bag with absorbent materials in the bucket for your biological needs. A portable automatic shower providing hot water is also available. Pets: For the safety of your pets, ensure that they are treated for ticks prior to camping. Be sure to check for ticks before bringing pets into the tent. Noises and Sounds: This property is located in a rural community, and campers may occasionally experience common city noises such as airplanes flying overhead, distant traffic, or distant firearm shots. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in the RV! It was myself, one other person and our 3 dogs. We came from a city area up north looking for a secluded, peaceful getaway and we found it. Josh was an excellent host! The RV was spacious, well stocked and comfortable. We were close to activities in nearby towns as well. We enjoyed sitting by the fire and looking up at the stars outside the RV. We would definitely like to plan a future stay here.

I spent probably half of my weekend enjoying the bug-free front porch, listening to music (and playing!), and just having a totally empty brain. The people, though - they really made the stay! I was welcomed into conversations as though I'd been part of the community for years. There was room to explore! The pool was a welcome surprise - I only say that because I'm not much of a pool guy. This was where folks gathered to talk, read, snack... whatever! What a wonderful community!

We stayed in the tent on top of the Land Rover. It was parked along the tree line on the edge of a pasture. About 50 sheep with lambs, an alpaca, a gentle, friendly pony and a horse were in the field next to us. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll really appreciate his farm dogs, who were happy to hang with us and keep us company. The tent was quite comfortable, though it took some concentration to safely maneuver getting up and down the ladder. The port a pot was the freshest smelling, cleanest one I’d ever encountered, and the other tent sites were in the same field, but not at all close to our site. The town of Bel Air is very close by with numerous restaurants. I would recommend the Sunny Day Cafe or one of the others on main st in the old town center. Bel Air also has just about any retail store you can think of. If you want to stay away from all of that, there are several nice parks within 20-30 minutes of the farm. Harford Glen is an environmental center that has a boardwalk through some wetlands, hiking trails through the woods and along side a creek, and a pond. Check online to find out when it’s open to the public. Rocks State Park also has hiking trails, with Dear Creek running through it. Visit the King and Queen Seat while you’re there. Also nearby, is a popular rail trail if you have bikes with you. Our stay at Edwin’s farm was very pleasant and carefree, which is just what we were looking for. Thanks Edwin!

We are the Maryland Health Society, one of the oldest clothing optional resorts and campgrounds in the USA.  Established in 1934, we are 100% not-for-profit and 100% volunteer run.  We have 98 secluded acres of wooded beauty, including cabins, RV sites with 50amp service, tent sites, swimming pool, clubhouse with kitchen and full restrooms, BBQ pit, 5 outdoor showers, 7 miles of hiking trails.  Bordering the Patuxent River, we are 10 minutes from Washington, DC. We host many large fundraising events every year. We are in a rustic setting and our offer total acceptance. We are a 100% AANR Club.

About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.
