Enjoy ease of huge, level gravel pad. Includes a 2 sided privacy structure to hang an outside shower bag (bring water & bag). Branch lake is right across the main road (but more like driving distance than walking). 15 mins to Ellsworth, 30 to Bar Harbor. No bathrooms, bring water, take your trash. This is a huge level gravel pad up a long dirt driveway. Travel down a dirt road about 1 mile to find your oasis in nature. 4 wheel drive is not required but necessary if you bring an RV (please use 4 wheel drive when going up the driveway if you’re towing to avoid creating ruts in the drive way. A car will make it down the dirt road and up the semi-steep drive way. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW to respect the road and preserve the undercarriage of your car. Please bring everything you need for a great stay and take everything with you when you depart. The pad will accommodate multiple tents, a small to medium sized RV and 4-5 cars. There are no onsite amenities. Please bring your water and plan to take your trash with you. The area is lush and green and the stars are bright at night. Any fallen trees are yours to use for firewood. You can also take any small branches from the brush piles. We just ask that you do not cut down any other trees on the property. You have 13 acres all to yourself. There are a few short trails that lead to the rear of the property but they are very short and not maintained paths. Guests interactions: You are on your own! We will observe the property after your checkout. Please take everything with you and do not burn trash in the fire ring. There are nearby ATV trails. If you bring ATVs, kindly ask that you drive them carefully on our gravel pad, driveway, and dirt road (drive slow, no donuts please :)) Dogs are welcome! Bring your friends. Take your trash. Please respect our nature and pack it out if you pack it in. That includes anything you may or may not do in the woods. Do not leave tissue paper or piles of #2 on the paths. Use a bag, pack it out. Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Turn your time away into a transformative and healing experience, as you connect more deeply to the natural world. We hope that you will enjoy the experience of Turtle Marsh as much as we do.

7 nights at Turtle Marsh- secluded wooded site.

Really unique and amazing stay, can't recommend this place enough! Learned about three medicinal mushrooms that grow on the property through the walks with Peter and Willie. Some neat evidence of beaver activity was spotted as well. You can hear barn owls in the evening. If you did get any rain or wind while there it's rather pleasant. Was nice to know if you do need anything the cabin and Peter were a short walk away. I even got Peters book which I can't wait to read!

You can tell Leketa and Hillary put a lot of thought into the small touches — it made all the difference. I’m so happy I got to experience it, even briefly, and I’ll definitely make the time to come back someday.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Kyle was extremely friendly and made sure we had all we needed. We felt very comfortable here. The trees were in full fall colors and the lake is beautiful just a short walk down the trail. Glacial erratic boulders surround the site and make you feel like you’re in a park. You can’t really see any other homes in the area from the campsite. Spring fed crystal clear lake with beautiful islands on them. Kyle owner above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We plan to return one day. 9 minutes to a full service grocery store with beer, gas, firewood and delicious whoopie pies. If you forget something it’s just right down the road. Good cell service, just bring your own power banks and drinking water. Small portable toilet was handy and not too bad to use once you realize there’s nobody within view.

Weekend Trip to Turtle Marsh- secluded wooded site.

Due to impending weather, we had to change our plans and make a last minute booking. The site was perfect for us. The property is beautiful with a network of small trails crisscrossing it. The site is peaceful and private, and even during a significant downpour we were able to stay dry in the canvas bell tent. Peter is everything you could want in a host. He went out of way to be helpful, he's friendly, genuine, and responsive to communication, while still respecting his guests space and privacy. Plus his dog is the best! We would highly recommend staying here.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was cozy with everything we needed for cooking right on hand. Super easy to get to, which made the trip more relaxing. The location was prime, about 100 yards of waterfront to enjoy, with sunny mornings and shady afternoons that were perfect for hanging out. Our two dogs had the best time. We’d absolutely come back!

We loved tenting here! Our site was private and serene. Porta potty is very clean and a short walk from the sites. We loved spending time on the pond and being woken up by the loon calls. As other reviewers have mentioned, the doughnuts are amazing!

I had the loveliest week camping in the beautiful clearing on Kyle's property! The site was spacious, with plenty of room for cooking, relaxing, and setting up camp, all surrounded by stunning granite boulders and just a short walk uphill from the lake. Kyle was incredibly welcoming and always responsive if I needed anything. As a woman camping alone, I found it to be the perfect balance of privacy and seclusion while still being close enough to other homes to feel comfortable. I had such a wonderful week - would love to stay here again!
