Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included.
All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.
A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season.
Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section.
Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions.
Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar.
While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast.
Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient.
2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding.
We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours.
For winter stays please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter. Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

Rustic tent site with fire pit, firewood, picnic table, and outhouse. It is a very secluded and quiet site surrounded by birches, spruce, a young maple stand, and some cute fledgling pines.
There's open space to the south with sight-lines toward Frenchmans and Flanders Bay. To the north, east, and west, there's about 70 acres of tree-growth with some old logging trails to casually bushwhack if you feel it. There's a glacial erractic (big big boulder) not terribly far from the site. Please note that it is possible to get lost if you go deep (though unlikely).
There is proper hiking throughout the area, not least of which is Acadia National Park and Lamoine State Park. But there are hikes even closer. Long Ledges is just a couple miles up the road (off Punkinville, right by the high school). And these trails are ambitious, even connect up all the way to Schoodic Mountain, which in addition to being a great hike on its own, is surrounded by Donnell Pond and Tunk Lake. Further trails throughout and amongst the State Preserve are great. Swim, fish (get a license before doing so), boat (plenty of public landings around to put in a kayak), hangout. Biking is probably best on the carriage roads of Acadia, which are island-side on MDI, or over at Schoodic in Winter Harbor (make a loop starting at Frazier Point). Sullivan has a stretch of the sunrise trail, which is an ATV trail, and which is billed as bike friendly but it's not super great for tires narrower than mountain bikes.
Go eat seafood at Tracy's, less than a mile up the road. Eat some ice cream at Shanahan's Sweet Retreat. Dunbar's Store has a good beer selection, carries an assortment of food stuffs including some vegan options-variety is the spice of life. Young's Market has breakfast Sammy's, coffee, pizza, cigs, fuel.

It was my first time camping and I was nervous going into it, but once we arrived at the site it felt very safe. Definitely recommend setting up/finding the site during the day because it is a little tricky to find which plot is yours since there are a few sites on the land. The other sites were a little bit in the distant so there were others around but still felt private. Beautiful scenery and the stars at night are a must see! Definitely recommend, especially for first time campers.

We had the most amazing experience here and I already can’t wait to plan our next visit to really just enjoy the site more! But it was absolutely STUNNING, the views were beautiful and so much care was put into every part of the site. I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience on my first solo trip with my pup! This was a perfect location for us to setup Basecamp while exploring the area. It's a far enough from the crowds but close enough that we could drive in and explore Acadia. We also enjoyed exploring the local smaller area. 10/10 would recommend spending time on the closer Schoodic area. The outhouse was clean and had everything we needed. There is currently a fire ban in Maine so we didn't get to enjoy a campfire but there was plenty of firewood provided. If/ when we come back we would love to stay here again.

This was such a great spot for camping! It is about 45 minutes from Acadia which was perfect for us. There was a fire ban so we did not get to have a campfire, but there is a nice fire pit and a picnic table at this site! The outhouse is clean as well! George is a wonderful host, very kind and quick to respond! Thank you for letting us stay!

Great place right near Acadia & Bar Harbor (as well as numerous other places with less foot traffic). The downtown area of Ellsworth has cute shops, great food, and everything you'd need and is about a 15-20minute drive right from the camp site.
The site is secluded & spacious but has everything you'd need in order to stay comfortable on a camping trip.
I loved bringing my dog because he had ample space to explore. The hosts were very communicative!

This campsite is really special- the property is absolutely beautiful, the tent and everything provided made our stay comfortable, and the lake is sooo peaceful. We loved spending two nights here with our dogs and using it as a jumping off point to explore Acadia. Tabatha was also extremely communicative and helpful! Their property is huge, and we didn’t encounter anyone else during our stay. The brook was dried up since there’s been such a drought, so I can’t even imagine how much more awesome it would’ve been if we had that for our dogs to play in right at the site!

Weekend Trip to Flag Hill Farm And Forest
The campsite was great and beautiful. We had a blast. It's just the right distance of being out in the woods, but close enough to civilization that Walmart is only about 20 minutes away. It's about an hour outside of bar harbor, which is where we spent most of our time. Host was very nice and was quick to answer any questions I had.

This is a really magical place. Our kid had a great time exploring the brook (and set up her own “house” in a section of it) and loved how comfy the setup inside the tent is. The wood stove was amazing for chilly nights, and the location is excellent. The fire pit has been updated from what’s in the photos to a really big pit with a super nice grate, which was great for cooking. The layout is really thoughtful, with the kitchen tent closest to the car, which saves you having to carry the heaviest stuff (cooler and food) very far. We definitely hope to stay here again!

We had an amazing time at the camp! It was just what we wanted for our trip, not to far from Acadia and Bar Harbor, but in a super relaxed and not so busy area. Tabatha was very responsive and gave great recommendations throughout our stay. The tent area, the fire pit, the stream running by the tent, the outhouse, everything was great! But, be prepared for mosquitos! We were even lucky enough to see a bull moose during our stay. Thank you Tabatha for sharing this with us!

We had the best 3 nights! It’s a beautiful property & was a great home base for visiting Acadia and the surrounding areas! The outhouse was amazing and very clean. Highly recommend going to Bon Vent Cidery if you stay here and like cider- it’s super close! We will be back if we are in the area!
