From a satellite view this is the area of the 105 acres of land to explore. 

Wonderful Wooded Wilderness

This land used to be a large potato farm years ago and there was a water powered mill on the stream that used to squeeze the starch out of the potatoes to make starch. While exploring, you may come across some old stone foundations and an old broken stone dam that served the mill. If you look hard, you will find a natural spring.

Large stream running through the property and an abandoned dirt road for ATVs or walking. 105 acres of heaven on earth in a town that has a total population of about 400 people. Bear Brook Retreat

This is our families off grid vacation home.  We escape here when we need to get away from it all and unwind.  The power supply is a manual generator which powers all the modern conveniences that you are used to.  Hot shower, full kitchen, lights, internet and a turntable with vinyl collections.  You will not be bothered here, nothing but the sounds of birds, crickets and the wind.  On clear nights the stars in the sky are amazing.  Bring your mountain bike, running shoes or hiking boots.  The stresses of life will be lost at this wilderness retreat.  Heating is supplied by a wood stove.  The first floor has a full kitchen with dining area, large living room with flat screen tv and dvd player, lounge area with sound system, a full bath and a bedroom.  The upstairs has two bedrooms and a half bath.  We have one queen bed in the master bedroom, the second bedroom has two twin beds and a full bed. The downstairs bedroom has a twin bed plus we have a sleeper sofa.Learn more about this land:Private off grid home with no neighbors.  Sit at the campfire and just gaze at the stars.  Listen to nothing but the birds and crickets as your relax.  We have a full kitchen, 3 bedroom and 1.5 baths.  Bring your mountain bikes and hiking shoes as you enjoy this remote Maine wilderness.  Power is supplied by a manual generator with solar being added in the fall of 2019.  The home is heated by a wood stove.  All dishes and kitchen utensils are included.

Tiny A-Frame Cabin on a personal wildlife preserve! Located a mile from the Passadumkeag River and three miles from the Penobscot River!

With Composting Toilet, No Electricity and No Running Water!

• The wall does lift up and down so you can be closed in if it rains but I leave it open most of the time to allow air flow.

• There is a fire pit and two chairs available at the cabin for you to cozy up or cook your food. If you would like a wheel barrow full of firewood provided there is some available on site for a small donation.

• There is a hammock with a shade cover at the cabin for you to use. 

• There is a bug net provided in the cabin if you're in need of some extra protection indoors.

• Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive with a few hiking trails.

• Baxter State Park & Acadia National Park are each an hour and a half away (just in opposite directions).

• A composting toilet is on site, with a scoop and bucket of sawdust to cover waste. I you need to pee, find a tree! If it's number two, use the loo!

• No electricity at the cabin or on the property

• No running or potable drinking water. Must bring in water.

• The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. The deck gives another 3’ to enjoy your inside/outside stay.

• The property DOES get full sun so be aware of finding shade throughout the day! I like to enjoy the river(s) and explore the area during the peak heat hours! 

 • Mosquitos like to come out at dusk. I do have some citronella candles but it would be best if you came prepared with bug repellent! 

• There is a New tiny cabin construction on site!

• This cabin is NOT private - one dwelling is visible but it is also NOT a rental.

Pursue big game or chase ruffed grouse &; snowshoe hare through the thick evergreens. Bring your bike, hiking boots, snowshoes, cross-country skis, ATV or snowmobile to access endless miles of trails or take your boat deep into the wilderness on area lakes to really test your outdoor skills. The wildlife watching is great and you could chance upon a moose.
