Easy access and good fishing make Lake Hebron a popular spot for local anglers.
The Appalachian Trail follows the northwest corner of the lake, and Monson Village is nestled around its eastern end.
Monson was once famous for its slate industry Examples of native slate may be seen along Maine Routes 6 and 15 and at quarries located in the town.  A wonderful, serene place to visit.
This 525-acre lake receives huge annual stockings of brook trout.
In 1994,4,300 trout were stocked here; in 1995, another 4,300 brook trout were stocked, along with 250 landlocked salmon.Learn more about this land:This campsite  is located on the beautiful shores of lake Hebron in Monson, Maine. Twenty minutes from Moosehead Lake, a few minutes from the Appalachian trail that starts the hundred mile wilderness, and home of the world renowned Monson Slate. Bring your kayaks or canoe to explore the 638 acres of pristine lake while you stay at our quiet, wooded, six acre property.  We can also assist with Kayak rental as well.

100 Mile Wilderness Cabin

This is a quaint cabin nestled in the woods adjacent to the Appalachian Trail. Weeks could be spent exploring nearby hiking, fishing, atv'ing, canoeing or mountain climbing. It is smallish on inside but can easily accommodate 5 people. Queen bed with bunk beds on 1st floor bedroom and full size bed and single in loft bedroom. Propane lights and cookstove. Wood Stove for heat. Close to Moosehead Lake, Lake Onawa and many other lakes and ponds. Great place to truly escape.

Go fishing or paddling right from your camp site on spectacle pond or near by water ways, Lake Herbron, Onawa, and Moosehead Lake.  Go on a triple waterfall tour, book a white water rafting trip , Moose tour, or spend the days shopping local in near by towns.  This Area of Maine is an adventurers dream. 

  Only minutes away from the mountains, lakes and rivers near by.   Monson center is 5 miles away.  Where you will find the sweetest Maine town.  A General Store, Art gallery, pottery shop, several eatery’s, from fine dinning to finger licking good BBQ, to lake side dining.  Greenville is 5 miles away where you’ll find  shopping, dining and the famous Moosehead Lake.  In your cabin you will find maps to all the best hiking, paddling, exploring, white water rafting, waterfall chasing, and menus to the local eateries.  

Homemade gourmet breakfast by host  available for additional charge upon request between 6am & 8am.  Not always available.  Please ask host in advance.  Menu will vary depending on availability of locally grown and foraged ingredients.

Breakfast can be served upon request.   Menu changes daily as food is locally sourced, farmed and foraged. Coffee is locally roasted and pressed.

Stony Ridge

Our property is 70 acres of peaceful woods and fields with trails to enjoy. Just 15 minutes from Sebec Lake and Peaks Kenny State Park, where you can enjoy swimming, boating and fishing. Venture a little farther and you’ll be at Moosehead Lake in about 45 minutes. Outhouse on site and showers available seasonally. 

River Run Farm

A rare opportunity to experience a tidy, scenic New England working farm built in the Civil War era. This protected Forever Farm has 72 acres of pastures, hayfields, ponds, woodland, and 1/3 mile of unspoiled frontage on the Piscataquis River. We offer two exclusive private RV sites: One field edge site on the riverfront, one wooded site looking down over the pastures and farmstead. Bird- and wildlife-watchers, photographers, artists, and families will appreciate the farm scenery, ecosystems and inhabitants, including bald eagles. Wander a mile and a half of trails through forest, hayfields, vegetable gardens, apple orchard, ponds, and riverbank. See chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and cows enjoying their best life. Fish for trout, wade in the river, birdwatch, paint, or reflect by our pond.  Site Amenities:  Each private site has a picnic table, a campfire ring and a unique setting that is hard to beat. Potable water is available at the farmstead. (No electric hookups, dump stations or toilet/bathroom facilities.)  Campfire wood harvested from our own woodlot is available for purchase. (Maine state law prohibits importing firewood). Seasonal farm stand. Please respect that our house, barns, buildings and animals are private. A minimum stay of 2 nights is required.Considerations for safety: Stay at your own risk. Grass and/or gravel surfaces on campsites and trails may be uneven. Unprotected access to waterbodies. Daily farming activities will occur. Livestock are confined by electric fencing. Your pets must be effectively controlled to protect them, our animals and wildlife. Off-farm activities: Hike the Appalachian Trail or Borestone Mountain, explore waterfalls in the region, visit local restaurants and micro-breweries, bike our local back roads, or paddle your own kayak or canoe on a scenic local pond with eagle nests and bass fishing (just 15 minutes away). We are located less than 2 miles from the center of Dover-Foxcroft and its conveniences, and within an hour of Monson, Greenville (Moosehead Lake), and Bangor.
