Our RV sites are just off the road in an open area and gated. RV sites have power and water. All other amenities are a short 2-3 minute walk up to our OUTPOST SITE and day use communal picnic area.
OUTPOST CAMPSITE This site we call our ATV-UTV or walk in tenting-camp area. YOU CAN BRING YOUR PERSONAL ATV, or we will bring all your gear up to your campsite with our camp side-by-side. ( 2-3 minute walk if you want to walk or backpack in-or we can drive you up too!).
The camp area offers a screened building with table and outdoor sink for day use, complete with a campfire pit. You will camp with 17 acres of privacy. Water and electric on site.
If you like CAMPING, but you are not a campground type person, THE OUTPOST may be for you. My goal as a host is that while on your stay at the OUTPOST, you will feel like it’s your own…….quite…..peaceful…..private….scenic.
Anglers will delight in our 2,000 feet of brook frontage with trout by the state of Maine (fishing license required). We also have a stocked fish pond a short walk through the woods to Agape Acres for your viewing enjoyment or a picnic.( no fishing on this pond ). There are a number of GREAT small bass ponds in our area just minutes away! Also, disc golf and 3 local trails- STREAKED MOUNTAIN TRAIL, PACKARD TRAIL, and the LOWELL TRAIL are within a 10 minute drive.
******RV campers will appreciate our 50 amp and 30 amp service options. Best of all, access to all amenities is included with your reservation, allowing you to fully enjoy your stay. The OUTPOST SITE communal outdoor summer kitchen use provided free. Walk in sites are separated well but share the fire pit and summer kitchen and sink and bathhouse-I recommend reserving BOTH SITES for total privacy

Family owned property obtained through the barter system. You shingle my barn and I'll give you that property. My Pappy's land. 11 acres. Recently cleared for its timber. With some landscaping it became clear that beautiful campsites were forming. My father is 78 years old. The last thing he ever thought he would be doing with his retirement is jumping back on his excavator. Can't keep a good man down. Now here we are. Father and daughter. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season.
2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet.
Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any.
2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience.

2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. I look forward to hosting new and repeat campers. There is a free weekend offer for those who would like to camp and work to prepare for Memorial Day weekend. WELCOME ALL!!

When you think the road ends keep dricing a short distance and you will syart seeing signs. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles.
We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Sometimes I resist writing a good review because we all want to keep hidden gems hidden. I love this place. The location was easy to find, close to groceries and gas, and the host couldn’t be more welcoming, warm and gracious. We tented with a lake view which gave us access to the bathhouse. Not heated, but hot showers. The property is clean and well maintained, with beach and water access. Will be back again!

My wife and I had the best trip of the year staying at Art’s camp, he has put so much time and effort into ensuring that campers have everything they need. The property is so beautiful and the shower is great. We immediately connected, he is a good man and really cares about the people who come to camp there. He recommended several places to fish and eat while we were there as well as places to hike. All in all a really awesome experience for our first time with HipCamp.

I agree with all the other nice things said in the previous reviews! I didn't have any issue getting to sleep in my tent in the tent/RV spots just off the road, the distance between the road and camp + the line of trees really helped, but I'm also not a light sleeper, so take that into account! Art was a great and accommodating host, wish we could've spent a bit more time. Definitely secluded/private but still with all of the comforting amenities!

Art was the best as a host... Responsive and so enthusiastic about his surroundings. The accomodations [up the hill for me] were clean and plentiful. Art even offered to open the cabin for me if I wished. Especially appreciated was the bottled water to refill my cantene as I did a lot of outside work in the sun...nice to know the water was so pure.
The sight is a bit close to the transfer station for my likes; however, for those in tents or the lovely little cabins up the hill this would not be a problem. Also not a problem at night and on the weekends.
Oxford County in Maine is my stomping grounds. I hope many of you will come and visit. You will love Agape!

We had the whole place to ourselves with pick of the land. This was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of adventures! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing 3 wild turkeys and waking up to the sound of the leaves in the trees above rustle in the wind. If you want a slice of peace, camp here.

Great grassy area with trees to setup tents in. As others have mentioned, Rheanna was super friendly and helpful during our stay. We camped a short walk to the lake and couple see fireworks from across the pond from our spot. Bathroom and shower facilities were awesome and well maintained.

Art has tried to have anything and everything one might need, like a 50->30 amp adapter. We arrived late at night but Art met us there and made sure we got backed in okay. In the morning we walked up to check out the outpost and outdoor kitchen. Such a fun looking spot for a group of friends or family. Ours dogs loved the trails. Thanks for having us Art, we’ll be back!

This is a really nice spot with 2 large campsites right off of RT. 140.
Full hook-ups with 1-30 amp, 1-50 amp with fresh, filtered water available as well as tap for hook-up to your camper. A covered pit toilet with supplies is a short distance up one of the trails.
There is no dump station or picnic table but Art did provide a 6' folding table for us to use, free of charge.
There is 1 large, heavy duty fire ring to share. Dry firewood is 15.00 for two big bundles. This is literally the first camping place we've been to where the firewood was seasoned, dry & with all the bark intact. It made an awesome fire!!
Quiet in the afternoons & evenings. Rt. 140 is busy during the day.
There is a long trail uphill to a big clearing with enough room for many tent spots, complete with shower, pit toilet & communal kitchen which has a propane grill.
Nicely maintained trails with one leading to the river and quite a few other nature walking trails. Good for mountain biking & there is fishing at the river if you are so inclined.
Art, the owner of the land & bike shop is super nice & accommodating. We didn't have the correct plug for a 50 amp conversion so he brought one for us to use, also free of charge. He also checked in with us after a few days to make sure we had everything we needed.
An unexpected bonus is that if you book more than 4 days Art blocks off that time so folks have the place to themselves
