Located about 15 minutes from downtown Natchitoches on a quiet street that parallels the bayou Bourbeaux. Giant ancient oaks tower over the property. There are old pecan trees and lots and lots of flat green grass. You can put your tent or rv/trailer/camper/car/boat/atv basically anywhere you’d like. There’s a central fire pit in the grassy area and a propane one on the porch.
We have hammocks and giant connect 4, jenga, tic tac toe and cornhole. There’s also an unheated seasonal above ground pool you can use with a waiver.
Tents: There is no outhouse but for an extra charge we can provide a porta potty and potty tent as well as a water pump for water. Breakfast is included in the price.
RVs: we prefer you be self contained but if you need electric you can park on our driveway and use the outlet on the side of the house. We can fill you up with water from the hose if needed. Breakfast is included at the bed and breakfast!
Lodging: this is also a full service bed and breakfast.
We are the PERFECT spot to host family reunions. Families can camp and use the bed and breakfast for the weekend with plenty of space for everyone!
We also host small weddings!
It’s quiet. Birds are always chirping. You can watch the beautiful sunrise each morning from the rocking chairs on the old farmhouse porch. Have s’mores and watch the stars at night. Explore Natchitoches and the many nearby lakes during the day.
We can also rent you kayaks.

I built a culinary herb farm and nursery on the plantation grounds, in which I was named after by my family. My farm is called Louisiana Herbs LLC. Their are plenty of great sites to pitch a tent and camp in the plantation gardens or on the river bank. Come enjoy beautiful Lake Bistineau! We are located in a cove with access to the main channel. We have a boat launch on the property for guests to use. The dock is off limits, but you are welcome to fish from the shoreline or bring your own boat/kayak/canoe to launch from our boat launch. From about end of July - February, they drain the lake and you will not be able to launch a boat with a vehicle. You can still get access to the water with a canoe or kayak by walking but the boat launch will not be usable. Lake Bistineau has a Salvania problem, so during March - June, the water is usually pretty clear, good for fishing, swimming and boating. Mid-June and July, there could be enough salvania to make fishing by the shore and swimming not good. During this time, we recommend you have some way to reach deeper water by boat/canoe/kayak/pirouge to enjoy better fishing and swimming. You will see examples of the salvania in the picutres posted.

Huckleberry Hideaway was such a safe haven of pure natural love. To the owners, Steve & Kristi who gave just great smiles, hospatality, snacks and more. Painting rocks and scavenging for treasures and sights was such a blast for me and my husband. You have a wonderful, beautiful property. To the host, Lundy, who let us bother him with late access to the store, we appreciate your hard work and dedication to make sure the residents get what we need even after hours. We love to fish the I must say, the pond is my most favorite attraction of them all. lol along side the gorgeous outdoor handcrafted Huckleberry throne, bicycle plant pot man and so much more. The primitive camping and the RV set ups were so comfortable, clean and stocked. We will definitely be coming back!!

The tent site was very cozy, close to the water. There were lots of frogs singing when I arrived around 10 pm. There was a concrete pad I could park my motorcycle on.

Phildon was super communicative wven when not on site. Recommended a perfect available pitch and answered all questions quickly. My tip would be to aak for WiFi password before arrival as we had zero signal with Verizon and had to drive out to get supplies and a signal. We did not use the bathrooms or laundry facilities so cannot comment on those. Hook up was 50 amps. Phildon had an 50-30 adaptor if required but we had our own. Lovely little spot in the Bayou.

Nice quiet out of the way campsite with several spots to choose from. Sit and watch the lazy water drift by on the bayou as you listen to the frogs from the backwater creek. This was a peaceful stop for us and the host was accommodating, helpful, and informative. There is a shower house and laundry as well as WiFi, and full hook ups. We highly recommend this site. Easily fit a 35 foot rig. It was surprisingly easy to get to.

Jan's camping land was perfectly peaceful and exactly what anybody looking for a stop over for the night would want. It's far enough from the university to feel the tranquility of nature, she offers an incredible outdoor shower and a great fire pit to lounge by or cook your dinner over. The bathroom situation was great, and we could not recommend this land more!
