Neighborhood overview
Very quiet here almost all of the time but there is a possibility for noise especially on some major holiday weekends. Usually if someone comes down the road it is the Post Man, UPS or Fed EX except for the 4th of July when our boat dock is often a prime location for a big fireworks display. Usually can't tell a Saturday from a Tuesday most of the time as 80-90% of houses in the area are second vacation homes and unoccupied most of the year. Only 2 houses are located past ours before the cul-de-sac. We are separated by trees and woods on both sides. Private yet very Conveniently located.
Getting around
Plenty of Convenient Parking located across the concrete driveway. A Large Heavy Duty Wagon is Available for loading and unloading. Plenty of Great biking and hiking spaces are all around. Close to Knoxville, Cumberland Gap, The Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC and plenty of options should you choose to leave the lake for a while or your against fishing in the rain.
We are located approximately 8 Miles to New Tazewell Municipal Airport and about 9 Miles to Woodlake Golf & Country Club. Hospital, Veterinarian, Groceries, Walmart, Dollar Stores, Subway, McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Local Dining, Antiques & Thrift Shops, etc. all within a 5-7 Mile Drive. Awesome hiking in and around the national and state parks and all over the area to Magic Places like The White Rocks or the Sand Cave or water falls and rivers as well as more historical trails from Daniel Boone heading west to the Tri State Marker. Lots of things to do like Annual events, local and regional Music, Sports, River Rafting, Coffee Shops, Dirt Track Racing, Farms, Horses, Wineries, National, State & Local Parks, University, Museums and much more to discover

Beautiful setting!!!
Everything looks very new and well-kept.
Nice concrete pads with pull-through and back -in sites.
The Appalachian museum next door and there are lots of places to visit close by.
We will be back!!! Would definitely come back!!!

So quiet and easy! Great communication.
This is a particularly good spot for trailers and self-contained camping. They have provided a very nice, large, level, gravel pad with a great fire ring. If you plan to sleep on the ground, the large gravel could be uncomfortable. The owl sounds and night sky were absolutely memorable!

We had a great stay! Very private but easy to get to. We love coming to Big South Fork area for hiking. This time did a hike at Colditz Cove State Natural Area down to the water fall there and also spent some time visiting historic Rugby TN. Had a great lunch and ice cream at RM Brooks general store in Rugby. Lori was great communicator snd made sure we had all info we needed before out visit. Hope to be back.

We had a lovely time! Maynard, our host, was very kind and made us feel welcome. Firewood aplenty, running water, and two tables at the site. Very clean and well kept! Bonus points - we didn’t see any ticks after three days, impressive in TN. Our dogs enjoyed romping in the sun near our campsite. We could hear some neighboring hounds at night, and the nearby horses / donkey were sweet. Very quiet throughout the day. Would absolutely visit again!

We needed a stop along our journey from Georgia to Ohio and this campsite worked really well for us. The host was very kind and the location was extremely clean. Walking distance to the Appalachian Museum made for great little jaunts passing the donkeys and goats that call the place home. Coffee on way out of town at the Brewtopia Craft Coffee truck topped off our brief overnight adventure!

We picked a HOT weekend but thankfully the campsite is nestled back into the trees. The shade made a noticeable difference in temperature. We were very comfortable despite the heat wave. The site also butts up against a fence line so we were delighted when a group of horses, ponies, goats, and one donkey stopped by to say hi. They were curious but weren’t any trouble. Enjoyed the two nights we were there.

Everything was great! Maynard has great hospitality, he checked in on us a few times as we got set up. Bit of a walk to get large firewood, but it is included so its worth the walk (maybe 100yd if that.). Steep but fun hiking trails right on the property, behind the cabin at the end of the drive. Site was flat and had a great view, it rained our whole visit practically and the ground never flooded. 10/10!

WE LOVED CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN AND PLANNED TO RETURN!! Maynard was very professional and friendly, he gave us helpful camping tips and advice and his hospitality was very welcoming. The views were beautiful and so was the campsite. We have nothing to complain about and we highly recommend the campsite at crystal Mountain. We will be booking very shortly again:)

Very Nice Campsite. Maynard was very professional and gave us tips for our next camping adventure. It was very private and there was plenty of firewood available for us to use. All around I would rate 10/10. Would definitely recommend to anyone camping for one night or one week.
