IMPORTANT: We do not accept late-night bookings or late arrivals. All guests must arrive by 6 PM local time.
This allows us to personally greet you and guide you to your glamping site or campsite. We have 3 boat launches right on the Cumberland River within 3 miles. You can hike, swim, kayak, canoe, jetski, boat, or float on the river. There are several marinas within 30 minutes. It's important to know that this is a raw and challenging terrain. It's a mountain or some may say a hill. We call it a mountain because of the rock bluffs, cliffs, and dramatic nature of this spot. As such, there are cliffs you could fall off, trails that are difficult and dangerous at times depending on your hiking skill level. These are for the adventurous type and use is at your own risk.This property has a magical feel and really allows you to connect with nature in a peaceful, beautiful, and serene place. A cozy night for two (or four) in a tipi! A family reunion, or an outdoor wedding. We are able to offer three sioux-styled tipi's. Rent one tipi or rent the entire village for a birthday party or gathering. Outdoor wedding packages are available! These are 18 foot tipi's surrounded in a nature setting. We have picnic and grilling areas on-site along with a full bathroom and kitchen located at The Tipi Village office, located in a small log cabin. Each tipi has it's own sitting area and firepit, suitable for cooking. The village also has a community firepit where everyone can gather. Renting the entire campground is a great way to have a party or celebration and having exclusive use of this micro-campground. The Property:
Located north of Cookeville in the rolling hills and farmland, our property is on Spring Creek, a state scenic river. Situated between two waterfalls and featuring over half a mile of river frontage to explore. Float, fish and relax listening to the cascading water. Perfect for bird watchers- blue and green herons, ospreys, hawks, bald eagles and more. You may spot the creek critters- minks, beavers, and otters. Various types of bass, craw dad's and minnows are in the creek.
We operate similar to a state park. We are open to the public from 10am-7pm, peak season. We have other listings that are spaced so each of our guests has privacy. Please see aerial photo for an overview. We sometimes have small events (birthday parties, ect) at the pavilion. Please feel free to message us first, if you would like to see if there are any events during your stay.
There are 2 restrooms centrally located at the pavilion. One bathroom has a shower with hot water, soap, shampoo/conditioner included. The restrooms are shared with our other listings. There are USB and regular outlets in the pavilion and WiFi. During warm season the outdoor kitchen is available as well.
We also rent out a Suite which is located above the pavilion.
Quiet hours are 10pm-8am.
Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and picked up after. Please note there is a gun range 2 hollers away and depending on the season, it can be heard from our property.
Tent in the Trees Listing:
Your tent site is built above the trail and overlooking the creek.
The tent is equipped with a queen bed, linens, extra blankets & essential cooking gear. There is a fire pit with grill and griddles for cooking over wood or charcoal. Really, all you need is clothes, food and drink!
Primitive Camp Site:
The rustic camp site is DIY. It is 300' from pavilion, and 600' from Tent in the Trees. We provide a picnic table and fire pit You bring all the rest of your gear. Typically, you may park next to your campsite.
No RV's, converted vans are permitted. If you have a very small camper, please message us to see if we can accommodate. There are no hookups, and no loud generators allowed.

The space
Creekdance is located on 20 acres of prime Kentucky vegetation in the hills of Kentucky. Dry Fork Creek runs adjacent to the entire property. While it is not deep enough to kayak, it is certainly fun to dip your toes in and walk through the ever-flowing water.
Several walking paths and bird boxes can be found throughout the property. It is a great place to write, paint, read, do yoga or just rejuvenate and "get right" with nature.
Get the best sleep of your life on a Nectar mattress with the sounds of the creek drifting through the window.

Guest access
Guests have a private cabin all to themselves. They may feel free to wander around the property, venture onto the walking paths, walk in the creek, etc. The only space that is off limits is my cabin down the creek. Of course, if there is some kind of emergency, feel free to come find me.
Other things to note
While pets are allowed, there will be a $25 charge per day/per pet, paid to hosts upon arrival. I have a very friendly dog of my own on the property who free-roams. Also, if guests leave their pets in the cabin while they are gone, the pets must be crated.
Inside the cabin, the bathroom is equipped with an Incinolet toilet. I find that it is quite efficient if used properly. Instructions will be given upon arrival and are included on the wall in the bathroom.
We can only accommodate TWO guests at a time in the cabin due to the Incinolet's capability.

Please request the use of the Fire Pit as it depends on wind conditions with crops growing in the fields.
We have a charcoal grill available for guest use. You must bring your own charcoal, lighting fluid, and matches. Please let us know if you use the grill so we can clean it out after the charcoal cools.

Absolutely beautiful property. Not far from Mammoth Cave. 2D was a fantastic host, answered all our questions, and made sure we had what we needed to have a good trip. Truly a kind and hospitable man. Stayed 3 nights in dream catcher. It felt like falling asleep on a cabin porch. Will definitely be back. Could see this being a fun place for kids. Lots of woods, a river, and buildings on the property to explore. First time using hipcamp. So happy it went as well as it did!

Barren River Magic is magical, indeed! The farm is breathtaking, the facilities are perfectly maintained, and 2d is so kind and helpful! We stayed in the RV and it was such a treat. Our dog absolutely loved splashing around in the river and just enjoyed being off-leash in general. I truly can’t recommend this place enough. 5 stars with no hesitation!

The stay was really nice! We enjoyed the fire in the evening and went in to the tent as the night went on. After it got cold enough, we used the gas heater and it was more than enough to keep us warm.
The potable water is limited, so if you need lots (cooking, cleaning) be sure to bring it in.
It was extremely private and lovely, but it looks like there may be a new cabin being built at the top of a very nearby hill which would make the place much less private. We prefer solo private spots, so we might need to check on this for future stays.

The peace pipe is a campers refuge! I loved the lower level sitting area, brought along flowers and a tablecloth and it made for a beautiful meditation/yoga sanctuary. The upstairs sleeping loft was a reprieve from the heat and had the best views of the land! Mostly, we spent our free time star gazing and strolling the river. It was an amazing getaway and we can't wait to come back!
