Weekend Trip to Hidden Timbers Homestead

Absolutely loved my stay here. The bathroom is so nice and the weather was gorgeous. The sweetest cat you’ll ever meet is here. I felt safe and comfortable, and will definitely be going back on my next trip out west!

This was a quick stay for me and it had everything that I was looking for. I really enjoyed all the big trees providing shade and the sounds of the birds in the morning. Lauren was very welcoming and thoughtful when a storm rolled in.

We enjoyed the clean and beautifully decorated bell tent. Perfectly nestled in the trees making a camping experience without the discomfort and work of traditional tent camping. It gave us the opportunity to disconnect from the hold of electronics and enjoy family time. In addition to the wonderful hosts and their family a highlight was the comfort of home with restroom facilities. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

Totum was a relaxing property maybe 150 feet away from a creek that was super relaxing to listen to all night. The campsite as a whole is super eccentric while still remaining cozy. 10/10

We had an excellent time tent camping at this site! Couldn’t ask for a more peaceful getaway! Upon arriving we were immediately greeted by 3 of the nicest dogs we’ve ever met. They gave us great company during the day and helped us feel safe at night! Patti was kind enough to bring us some farm fresh eggs which we were very thankful for! Would absolutely stay here again and hope to soon!

Beautiful piece of land in a beautiful county, decorated with vintage Americana, isolated from highways. On the way home, stumbled upon Ace Coffee Shop in Cave City, maybe the coolest cafe I've ever been to.

We come through Nashville several times a year and the Nashville Nook is now our go-to place. We've stayed at other locations in town that were too far away, too expensive or too noisy, but the nook is just right. It's convenient, private and serene with the hookups we need. Elisabeth is also the best communicator--very responsive and helpful. As always, we will be back!

Very nice site. We loved it and definitely recommend. However, if you are not from Tennessee beware of the ticks- holy cow!

Upon arrival I was greeted by their friendly farm dogs, which stayed with me at my camp all night. Patti was very welcoming and gave me fresh farm eggs. The site is the furthest away from the road and neighbors the creek’s small falls that lulled me to sleep. The dogs kept the critters at bay and were a welcome site in the morning. Great site!

Lauren’s homestead was beautiful and both our hosts were great about communicating and letting us play on the property with our toddler. A unique experience and we would definitely stay again if we come back to the area.

Barbara is a wonderful host - always available but never in your way. Her little haven is very peaceful and the animals are incredible. My dog and I had a very relaxing stay!

Barbara is so nice and very accommodating! We needed a last minute place to camp while moving across the country and she took us in no problem. You can see the love she puts into her animals by how happy they are. We especially loved her friendly kitty’s! She made our short stay memorable for us and our daughter, who got to help feed one of the baby goats. -good communication -easy to find -clean and tidy -great soft tent spot Thanks again! Elizabeth created the perfect nook for easy, level back-in site. We chose it for its short drive to downtown Nashville, but extra bonus for being in a peaceful country setting. We look forward to returning!

Chatty Heifer Farm

The family we bought the farm from owned and farmed it since 1900. They built a cabin then and built a house around the cabin in 1920. We bought it in 2018 and have been renovating it to build a retreat center for first responders and others who serve unselfishly. To that end, we've cut hiking trails and campsites as well as filling the farm with livestock to help people slow down and de-stress. We're located in the beautiful green hills about an hour east of Nashville, Tennessee. Learn more about this land:Drift off to sleep with the sounds of a year-round creek just outside your campsite. Wake up to a beautiful meadow surrounded by green hills in rural Tennessee. Campsites are located on a 120 year old farm under restoration, which is family owned and operated. Get some time away. You'll have privacy as you explore the farm: wade the creek, sway on the tire swing, visit the farm animals (goats, cows, pigs, and chickens), pick wild berries, and sample farm fresh produce and eggs when available. Hiking trails are also available on the farm through tranquil woods.Property is easily accessible from Nashville. In addition, day trips are possible to several lakes, rivers, waterfalls, historic sites, civil war battlefields, state parks, and national wildlife areas.

Hidden Door Farm is a non-profit 501(c)(3) wellness farm about 40 minutes outside of downtown Nashville. Our rescue donkeys and Nigerian Dwarf Therapy Goats have had hundreds of hours of socialization, this allows for the best guest interaction. Our kids are guaranteed to make you smile! We offer a customized 35-45 minute wellness session with our goats and/or our rescue donkeys for $45 per guest. Please arrange at time of booking if possible. Upon request and if there is availability we will accept longer bookings. There are variety of seating options (including a hammock) on property and several fire pits (depending on wind) are available. We usually have firewood available for guest use as well. Learn more about this land: This is a horse ranch so you can sleep in the company of horses or in the woods with them in the distance ( check if available/storm damage).We have rolling hills, beautiful views from the hill tops, valley with creeks and a waterfall when not in dry or draught and an abundance of wildlife. Also we're located 5-10 minutes from mammoth cave park border, hike, bike and horse trails, river, lake, blue holler atv park and so much more. If you are sensitive to animal noises you may bring earplugs. There isn't a bathroom/ shower house yet so we ask that you bring a port-a-pot of some sort. We're constantly making upgrades to the Ranch so we hope you enjoy your stay. Please refrain from feeding the horses or dogs because it creates a bad habit and folks that don't know how sensitive a horses gut is can possibly kill them. Respect privacy of others and pack out all that you pack in. Shut any gates you come through.please understand that my horses are of all ages and that includes young ones and babies and seniors as well. The young ones like to be nosey and are still learning what they are allowed to do and what not to do. They are naturally curious and love attention. If they think you have snacks , they can act like a pack of kindergarteners with the promise of cupcakes...we don't want that but because some campers think they are the exception and gave them snacks, it is something we have to monitor more closely. Remember they are animals and they will get into anything if it's left unattended. Please be a responsible camper and ensure we all stay safe and enjoy the experience.We have a section for folks to park in if they do not want to be so close to the horses as well. If you don't like horses or dogs please consider alternative camp site. Limited pet allowance...check before booking please. Also, we've had issues with the site and it offering horse time, ride, Q&A etc. for 5$. We've taken steps to fix this. But if you would like something like that it would be through the Ranch directly and as our time allows. Thank you for taking the time to read everything as well.
