When you want to get away to nature, what do you envision? We're a family that loves to camp; and while we love a stop at a KOA or community campground, we sometimes crave quiet time in nature without the noise and distraction of other campers.
That's what makes The LAAAAND so special. The property is comprised of 50 pristine acres, with a mix of fields and woods, that bump up against another 250 acres owned by our family friends. The southern perimeter of the property is all cliff line, so you feel truly remote. The possibilities of sound pollution are limited to a far-off dog barking, horses being ridden down a nearby trail, or the possible hum of a distant lumber yard. Other than that, you'll mostly hear the wind rustling trees, deer and critters making their way through the woods, and possibly a waterfall at certain times of the year. Oh, and you will absolutely hear whipoorwhills, most likely at a time you'd rather not (we've decided they're charming).
Over the nearly 2 decades we've owned this property we have spent countless weekends enjoying the simplest of pleasures; watching butterflies dance in the tree canopy, having dance parties at sunset on the deck, forging new trails and hiking into the unkown, sitting in the truck bed late at night gazing at a star-covered sky counting shooting stars.

We had an absolutely amazing time at The LAAAAND. The views were stunning in every direction, and the trails were a blast to hike beautiful, and full of variety. We only had two days to explore and easily could’ve spent a full week out there and still not seen everything.
The campsite was peaceful, well stocked with firewood, spacious, and perfect for unplugging. We’ll definitely be back again!

I didn't get to camp bc the weekend i reserved was 20 degrees and i didn't want to do it. I still want to leave a good review because they kept good contact and emails of everything i needed to know on how to get there and a even a video of the road leading up to the camp. Im planning on reserving again when its not so cold!

Everything about the location, setup, and scenery are absolutely perfect! The little touches of extras was unexpected and definitely welcomed! The grill rack, extra chairs, table were awesome, and the canopy came in clutch when we arrived while it was raining. We brought a couple bundles of wood just in case, and was surprised to see plenty of precut wood to use as well!
The short hikes to the cliff and waterfalls are amazing, and the sights were incredible! Just be extra careful if it rains while you are there. Parts of the hike/climbing can be extremely slippery, especially on the more sloped areas.
Absolutely would stay here again and again!

No wonder you have 100% on your reviews. The property is beautiful and the view overlooking the Daniel Boone National Forest is amazing. The camping spot was easy to get to with my Pickup truck and 16’ Sunray Sport Camper. The areas to hike and explore are well marked and there’s plenty of rock features to check out. Also not far from the Red River Gorge area to check out the Rock bridge and the Nada tunnel. Thank you for sharing your amazing property!

Very pretty and secluded. Beautiful fall colors, be aware of falling acorns in the fall. The first time one hits you camper its loud 🤣 had some wild turkeys hanging around that were cool. I wish they had a trash can by the gate for when you leave, that would be helpful. We enjoyed our stay and the quite solitude of nature.

We loved tent camping on this land not too far from Red River Gorge hiking. The deck offered a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There was a great short path to an overlook, too. Directions were helpful and easy to follow. A very quiet nights rest.

This spot is so special and tucked away! Shady and cool, beautiful views, paths to walk around and explore. An amazing platform deck with 4 plastic Adirondack chairs included, and a picnic table, as well. A couple of good trees to hang a hammock from. I enjoyed hearing and looking for all the birds around! We felt very safe and secure. The entrance gate at the front can lock you in. About 30 minutes north of all the Red River Gorge has to offer, with a fun trip through the Nada Tunnel to get there! We stayed 5 nights and still hated to leave!

Everything about my stay was fantastic! Thank you to the hosts for making this great place available. I’ll definitely be back when I’m passing through again.
Access was super easy with my 24ft AWD Class C RV, which made arriving stress-free. The spot is perfectly located—so close to amazing Red River Gorge hiking. The view from the cliff is absolutely stunning, and at night the sounds of crickets and tree frogs created the perfect peaceful backdrop. I even got a natural wake-up call from distant roosters, but thankfully not too early.
Overall, such a wonderful stay and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

This property was amazing. It looks just like the pictures!! I’m not gonna lie I was a little worried that I’d be freaked out by the camper on the property but after a few hours I got used to it and didn’t mind it at all. When I think of this property, I think of the words: impressive, gorgeous, beautiful, peaceful, amazing, natural, private. I will admit, I am a bit of chicken and afraid of the dark (also bugs, snakes, you name it lol) so this place tested my resilience lol, but boy oh boy it was worth it!!!! I felt SO connected to nature out there. The stars were absolutely breathtaking. Not to mention, you are SUPER close to Natural Bridge, Nada tunnel, RRG and so on. It’s a wonderful place and I am so grateful to have experienced it!!!

This site was wonderful & exactly like the description! It’s 15-30 mins from food, gas, multiple waterfalls & we felt safe. It was awesome letting the dogs run loose w/o neighbors to annoy & having this beautiful property to ourselves! The waterfall & creek is about 10 mins down a mtn to the north but was not a lot of water to bathe or get in (even with rain the day before) but was so cool exploring with cliffs & lil caves all around the property. You need good shoes though (not flip flops) it’s pretty steep & not an easy hike back up! The cliff overlook is an easy 3 min from the dock but still need to be careful esp at the corner of the cliffs coming back up, my soda slipped out and slid off the cliff - shows how easy it would be to fall off yourself if you lose your footing! The horse trail was too overgrown to follow on foot but was an easier hike up & down the mtn but would take about an hour to get to the waterfall & was the only place I got a tick.
We could’ve stayed a month - it was perfect! Never saw another person the whole time onsite! Thank you for sharing your serene, amazing property with us - it truly was 50 acres to ourselves!!! We would love to come back again!
My only suggestion would be to put a platform at base of the water pump as it was hard to hold my water container & stand w/o flat footing around (the land has washed away around it, leaving it on an incline). And the kids kept wanting to use the porta-john lol that would’ve been convenient :)

I don’t even know where to start! This property is absolutely gorgeous. The trail markers around the property show off some of the coolest spots, but even just relaxing by the fire pit was beautiful. Lots of wildlife sounds especially at night. The site is very secluded and feels like a backcountry camp! This is my favorite Hipcamp find so far! Will hopefully be back soon :)

My wife and I stayed here with our pup in a rooftop tent on our truck. We had an unbelievable time and the land was incredible to stay on. Back by the deck there was plenty of shade, keeping it very cool and comfortable in 80°F+ temps. We were very much in the woods, so be sure to treat any dogs for ticks.
There were 3 trails on the property that were fun to walk. I would suggest being prepared to walk around in the woods for a while if you plan to walk them. The markings were tough to follow and some of the trials felt more like a deer path than a trail.
Overall, I would give it 5/5 as far as a fun place to stay!
