This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy!

My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family.
Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile.
Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy.
Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Such a beautiful, quiet location right on the water. All of the sites are maintained well along with the amenities. There’s a porta potty near the campsites themselves and then a small bathroom/shower room a little up the drive on the main property. I know the site areas have a history of flooding easily since it’s right on the water, luckily I had amazing weather while there and I know I would have been accommodated on the upper land area if need be!

This is an excellent location and the host was wonderful. I was camping by myself with my little dog. It was nice knowing that if I needed anything I could just call Amber. The restroom with sink, flushing toilet and shower were very cleaned and maintained. If you couldn’t make it to the top of the ridge from the lake shoreline, there was even a porta potty near by. The even noticed that some gravel needed to be added to assist cars getting up and down to/from the river banks so they brought more gravel in. Convenience store and grocery were very close by. Made a few runs for ice during my stay and grocery had all I needed-( although I did get some tainted meat from the IGA that made me sick one night). Only issues I had were a loud group of college aged men that came in one night at 9pm and stayed up pretty late and were a little loud; they were right next to my camp. But during the day it was beautiful and peaceful. All in all, highly recommend and will most likely go back. Can’t beat the price too! Thanks Amber!

This is the perfect spot if you want to get away from it all. Its remote, serene, and we'll kept. Its not a big park, nor is it a resort, but it was lovely. There arent amenities, but there are farm animals, green grass, blue sky and quiet.
Amber, the owner, is a truly kind human and she cares for her guests and her animals. She even provides a bucket to save scraps for her chickens! I absolutely loved being there and hope we can return again.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds I've been to. Plus it was close to other falls and kayak launches. Cleanest port o potty I have ever seen, and the shower stayed warm long enough for both my son and I to get decent showers. I do recommend a large bucket for water, we only brought a small one and it's about .5 mile walk up the drive to get potable water. Also bring tick spray, I had 5, my husband 2, and my youngest 3. There are some that help if sprayed beforehand on the site and clothes, I just didn't think of it, and we may have just walked into a hatch. Also, where we stayed the swimming is not good for kids, too stong of a current, but further down we noticed there are larger rocks and it gets shallower, so if you have kids I recommend a site downstream. Overall it's a gorgeous place to stay, Amber and the gentleman that helps are very kind. Its quiet and safe and our kids didn't want to leave, even though they could not access internet! Which was also very nice!

This place is clean and cared for. The horse riders that stayed there was as friendly as they come. Let me tell you, the owner cares about his customers as I watched him take care of 4 older ladies beside us with fire wood. In today’s time and age customer service is hard to find so if you need to find it go to Rustling Pines you will definitely find customer service.

10 ft campervan
This place was easy to find; beautiful drive, beautiful land!
Although I was up by the RV’s & restroom, I took a walk down by the river where the tent camping is. I was only there to sleep, basically.
But the river sites are incredible! I’m SO coming back to camp down there, & taking a few days for it. Amber was awesome!
