Come reconnect with nature and rejuvenate by the water at this unforgettable escape. Stargaze, watch sunsets, or curl up and read on the 15 foot hammock by the water. You’ll see lots of wildlife-ducks, geese, a great blue heron, deer, and more have been spotted by the pond.
The pond is about an acre in size and we also own the hay field south of the pond all the way to the road. You are welcome to walk around the pond on the path we’ve mowed and can also walk the field (depending on the time of year). It’s a hay field and you’ll see all sorts of vegetation growing up, including some beautiful wildflowers in the spring.
The RV spot is in a large grassy area next to an apple and peach tree. We also have a small asparagus patch and a raised bucket garden with tomatoes. Feel free to grab a couple items to add to your dinner as needed (depending on the season).
We do have barn cats (and frequently kittens) that might venture over to say hello and a new puppy named Pepper. Pepper loves new people, but wears a collar connected to an electric fence outside, so he won’t be able to reach your rv spot. However, you are more than welcome to walk to him and give him all the love and snuggles. We also have three children that you may see outside climbing trees, reading in homemade hammocks, or playing cabbage ball in the yard.
For the explorers, there are plenty of gravel roads to bike, kayaks and a paddleboat available for the pond. There is also an apple orchard up the road that has a small storefront and a mini golf course in the back. Emporia is only 4 miles south of us so there’s plenty of grocery stores and restaurants nearby.

This campground can be found within city limits of Dwight, Ks located in northern Morris County along the Union Pacific Railroad line. It's the perfect place to stay during your back road adventure through the Flint Hills.
Enjoy exploring the four corners of our small town on two feet, two wheels or four. Have a picnic or play horseshoes at the City Park, visit the Dwight Library or attend a Sunday service at the Community Church. On Main Street you can find two large limestone structures from the early days of Dwight - the old limestone hardware store and the limestone bank/post office.
Dwight is minutes from Ag Heritage Park and Museum in Alta Vista; the historic Council Grove with shopping, restaurants, lakes and Flint Hills Nature Trail; and Fort Riley Army Base, home of the Big Red 1.

We stayed over night on a cross country trip and had a wonderful time. Beverly is very kind and welcoming. The dogs, sheep and goats were very nice. She has 50 amp plugs for RVs (no 30 amp), but be aware these are likely 15 amp breakers. Ran our ac just fine but we didn't push it. If your rv is more than 20 ft, it's gonna be pretty tight. Do not try it with a 5 th wheel.

What an amazing place to stay. We were at Brenda’s for 5 nights as we were in town for Unbound. It suited our needs perfectly! It is off the beaten path, but just a few miles from town. Just acres of pure calm, serenity, and relaxation. Ellie, our Boykin, ran her little self silly around the property. The RR and shower facility she has available for guest use was very nice and a great addition and well-appointed. We can’t say enough about Brenda. She checked on us each day and made sure we were in need of nothing. Thank you, Brenda, for such a beautiful experience our first time in Kansas. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

It was great, the hosts are the nicest people I’ve met. They were helpful and kind, the views are great. There is an amazing outdoor hot shower and the campground is right next to the flint hills trail. I have spend a week here preparing and riding Unbound, it was the perfect week in Kansas. Leah’s place was absolutely incredible. We had such a relaxing and memorable stay and cannot recommend it enough. The property is peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for anyone wanting to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. We spent our time sitting around the fire cooking in the Dutch oven, fishing, walking around the lake, watching sunsets, and just enjoying the quiet scenery.
One of the highlights was getting to play with the kittens — such a fun and unique touch that made the experience even more memorable. The campsite itself was spacious, well kept, and perfect for evenings around the fire under the stars. Watching movies outside by the campfire was something special.
And for anyone who loves the outdoors but doesn’t necessarily want to sleep on the ground, Leah also has an unbelievably nice Airbnb right by the lake — a charming little pink house with an ornately decorated French country-style bedroom and a beautiful clawfoot tub. Definitely ask Leah about it because it looked amazing.
Leah was a wonderful host and the entire experience felt welcoming and peaceful from start to finish. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed the lovely view, birds, sunset, access to the bike trail, and the hookup to electricity and water. After our bike ride we used the outdoor cold shower! The porta-potty was quite clean and odor-free. The site is closer to town than I expected and we had some noise from trucks and dogs, but mostly slept well.
