My family settled on this plot of land at the turn of the century, moving west in a covered wagon. And aside from a brief time in the late 80's it has been in our family ever since. For most of the 20th century the property was a small farm, grazing cattle and mowed for bailing hay. We are trying to rejuvenate the property and breathing some new life into this old plot of land. The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away. This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.) We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like. We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!). Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

Currently we have 1 large gravel site with 50, 30 and 20 amp service. There is also sewer but NO water (yet). It was a horse farm, and as such there are several buildings and cattle fences. Very quiet and peaceful but close to Centerton and Bentonville. This is self-serve, no one lives out there. Small town of Jasper is a few miles away, with RoadHouse Grocery and Liquor store, RV dump stations on both sides of the highway, and 4 fuel stops. Lamar (birthplace of Harry S Truman) is 8 miles north. If you're traveling with horses, there is a 1-acre pen available for holding them overnight. It is 6-strand electrified high-tensile wire with a pipe swing gate and a galvanized water tank. There's also a worked arena with small pens to keep horses separate but adjacent to one another upon request. Negative Coggins required. Prairie hay small squares available for purchase. Riding is not allowed. We have 2 horses on site that are vaccinated and Coggins negative. We have friendly medium-sized dogs. Yours are welcome to run free with the pack. Expect the usual sniffing around and getting to know one another behavior.

Weekend Trip to Bigfoot County Campgrounds

Found some trees perfect for a hammock, hiked down the rock trail, made a campfire cake, had camp coffee and enjoyed the scenery. It was my kind of party. Camper was in good shape, smelled and looked clean. Having a flushable toilet, a queen size bed to sleep in, and the option to use the stove were all very convenient (especially with a 4 year old). Great place for the price, I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was peaceful and fun. Host was responsive.

I had been traveling in Arkansas about 6 hours from home so looked into getting a spot closer to home for the last night and found this spot! It was perfect for that. Felt private and had a fire ring, electricity and port-a-potty. The carport was so nice for shade from sun but the table and chairs were nice to have for cooking and to set my water jug on as well as other things. I made some chili for dinner and went and sat in my lawn chair to watch the sunset. Then moved over to the fire pit (the stargazing was awesome!) before retiring to my car- I was happy to have such a level spot🙌🏼I met the neighbor and his dog on my way out who was so nice and my dog and his dog ended up playing for a bit. It was private the entire time and he was just on his morning walk I think so no worries about being bothered as I didn’t see them any other time. Some traffic passing by on gravel road but nothing too bothersome. I really enjoyed my night here and will love to stay again!

We have gone alone several times, however, Each site has multiple tent spots for larger groups! Creek Front fire Pits!!! We give this 7 stars out of 5! In an effort to preserve this hidden gem... “you definitely don’t camp here, it’s horrible!” — JUST KIDDING! We loved our stay at Buehler Farms, it was such a fun oasis for family and puppy. Totally private, but close enough to town to grab essentials if needed. We loved fishing in the river, caught a ton of creek chub and even a rainbow trout! We’ll definitely be back. This place would even be great for a trip with another family, plenty of room for everyone. (Just bring a good mallet if you plan to stake your tent in the rocky areas). Thanks!!

Weekend Trip to Riverside at Hollyhaven

Just us girls, summer camping trip. Fourth year in a row coming to this site. No other can compare, in our opinion. It's quiet, seems somewhat secluded but still only 7 minutes from a Walmart and 3minutes from a gas station. It's also only 7minutes drive to beautiful Grand Falls. We love to float from the falls to our camp. Very relaxing. Lots of wildlife. The land owners, Phil and Angie, are both super nice and so are their dogs. The restrooms/showers are in good repair and cleaned often. The land is very rocky, consider that if tent camping. The river is always so clear, and it's fun to go see all the beautiful rocks and fish. RV campers- there is a narrow somewhat steep incline/decline onto the property so that may be something to consider if your rig is really long but there were about 20 RV/Campers onsite already and they clearly figured it out just fine. There is also a nice sized beach area open for all campers to enjoy. Always clean when we go. There are several trees but also a lot of open space as well. The on site lake with rope swing is always a hit with our group, too. Overall, our favorite trip every year, hands down.
