We bought the farmette with much work outside and home interior remodel to complete. We slowly turned the property into our family oasis. We neighbor a pasture with cows. There are free range chickens running around during the day. Geese greet us every evening and morning at the pond...as do the many bullfrogs. Occasionally you'll hear the coyotes, but they keep their distance. The stars shine peacefully and the sunsets are picturesque (most afternoons). The pond is a great place to swim and fish. The hillside is a nice walk for exercise or take the easier route and sit under the great oak tree in the other pasture. Campsites are off the road, behind our main home. You won't find a sign...we keep it simple. We allow pets at the sites for a $5 per pet/per night. There are numerous state parks within driving distance for hiking, sight seeing, eagle watching etc. Immerse yourself in the vast history of the area. I wish we could have stayed a bit longer. The town was lovely; the room was sweet; the property was fascinating; and Jessica could not have been kinder. I’d love to stay there again if I get the chance. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed staying at Joan’s and jean’s! The farmhouse has everything you need games, basketball, a full stocked kitchen! We enjoyed being in a rural area and looking at the stars. We loved our stay at this peaceful countryside ranch! The setting was absolutely gorgeous, with rolling fields and farm animals adding to the charm. I can’t say enough good about this place, I had a phenomenal experience, from the hospitality to the general upkeep of the cabin. I was lucky enough to catch two amazing moonrises that lit up the entire valley. Visits from various birds including hummingbirds to the feeder near the deck. Cool, clear and calming evenings. Mary and Rick were extremely kind and responsive to questions along the way. Highly recommended.

3 nights at New Hope Farm

For me it was a time to see all types of wildlife. I saw small birds as the harry woodpeckers and large as the great blue heron. A mink even came to visit from the stream. Two lovely dogs also came for a short visit as well. I place catch with one of them. The cabin is immaculate and ready to meet your needs. The hosts communicate with you and willing to help in anyway possible. There is a small library and my favorite were the Flannery O’Conner stories. I sat in the hammock outside as I read. At night I sat by a fire and watched the half moon rise. The cabin is private and looks out on a meadow on the front and the back screened in porch has a view of the stream gently flowing. You can walk the land and find a path leading into the woods then to a huge meadow. It is a wonderful get away from it all place just to Be.

We loved staying in The Bunkie! We visited with our dog and we all enjoyed our stay. The property is gorgeous and the room is cozy and clean. We enjoyed the outdoor seating areas also. We even took quick showers in the outdoor shower and found it to do the trick! We LOVED the tea from the owner and had everything we needed for our stay. It was hot outside while there but the room stayed comfortable the whole time. It also rained and we loved listening to the rain. It was a lovely stay!

Weekend Trip to 1860's Botanical Homestead

Spent my birthday weekend here with my chosen family (husband, best friends, and thier kids) and we had the tent site and the bunkie. The site was perfect. It was a little uneven as explained in the description but for it having to be cut into the hill we were impressed with how flat it was. Even with it raining alot it didnt get alot of pooling water. The tree cover was great so even when it got heavy we were still able to walk to the cars or the bathroom without getting soaked. The bunkie was clean and very comfortable and had a ton of things that people might forget like garbage bags and flashlights There are alot of stairs and they are handmade so you have to be careful but I appreciated that thier were handrails pretty much everywhere. The property is beautiful. I loved seeing all of the plants. Im a forager so I loved juat walking through and identifying the different plants. They had rented goats to clear alot of the brush on the hill and we got to watch them the first night while they were working which was awesome to see. Jessica is an amazing host and was super sweet with the kids. She let them help her feed them and check for eggs and showed them all the art and work she does. Also, I've never used a porta potty that smelled that good before and showering in the outdoor shower surrounded by nature was honestly magical. 100/10 will come again.

2 nights at 1860's Botanical Homestead

I stayed in the “bunky.” A lovely room with lots of natural light and a sweet little area to sit and enjoy tea or the birds. Jessica was a welcoming host, she even made me strawberry tea and lent me a cooler since I had forgotten mine. Even on a 90 degree day, the room stayed cool with the fans going and windows allowing for a cross breeze.
