The rustic cabin sits on a beautiful ridge. You will have a great view of the sky. Birds and wildlife watching along with listening to them. The property is a second farm that has been in my family's history since the 1960's. We are a working crop, horses and beef cattle farm. We raise crops on this property. We have a main farm down the road that if you would like to visit, we can try setting that up so you can see the animals if you would like. Please note that the cabin has a porta potty outside. The cabin does not have electricity, but an extension cord can be brought and plugged into the outdoor electric outlet. The cord can be run into the cabin to use the fan, lamp and electric skillet or infrared heater in the colder months. There is a water hydrant outside for bathing or boiling. The water is non potable. We have direct access to the property for ATV/UTV's for the public road use on the back roads. You can travel from town to town and sight see. The property is between two towns and is close to places to see and things to do, driftless area history, wineries, caves, hiking, canoeing, fishing, sightseeing, river, streams and more.Rest your head in our rustic cabin that sits on a ridge with a great view of the stars. The cabin is secluded. The only time we would be on the property is when we need to do cropping work in the fields, which isn't too often. You can walk the ridgetop road that leads out to the long ridge. You can ask about a tent also. The Wisconsin River is 6 miles North and offers canoeing. There is direct access to the property with ATV/UTV's to ride on the county roads. A golf course is 1 mile away. There is an Amish community in the area. There are many things to do within a short drive. There are caves, wineries, rivers & lakes, restaurants, bars, thousands of public acres in the Lower Wisconsin Riverway for hunting and exploring, trout streams, biking, hiking and much more. We can help direct you to what your interests are. Just ask. Extra people and tents may be approved for an additonal fee.

The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. We had a very relaxing and fun time, especially the pup. It's definitely the most peaceful and quiet place we have been. Sherri was very kind and accommodating.

Windy Ridge Secluded Rustic Cabin

this cabin was great! it's tucked into a hillside and very private, Sherri messaged with us right away and we met with her husband Jason shortly after we arrived. they are very nice and good hosts. there was plenty of firewood provided for the large fire ring, and the property was very well maintained and ready for us to enjoy. the cabin was very comfy and warm at night while staying cool during the day. two windows provided a nice cross breeze and while it did get down to 30° one morning during our stay we did not need to use the woodstove or electric heater at all. we did bring a 50' powercord to be able to use my partner's cpap and that worked very well. its glamping, but not so much it doesnt feel like camping still, if that makes sense? the sky is large with plenty of stars to see, the birdsong was wonderful with alot of different birds including one very physic woodpecker that entertained us with his antics. the cabin is close enuff to town to run in quick if you need anything or would like to have a bite to eat at the diner cafe there, but the setting is all countryside. there are several public lands nearby to explore hiking or boating and we also enjoyed taking drives along the atv utv routes some blactop some gravel roads that led thru some incredibly scenic forested hollows, valleys, and ridgetops in the area. if you want to cabin camp in privacy windy ridge is a good choice!

Cozy Getaway

Windy Ridge Secluded Rustic Cabin

What a perfect getaway! Sherri & her husband were so inviting - if you love a personal host look no further! The cabin was literally perfect, cute, warm and cozy. Only minutes from town if you need to pick up essentials, but Sherri’s cabin is stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and absence of city lights. We couldn’t have better things to say!

Great Stay for Humans and Pups!

Windy Ridge Secluded Rustic Cabin

We had an excellent time on the property…secluded and private, lots of room to roam in the hayfields! We were in our tent rather than the cabin, but cabin looked nice and clean. Safe to say our dogs enjoyed as well as they slept like two straight days after we got home!
