What once started in the mid 1800's as a 240 acre sugar maple tree farm is now our little 18 acres of heaven on earth. Our house was built on the property in 1875. The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas.2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, aTodd's Great Outdoor Bait Shop, and an engine repair shop. There are often festivals, open Music Jams and community events. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the early spring, wildlife, and birds to watch. There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. Teri and Mike have done a fantastic job here! Things are even better than expected from the online description and the welcome kit was a pleasant surprise. The sites are well laid out with plenty of privacy. Great star gazing here, and I saw deer several times. This was my first time camping here, but I hope to be back again next season.

The site was quiet and conveniently located near many things to explore. We biked the Whitewater Canal Trail, hiked the trails at Shrader-Weaver Woods, and visited Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary. We also enjoyed an afternoon in Centerville, Indiana, exploring the 5 arches, browsing antiques, and grabbing food at the local restaurants.

The barn/bar is adorable and Richard was very friendly and helpful. Camping down the Ridgeline and along the dirt road seemed like it would not be my cup of tea, but in fact, it was very private and very spread apart. I would definitely camp there again! We enjoyed music both evenings and the food at the barn was delicious. I would love if they had a few more choices on the menu.

3 nights at Quiet Creek Valley

This camp spot is perfect for rural camping but close to convenience! Hueston woods is 7 minutes away, the oldest national forest and park in Ohio with a beach and excellent bike trails. The hostess/host are hospitable and if you have friendly dogs, off leash is the way to go here. The creek is very close, easy to wade in or inner tubing and has easy access. You can also fit a small camper or tents (recommend cots) and the hosts are very accommodating. I will definitely be back!

The land was beautiful and peaceful! Me and my wife are new to primitive tent camping and I think this was a perfect start. It’s peaceful and got all you want in camping while not being too remote for beginners. We will be back for sure!
