The farm is located 15 minutes west of Indiana Universities Memorial Stadium. The property is nice and private. The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. We have a white deer creek cabin tent on a platform there and 3 or 4 nice level campsites to the north. There is a shaded RV site at the top of a small hill with 30 amp service. We can accommodate a large RV on packed gravel with 50 amp service. the farm is located 15 minutes east of McCormicks Creek State Park. There is a composting toilet and an on demand hot shower in a small building adjacent to the campsites. There is a YMCA about five minutes East of the property. We now have a no dog policy. I haven’t been able to change it on the site.

Our 22 acre property is perfect for people who want to get away. There is only one house visible from ours. Its very quiet and secluded. Our camper is modern, clean, cozy, and relaxing. The camper will be set up in a spacious driveway with plenty of parking. The camper has one (1) queen bed, two (2) bunk beds, and three (3) full-size pullout sofas. The camper has a smart TV, wifi, AC/heat, kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room, storage room, and outside amenities. Within 3 miles (7-minute drive) to Memorial Stadium/Assembly Hall, 3-4 miles (9-minute drive) to downtown Bloomington, and 3.5 miles (10 minutes) to the IU campus.

Johnathan’s spot totally exceeded my expectations. This is a terrific spot for RVers, given the available hookups. I just had a roof tent, but the extra high carport kept everything from getting wet in a blow-through rainstorm, and the fire pit was a lovely way to wind down after a long day on the road. I highly recommend the breakfast add-on to get a little fuel in you. It’s nothing fancy, but it is tasty and delivered when you need it.
It’s a beautiful, quiet property — wish I’d stayed longer than one night to explore the trails around the property. Also, my dog loved it.

Was visiting Bloomington for Father's weekend and needed a site that was convenient. While it was close to town it also felt like you well into the country. Butch is a very nice gentleman and super accommodating. This will definitely be my place to camp anytime I'm visiting the area!

Jonathan’s place was great. Very nice site, with lots of amenities. We have a 35’ motorhome and had plenty of room for it and our toad. We were there for a wedding on property also. Jonathan and his family have an event center on the property too. While at the reception, I left the table for a bit. When I returned there was Jonathan playing tic tac toe with our son.

Perfect place to stay! Very nice family. Everything is as described, not a single even slightly negative thing in the 17 days I stayed. Would go quite a distance out of my way to stay here again. Jonathan let me know of wind gusts expected that I had no idea of and even offered to put my awning in for me!! Great guy! Highly recommended.

Pros: RV electric hookups. Clean onsite bathroom with running water, sink, flushing toilet and shower. Nice well maintained camping sites (tent and RV). Plenty of land to roam and enjoy nature. Beautiful views of the lakes, nature and wildlife.
Cons: Limited number of firepits. All 5 RV sites share one firepit. Not a real issue if you're the only one there but not great if there are other groups booked on site. Some of the camping sites have firepits but not all of them. Lakes have some junk in them, tires, etc. There is overflow from the river so when it floods the river flows into the lakes and it brings along the trash with it. It wasn't too bad but does give you pause when considering swimming or fishing.
Overall: We had a great trip and will book here again. The pro's outweigh the cons and it was a lot of fun getting away for a weekend with friends.

This is one of the best Hip Camps we have experienced. The directions were clear, and the host, Jonathan, greeted us warmly. Jonathan took the time to show us the property and the campsite. Electric, water, and a very clean toilet are conveniently located. Jonathan also has a strong Wi-Fi in the camping area. We easily connected. Our campsite was covered, which was helpful during the evening rain. Jonathan has 20 acres where trails are cut through the corn fields and the woods for hiking and dog walking. There are many birds in the area, so birders will enjoy it. This was a very enjoyable stay.

This is a perfect spot to camp simply. Prep was easy - just packed up our tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bags, food, and a change of clothes and we were ready to hit the road. Already onsite were seats, firewood, a fire pit, and plenty of room for so many great activities. My son loved flying his kite, our Hosts were kind enough to let him pitch in and fetch their remote control aircraft, and we enjoyed feeding the fish and riding the boat in their pond. The hot breakfast in the morning - delivered to the tent - was perfect. Unfortunately our dog was a little yippy and got away from us a few times, but otherwise it was such a great experience and we look forward to returning soon!

Excellent! After all the chaos of freeway traffic for miles and hours, it was so nice to get just 5 miles off the beaten path to serenity. Nice level spot right next to the home. We never physically saw Jared or anyone, but there was no reason to as all his communication was the exact information we needed via text.

Had such a wonderful experience at Apple Acres, I now see why the family has such wonderful ratings and reviews. Lots of space to spread out. The carport was a great bonus to hang out under and stay out of the sun.
The walking trails were perfect for our dogs, we were even able to take our stroller out there too (jogging stroller).
There is the porta-potty onsite, but we just use our camper.
There are really nice bathrooms on the property nextdoor (Martha's Orchard), which is also part of the family.
Next to your site is a beautiful hummingbird and butterfly garden. I sat out one evening just to watch and enjoy the peace. 8 females, one male ruby-throated hummer.
They have put so much time and effort into their property and it truly shows.
The hosts are very kind and helpful! Chatted with them a few times:)
Location is perfect. Out in the country, but super close to the Indy attractions.
35 minutes to the Children's Museum and Zoo
20 min to airport
30 minutes to the State Fairgrounds
Can't wait to be back!
