3 nights at Skyes Treehouses

So the “secret treehouse” is quite a treat. It’s SUPER secluded with nothing but the sound of rainforest creatures to keep you company. You can’t see lights from anything but the night sky when it gets dark. It’s got four porches, all covered, as well as a GIANT outdoor covered gathering area under the house itself. The sleeping loft is comfortable even for adults as long as you’re okay climbing a ladder, but the main floor also has a queen bed for those who don’t want to climb. Kitchen is well appointed and useful, though be prepared for no dishwasher (it’s a treehouse!). Half bath on the main floor, but the full bath is on the “ground” level, so you’re doing steps down to shower. This place is simply incredible. So cozy, but has pretty much everything you need including fast internet. Well, no dishwasher and no laundry (but the closest pay laundry is between there and the entrance of Volcanoes National Park, which is pretty close). There’s a bit of a haul through the woods to get your stuff to the treehouse, but it’s WORTH IT! Definitely hoping to get back and stay in this place again.

We loved our stay at Chris and Esther’s place! It was the perfect location—so close to Volcanoes National Park—and incredibly peaceful. Falling asleep to the sound of frogs at night was a unique experience for me. The space had everything we needed for a comfortable night’s sleep--we wish we’d had more time to stay longer. I loved that they gave us duck food so we could feed the ducks when we woke up. Their directions were clear, communication was easy, and everything felt welcoming and well thought-out.

We loved this location. So close to lots of the activities we had planned around Kona. Also not far from restaurants and a laundromat. The room was close to the parking area. We had a little decking where we could dry our swimwear. The room was nice and spacious so we could spread out our suitcases. Didn’t explore the farm much because it was raining but loved patting the cat that liked to sleep on the decking. The room also felt very private and the farm is behind a locked gate. Definitely recommend

Lodging was clean, well maintained, and had everything you could really ask for; full kitchen (including stove and oven), hot shower, ceiling fan above the bed, nice little deck out front. The location is fantastic, it's at the back of the farm so sitting on the deck looking out you have a nice view of the rainbow eucalyptus trees, palm patches, and meadows, and total privacy to enjoy a morning coffee in peace. Hosts were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. Oh and there's ducks and peafowl all over who are very friendly and will come up to you for food. My only issue was that I didn't stay longer.

We absolutely loved it! Great location, private, tropical setting. It is awesome to go to bed with the rainforest sounds in the background. Wel maintained and clean cottage. We loved the ducks coming over to say hello in the morning (and that goes double for our 8 year old.)without waking us up. And if you never had duck eggs before : they are delicious! Esther and Christopher are great host, friendly, patient and helpful.

We loved this luxury yurt, we wished we spend more time here. Everything is just so nice and lovely. They had an amazing bathroom with extreme pressurized shower, which my bf loved. They made us breakfast sandwiches with fresh papaya and coffee. You also get to pet 2 lovely dogs and a cat, with a very stunning views of the ocean by their pool! We were so spoiled! If you made it this far, book it!!!

We had the most amazing time at Vicky and Casey's Yurt. From the breakfast in the morning to the outdoor shower after being out all day. The welcome greeting from Casey and the friendly dogs started our stay off on the right foot. Everything was clean and tidy. We will definitely be back. Wish we could have stayed longer. If you’re reading this stop what you’re doing and just BOOK IT, you’ll thank me later! Not only was this the best glamping accommodation I’ve ever had, but on top of that Casey & Vicky provided a level of service you’d only expect from a five star resort. Not to mention it was at an incredibly affordable price. Their property is gorgeous, providing a high end ranch style feel with many animals on the property as well as high end accommodations and amenities making it a truly luxurious experience. Although the yurt and property was incredibly impressive, I have to say that Casey and the service he provided was probably the highlight of this stay. He was professional, personable, and incredibly helpful! He cooked an amazing breakfast each morning that was enjoyed on their patio/pool area with a view. He also provided great recommendations for things to do in the area and great conversation overall. I can’t say enough good things about Casey and the paradise he decides to share with his guests. An absolutely amazing stay overall! 11/10 experience that I would definitely do again

We loved staying at Wendy’s. We were welcomed by Camille and it felt actually like staying with a friend. The whole property is beautifully designed and the treehouse is a special place to stay in with all the sounds of nature and ocean breeze. It is close to the awe inspiring green sand beach, a black sand beach with green turtles, a great bakery, and around 1 hours from the volcano park. Just be aware that it is an open space and my 6 feet husband had a tight fit under the mosquito net. We had no issues arriving at the property following the host’s instructions (with a Jeep).
