I never got bored living here. Every day I got to wake up and go to the beach just minutes away from home, or my cousins and I would have a fishing contest to see who could catch the most fish. We would also go paddling up the river to lay nets down to catch some ono (delicious) crab for dinner.

Aloha! Looking for a place to lounge and adventure? Mangrove Lounge is the place for you! Mangrove Lounge is located right behind the historical town called Haleiwa Town. Camper Vans or RVs are more than welcome! During the day, enjoy access to a private river where you can take your fishing pole and catch yourself some dinner. After a busy day, enjoy a nice hot bath in a private shower under the stars, along with a flushing toilet and sink. Upon request and additional charge, end your adventure with a cozy night next to the fire pit ($28.00 for fire pit). Mangrove Lounge is 3-5 minutes (driving) away from many beaches and eateries in Haleiwa town where you can also do all your shopping. Less than a mile away, you can find all the delicious food trucks including the famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck. You can find your nearest supermarket just 1.2 miles away called Malama Market, and Longs Drug Store right across the street from Malama Market. Mangrove Lounge provides clean bathroom, a shower with hot water, access to a private river for relaxing or fishing, about 800ft from the nearest bus stop, and secured privacy so you and your friends or family can relax, feel safe, and most importantly...have fun! 😊

As a working farm, we do have insects and geckos hanging around. So, it's not uncommon to encounter them. Also, we often have visits from wild pigs that come down from the mountain, so you may see them as well. Although we are certain you will love this place, please keep in mind, it takes a lot of hard work to maintain it. Thus, you will probably hear farm equipment and activities buzzing about (typically on the weekends). And, we want you to respect, love, and care for this place as much as we do by leaving it better than you found it.

For guests unfamiliar with the Big Island, it is not like the other islands people travel to. If Oahu is more Americanized, the Big Island is still more of a Polynesian Island. Our property allows guests to enjoy a genuine local experience.
The cabins have power and endless hot water. All water on property is rainwater harvested from our roof!
At night your ears will be greeted by the forest with sounds of coqui frogs. Many people love them 🐸 Please search for Bathing Suits and Rain Boots on YouTube to find a video of what our property sounds like at night. Our channel also features videos of tours we offer. More to be uploaded, check back often! Our tours include off the beaten path adventures ranging from sunrises and geothermal Kings baths, to prawn hunting to hikes that lead to waterfalls! They are all local gems that you will not find online or offered by any other tour guide agency. We are updating our ig @bathingsuitsandrainboots regularly with footage from adventures as well!
Beach gear such as surf boards, boogie boards and snorkel gear is also available. There is a detailed welcome packet with a variety of mostly free but some paid must see/do activities on the island!
There are a total of 4 cabins on the one acre lot. The owners are on property, other guests may or may not be here as well. There is a dog Valentine, two outdoor cats named Ghost and Tomi, and chickens/ducks.
Each cabin has a queen mattress. We rent both cabins out for larger groups.
Jungle massages are available on site starting at $100 for the hour.
Please note the main image capturing a lava cliff sunrise is not visible from the cabin. It is about a 30-40 minute drive from us 🌊 ☀️ 🌋
We are at 1880ft elevation so it can get chilly at night. Winters are also rainy season so if traveling to the Big Island in the winter, I suggest some light layers for warmth, a raincoat and rain boots.

Mahalo, for your interest in visiting Big Island Farms located half way between the Historic Town of Honoka'a and the beautiful Waipi'o Valley. We are a permaculture based farm that hosts students from all over the world interested in learning more about sustainability, permaculture farming, Hawaiian culture and much more. During our off season, we open up the farm for you to visit and enjoy the beautiful Aina (land) and facilities.
Your stay with us could vary, from relaxing and reading a good book on one of our many decks or hiking through our upper orchards to find the on property waterfall that runs most of the year.
Our property is 65 acres with 50 acres of Macadamia Nut orchards and free roaming sheep and cows. The lower 15 acres consist of many different gardens, a green house (please do not enter), multiple Food Forests, 8 Cabanas, 2 classrooms 4 showers, 3 composting toilets and a kitchen with common area.
Each cabana is screened in 360º with views, two bunkbeds (sleeps 4), air mattresses, (Bring your own Sleeping Bag/Pillows) shelves, clothes lines on outside and lockable doors. There is no electricity in the cabanas but there are power strips available in the common area.
The common area consists of a large deck with picnic tables, Wifi access (pw: pickalltheweeds), power strips for charging electronics, canopies for when it rains, a 2-burner hotplate for cooking, pots, pans, plates, utensils, cups, dry food storage and a full sized fridge with freezer. Please keep the area clean.
We also offer morning Breakfast Basket options:
Small basket $ - 2 Papayas, 6 bananas, 2 cups of coffee.
Large basket $ - 4 papayas, 10 bananas, morning coffee during your stay.
Please keep in mind the fruit may vary depending on what is ripe.

In order to preserve water we utilize clean non-smelling composting toilets. We also have 4 hot water showers, 2 sinks and vanity areas. Please keep showers to 5 min or less, Mahalo.
If you come with a 4-wheel drive vehicle you are welcome to drive farther up on to the property and park closer to your cabana, just follow the Parking signs. We do not recommend you drive up with cars or low vehicles as the terrain is a bit rough, instead please park down in front in one of the parking spaces.

When you reserve a cabin its is all yours (not shared). The common areas are shared by other guests and the caretaker.
Yes we are a family friendly nudist venue. What does this mean? Simply put, we are just like other camping venues, except you can leave your clothing behind. Never tried it before? We welcome "every body" and are a wholesome non-sexual venue accredited with the American Association for Nude Recreation.
Note. If you are considering a month long stay or more, you must meet the following requirements before we will approve you:
1. Couples of 2 or families of 3 only. The loft is small and best suited for a child who can navigate comfortably up and down a loft ladder.
2. Adults subject to background check. with ID required.
3. Must be clothing optional friendly and be comfortable around other guests who are naturist.
4. Must agree to property rules detailed on Airbnb.
5. Must be willing to remove own trash, wash own linens (we provide), and clean up after yourself if cooking.
We have many first-timers and pride ourselves on promoting body positivity and acceptance. Yes we welcome entire families. From infants to grandparents and all in-between, come see why nude is not lude and discover the many positive effects this culture can bring to your family.
Do I have to be nude right away? No. The only areas it's mandatory is in our pool and hot tub. All other areas clothing is optional. If you have not tried it before, feel free to message us with questions. We want you to be comfortable.

It was one of our best stays ever. Very relaxing and tranquil. Just staying here would rejuvenate you and relieve all your stress. This quickly became the highlight of our trip to Big Island. My partner and I had the most romantic experience here. This is highly recommended place for couples. The place is well designed and has everything you will need to feel like home. My wife loved their welcome book and aesthetics of this place. We booked this for 2 days as part of our honeymoon and we would absolutely come again here.

Mae is precious! She was such a gracious host and she really has a special piece of land. Camp here if you want to feel safe and want a beautiful piece of land to stay on. We rebooked a second night because of how comfortable we felt there. Also bathroom/shower was so nice and the doggo was a great plus :) we will be back! Great vibes!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the farm. Nancy was warm, welcoming, and super easy to communicate with, and the land itself was beautiful. Ocean views, coqui frogs, and a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Nancy brought us a delicious banana bread made with honey from their farm. Highly recommend, and we're looking forward to visiting again!
