Moon Garden Farm is a 25 acre farm, located off Highway 11 near the town of Mountain View. Beautiful views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are visible on clear sunny days. The 1500 foot elevation gives a great view of the ocean as well. Mountain View is located between beautiful, quaint Hilo and the spectacular Volcano National Park, each about 15 miles in either direction. Sheep, cattle and feral pigs can be seen in the lower pasture. There are 4 ponds and two are stocked with tilapia and catfish. Fish nets are provided for the children. The grounds are beautifully manicured with creative topiary's and lends itself to great photo shoots. Jaboticaba, bananas, lemons, calamansi, and several other fruit trees can be found on the farm. Yours to eat when in season. Moon Garden Farm is a magical place and I'm sure you will feel it too. For larger organizational groups please contact me and let's make it work for you.

Mauna Kea Site #2

Best Hicamp on the island!

Absolutely the best camping we stayed at on the Island! Such a beautiful and peaceful location that's close to the Volcanic National Park, Hilo and Puna! We also visited Mauna Kea very easily from here. The site is in a gorgeous garden with great views and excellent facilities. The restroom was very clean and shower nice and hot. We loved the under cover outdoor seating which was perfect when it rained. We also enjoyed going to sleep with the sounds of birds and frogs. Mae was very welcoming and great for a chat. Gorgeous sunset over the lagoon.

Mae offers a beautiful location and is a stellar host. This is definitely a hidden gem and you can experience a peaceful getaway. There is plenty to do for the whole family. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful and Cozy

Mae’s place is a great stop to refresh! The landscape is beautiful and she truly thinks of every detail to make sure guests are comfortable. We had a sunrise breakfast outside and it was so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful Getaway

This was the nicest HipCamp spot we stayed at on the big Island! Mae provides much more than your basic essentials which made our stay very easy and relaxing. Would 100% recommend staying here if you can, very private and quiet.

Mae's land is beautiful and was wonderful to stay at with a hot outdoor shower and private bathroom. Will definitely be back again some day!
