We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. FREE FIREWOOD FOR LIMITED TIME: I have more split oak firewood than I know what to do with. While it lasts, campers can take as much as they need for free. The wood is piled at the site. Our homestead is home to our family, chickens, and a livestock guardian dog. We also have a small orchard and a garden. Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails. As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are also short drives. We currently offer a single campsite, which can accommodate several tents or a camper van. Our campsite features a composting toilet outhouse, and water is available from spigots at our house. Though fairly close to our house, the campsite has a very private feel due to being completely surrounded by a hardwood forest.

Beautiful location with a view of Table Rock located in the Historic Oolenoy Valley. Our property is located in Northern Pickens Co. of South Carolina. Plenty of trails, boating, biking in the area or just sit under your awning and enjoy the wildlife. Important please read! There is not evening shade in July and August, However, there are shady spots very close to the camp site that you can enjoy. Where your camper sits the Sun goes down at the front of the camper. It is typically not an issue until mid-July and August. If you need additional details, please contact me. There are two homes near the camp site. The one behind the site is our home. Just me and my wife, currently no pets. The other home is a small white farmhouse that I currently rent to close friends. Chris and his wife and two well behaved kids. The kind of neighbors' people dream of! In five years of renting this site I have only had one couple that felt uncomfortable with the homes on our driveway. I really enjoyed spending time with my adult family away from the stresses of the holiday season. We spent daylight visiting Waterfalls, museums and dining. I had a wonderful 2 days, very restful, exactly what I needed. Their dog was curious but not terribly interested, the rooster crowed, as roosters do. The view was terrific. Read the other reviews - the site is on an incline, but we (husband and I) went prepared and managed to level our popup tent. I will go back.

1 night at Mountaintop Fantasy

This a very unique and cozy treehouse cabin in a beautiful location, right by Lake Glenville. It is a comfortable space with lots of amenities for a fun weekend in the mountains, and feels very secluded surrounded by woods and at a high elevation. Despite being there in rainy weather, it was beautiful with all the fall foliage! And Peter is a very friendly and welcoming host. I would certainly recommend a visit!

Weekend Trip to Mountaintop Fantasy

This Treehouse/ Overlook was just right for glamping - all accommodations and ease of use! Warm space to sleep with WiFi, open air kitchen with full accessories, heated full bathroom and shower while being able to enjoy the view of the mountains and nature. Instructions and directions are well thought out and posted for everything. Layout is an easy walk and well designed - great place to to relax and just enjoy your time! Our furry host, Molly was a pleasure to meet and get to know too! Good times had by all!

Weekend Trip to White Dog Farm camping

A peaceful site in a grassy field beside a gently flowing stream. Nice fire pit and host sells wood. Lots of horses nearby for company. Anna was helpful with arranging my arrival time. The only thing needing improvement is the porta-potty. It's slightly tilted and too crowded with accessories (bins, sanitizer dispenser, etc) getting in the way of the main purpose for visiting. A good location for visiting hiking trails, wineriess, etc. Lots to do in the area. I would definitely return.

Weekend Trip to Magical Mountain Resorts

An absolute gem. Great for families and couples. The owner and staff were always available for anything you need. The creative decor and lights along the stream was a nice touch. Plenty of outdoor games, loved the animals. Each site had its own firepit and grill. You can buy wood onsite if you run out. There’s a dumpster to throw your trash, washing machine and dryer. Everything we needed! We highly recommend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Weekend Trip to Herzen Platz (a place in the Heart)

Our stay at Hertzen Platz was absolutely wonderful! The host was warm and welcoming, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The tent was cozy and beautifully set up… it was comfortable, clean, and full of thoughtful touches. The surrounding area was stunning, peaceful, and the perfect place to relax and unwind. Breakfast was delicious!! We truly loved every part of our stay and would definitely return again.
