We live on site on 17 acres that is surrounded by large tracts of undeveloped land with the Oconee National Forest within 1/4 mile and the Ocmulgee river within 1 mile. The name Seven Islands comes from the rich history of this area and the nearby trading site between Native Americans and settlers in the 1800s on the seven islands of the Ocmulgee River. For Equestrian campers, we have an electric hook-up near the house and a round-pen size paddock for horses (or can make panels into stalls) +$7/horse/night. (Note: We reserve the right to refuse lodging to horses with runny noses/runny eyes or otherwise sick). *Cabin being remodeled. To be open some time in 2025* We are happy to ride with you when available if desired - or we recommend using the Outdoor Active or Gaia app. Our tent camping area is a peaceful, shady area overlooking meandering Kinnard Creek. The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. We are just far enough away not to be intrusive, but near enough if you need assistance.

James and Jessica are some of the BEST HOSTS WE HAVE MET OVER THE LAST 6 YEARS!!! Good ol southern hospitality has no limits at Fenn Farms. The property itself is beautiful and so, so peaceful. Our first night here our diesel pusher front tire was leaking air and James was so helpful!!! I absolutely love the creek that runs along the back of the property with all the mini falls and all the farm animals are right there just waiting for a visit! Added BONUS ...the stargazing is phenomenal!! Thank you to the both of you, we are so happy we crossed paths!!! IYou two have gone above and beyond! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. My husband, my two children, and I had an amazing time at the airstream! It felt decadent to have our very own hiking trails. It was remote enough to feel like we were really out in the middle of nowhere, the stars were so incredible because there was no light pollution.
The airstream itself was clean, well stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed eating at the picnic table for all of our meals and toasting marshmallows. The outdoor shower was a hit with my husband and I, and because there was a little bathtub, my children were able to take a bath after a very dirty day outside.
We would really love to come back in the future and visit again! Highly recommend.

Beautiful property and clean camp site with power and water.. We came into town for a GA game (go dawgs!) and it was the perfect peaceful getaway for the weekend. It took us about 25 minutes to get to the game (with Athens traffic). Teens loved feeding the goats and seeing all the other animals. Our hosts were gracious and friendly as well. So much better than staying in a crowded, overpriced hotel. We’ll be back!

1 night at Peace Apalachee
Beautiful, peaceful, private site. No super close neighbors. As a female traveling alone I felt completely safe. Loved the covered front porch, sat and watched the rain while working on my computer. Listened to the birds and crickets at night. They have fans, shades, lights, so many nice little touches to make it a comfortable stay. Enjoyed hiking the property (very clearly marked and maintained trails) and seeing the river. Had a bonfire at night when there was a break in the rain (was glad I brought firewood as I didn’t see any at the site). The rv was adorable, boho/minimalistic/tastefully decorated. Little lights and coffee/creamer/coffee maker provided. Lots of thoughtful touches, bottle of water in the fridge, lighter, etc. I only stayed one night but want to come again to enjoy the hammock, outdoor shower, kayaks. This place was a steal for the price and the host was friendly and communicative and respected my space. I especially enjoyed watching armadillos scurry around at night. Thank you for a great stay!

Camping at James’s farm was great! James met me at the mailbox to show me around. There were options for amenities like power and water hookups or primitive camping down by the creek - I chose the latter. It was quiet and secluded, which was perfect for me.

I enjoyed staying at the Sunrise River RV Park And Campground last week with my faithful sidekick, Mr. Willoughby. We camped right next to the river and it was 15° cooler under the pines with a gentle breeze. Paul and Michelle were very friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived and since there were no others camped in the primitive area down by the river, Mr. Willoughby had the pleasure of getting to roam around with me a lot.
There was a big picnic table and a large fire pit, and a huge pile of firewood and kindling, help yourself! Everything you could dream of and then some for a primitive campsite 😁
But the best part was when I went up to the lodge and had a hot shower in their absolutely FABULOUS shower! On top of that they have washers and dryers available.
Considering how inexpensive their primitive campsites are, they have all the amenities of the best facilities I've seen. We will definitely be back this fall when we come through.
Many thanks to Paul and Michelle, and I have to say thank you to Randy, their on-site manager, who came down the morning after we had a heavy rain to check and make sure we were safe by the river. Best service anywhere I've been! See you all again soon 😀👋

We had a wonderful stay celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, our daughter’s college graduation, and Mother’s Day all in one trip! The site was clean, well-maintained, and had great proximity to the sewer hookup, which made things easy. Our host was excellent—communicative and helpful from start to finish. The kids loved spending time with the animals and exploring the farm, and when the rain cleared, the night sky was absolutely breathtaking. A perfect mix of peaceful, family-friendly, and memorable. We’d gladly return!
