Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips.
We DO allow tent camping.
Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi.
An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm.
Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Horse visitors require all current paperwork (Coggins, etc.). Dog visitors must be social and friendly and thus are allowed to explore the farm with their owners off-leash if desired.
The property includes miles of trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Bring your own horse or experienced riders may be able to ride one of ours (subject to weight/experience matching with a horse).
There is a small private stocked lake open to all guests of Lizardsniffer for fishing and swimming. At the lake you will find an amenities cabin called Glowy Bobber that has a full bathroom and outdoor shower as well as Kayaks and floats for guest use.

Our "campground" is located on 48 acres we own in a rural area. We have three full hookup sites and can accommodate other dry campers in our open field. We are located well off of the road in a quiet area. Most folks say they feel safe in our quiet oasis with plenty of room to move around and breathe. The pool feels nice on hot days and the dog park is plenty large enough for Fido to run and frolic.

Communitowhee (or Towhee) Farm is the rebirth of a retired, 19th century tenement estate located in the Mvskoke Indian territory of Milledgeville, GA. The land is divided into a working, 40+ acre pine forest and a 1-acre tract envisioned as an organic produce farm.
On the 1-acre tract, in the pecan grove next to the tiny home where you'll be staying, there is 120v electrical as well as a water hookup. We also have tiki torches and a fire pit for spending time around the fire in the evening.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! All fires must be contained inside the designated hubcap chiminea. Do not attempt to build any fires outside of this container. All fires must be fully extinguished when unattended.
We welcome you to join us for an evening or a few on our homestead!
The microfarm is complete with D.I.Y. designs; fruit trees, raised beds, composting bins, a bat house, water-catchment barrels, a fruit/vegetable sun-dryer, and a 11-by-40-foot greenhouse. It's our home and humble work in progress community vision. Currently in residence are our domestic and farm cats, some of whom you may meet during your stay.
Every step of Communitowhee’s growth has been taken with deep thought and consideration for the health and history of its land. Each infrastructure design has been and will continue to be built from sustainable, up and recycled materials to minimize environmental impact. Quiet camping spot in front of stables. Hard rock base that is generally steep. Bring a levelling kit and/or jack. Close 30amp plug and water hookups. Water reclamation plant is very close for waste water dump diring business hours.
Our host was pleasant and respected our privacy during our visit. Good communication pretrip.
Getting onto the property is tight, but doable even with bumper pull TT. Horses are on the property but caused no issues.
Close to several activities such as the Botanical Gardens, Shoals, small Zoo, Sandy Creek and Athens. Shopping is within 15min trip. Great place to see Athens without being too close to the city, ie. a campus day visit. Stop in at Wuxtry Music store for some LP records and Toys or Sully's Steamers for bfast and lunch. Nearby Watkinsville has several art galleries, coffee shops, grocery and restaurants.

Stayed at the par 4, it was great! The site is private, the amenities cabin was a great little bonus, the land is beautiful, the lake was fun and the nights were so peaceful. Randy and Lisa were extremely hospitable and responsive. Cannot recommend enough. We even checked out the cabins on site which were AMAZING!

It was probably the most relaxing setting I’ve camped in. All you see are the fenced in areas with horses grazing, and I got to see a lesson in barrel racing in the afternoon. No amenities, but if you’re self contained it’s ideal.

We had a great stay! The farm is beautiful and spacious with lots of friendly horses and goats to visit. Wade and Willow (the dogs who work at the farm) gave us a tour and were so sweet and friendly. Site was great with all the hookups we needed, great location for sightseeing around Georgia.

Everything was great.
We were welcomed at the entrance and even driven around property. Everything was clean and nicely maintained. Even so the water temps in pond were down I was still able to catch 6 bass and a large Bream.
Campfire was nice and plenary of wildlife. Super secluded and safe.
We will be back for sure.

We had a great time at this campsite. The property was beautiful. The bath house was accommodating. The outdoor shower was pleasent (and private). Randy was welcoming. It was awesome being able to explore all the beautiful trails with the golf cart he let us use. Wish we could have spent more time here but we were just passing through on our way to Edisto Isalnd.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Lizard Sniffer! The host Randy was very friendly and offered us a golf cart to ride around the property and see the other sites they are working on. They have a Hobbit House that is the most miraculous thing out of this world! I truly felt like we were walking into an amusement park with all the detail they have put into this place.
All the cabins are different themes and unique in their own way. It was not crowded at all and so relaxing to spend time watching the horses and their super friendly Donkey. We brought our dog Buddy with us to stay and they have horse paddocks set up next to the sites for use for your dogs to roam free or for your horses to get a little exercise when traveling.
Randy has made sure that all his guests have everything they could possibly need to enjoy their stay to include free firewood, washer, dryers bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs and a bidet.
You can definitely see how much thought, imagination and love has been poured into every detail of this place. This is no ordinary campground by any means! “Lizard Sniffer” I highly suggest that you book a few nights to see this magical place and meet these awesome people that have shared their vision for others to enjoy.!
I wish we had had more time to spend there but definitely plan to go back again soon!
