Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. We had such a relaxing time! The cabin was perfect for the 5 of us and it had all the amenities we needed. We loved the lights around the campsite, and the kids took over the loft area in the cabin! Having a nice bathroom and the kitchen area just enhanced the stay! The highlight was enjoying the sweet kitties that spent time with us! It was a perfect little getaway!

I can’t say enough good things about my stay! The farm setting was absolutely serene — nestled along a river and within striking distance of the mountains. Every detail was so thoughtfully done, from the well-kept amenities to the little touches that made it feel both comfortable and connected to nature. What really stood out was the hospitality. The hosts were genuinely kind and welcoming, and they went out of their way to help me plan things to do in the area — from scenic spots to local hidden gems; they went out of their way to make my stay extra special. Between the peaceful surroundings, beautiful scenery, and top-notch amenities, this place was the perfect balance of comfort and adventure. I left feeling refreshed, grounded, and already dreaming of coming back. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature!

First time camping ever and we were absolutely blessed by this site! It was such a wonderful way to ease ourselves into camping, everything was super accessible while still maintaining our privacy and allowing us to fend for ourselves just a bit lol I would recommend bringing extra blankets and pillows, thankfully we did and it made a world of a difference. A very comfortable camping set up. Quite a lot of space in the woods to ourselves and between outhouses, with a large clearing in the middle for kids to enjoy. Kitchen and dining area under the barn is very well equipped. I didn't need to bring any extra cooking or dining equipment. Took us a little time to figure out the hot water in the shower but it does make a difference when it's on. Lots of products and some toilet paper provided. The wooden cabin was a great set up for sleeping. Very well ventilated and little fairy lights for nice ambiance. We took our air mattresses and sheets and it was like a little camp hotel. There is a road nearby but it's completely silent at night and pretty quiet during the day too. Horses on the property make great scenery. All in all clean and well maintained. Would just recommend taking a bath mat for the shower floor and tea towels for the kitchen for maximum comfort. Host was very easy to contact at any point and very helpful.

Absolutely perfect, secluded, with the minimum you might need, but all the necessities you might want. The cabin is super cute and cozy. AC and fans work great on a hottest day, beds are comfortable, all the utensils (spatulas, pots and pans, grill stuff- everything!) Fantastic spot: the pond, the woods, the boats, the campfire … Perfect is the only word needed. PS. Bring plenty of drinking water and a large cooler full of ice :)

We rented the cabin for two days, and my only complaint is that I wish we had more time there. This place was an absolute hidden gem! The peaceful atmosphere was just what we needed — early mornings were filled with the sounds of birds chirping and frogs croaking, which made for the perfect backdrop to sit back and truly unwind. We brought our dog Saidee to celebrate her birthday, and it was such a special experience. She had the best time exploring the property, cruising the pond in the paddle boat, and just enjoying all the open space and fresh air. It’s a memory we’ll always cherish. The scenery around the 3-acre pond was a beautiful touch — so calming and picturesque. We spent time fishing in the stocked pond, which was a relaxing and fun bonus. And at night, being away from the city lights, the stars were absolutely breathtaking. You could see the whole night sky so clearly — it really added to the magic of the place. The cabin had everything we needed and more. It was clean, comfortable, and clearly maintained with care. Randy was a fantastic host — welcoming, responsive, and thoughtful in every detail. You can tell he’s poured a lot of heart into making this place a true escape for his guests. We truly didn’t want to leave and are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you, Randy, for sharing this beautiful space with us!

Our family absolutely loved camping on Randy’s land! We stayed in the cabin and it was a nice upgrade from tent camping. Our days were spent fishing and using the cool paddle boats. There are a total of 4 camping spots (2 tent, 2 RV) and the cabin. They are spread out enough to give you plenty of privacy even if it is filled to capacity. There was only one other spot filled while we were there. We had such a great time and cannot wait to go back!

The A Frame was great! The bed was comfortable and the electricity worked great. The campsite was private which was nice. The bath house was clean and there was hot water. Thomas was very nice and his dogs were the best! They were well behaved and would often come up to our campsite to say hello. We appreciated the hospitality while here and would return again in the future!! :).

Weekend Trip to Woodsman at Starr Mountain Retreat

The cabin was fantastic! It was so clean and comfortable. Everything about it was perfect! We enjoyed relaxing in the peaceful atmosphere. We don’t get a chance to enjoy the outdoor seating area but it looked great. It’s close to a fabulous Amish Farmer’s Market, a small winery and of course river rafting! Already planning our next trip!
