Come join us at this unforgettable camping spot at Historic Castleberry Bridge where the Gold Rush happened, the Indian fish trap still exist, the birth place of Denver Colorado and the hideout of Jesse James just some of the history that happened at your campsite on the Etowah River. Our motto is "Thanks for keeping it clean," so help us spread the word and keep it true! Look for the gate at 851 Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and George (owner) should be there. He will open the second gate for you where you will be able to drive through and park at your site - weather permitting. To the left of the first gate is the community area with toilet, grills, picnic tables, etc. Remember, your phone might not work near the river. If you need help, you might have to go back up to the road to call us. George (the owner) is there most every day and all day. For help contact Gini or George Ferris 404-431-2564 or 727-204-3932. There's so much fun waiting for you to explore! Tubes are available for a $5 charge per day. If you're feeling extra adventurous, there are rope swings that let you swing over the river, and there are super cool places to splash around and swim, part of which, is in the Indian Fish Trap. When your tummy starts rumbling, don't worry. We've got you covered with grills in the community area where you can cook delicious food. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc. But wait, there's more excitement! If you're looking for an even bigger adventure, this is the perfect spot to begin an awesome kayaking trip if you brought your kayak. Castleberry Bridge is where people from all over the country come to experience going through the Miner's Tunnel. We have a working farm with sweeping views of Lookout mountain and only 12 minutes from all the comforts of downtown Chattanooga. Our expansive 120-acre property provides campers with the freedom to choose their camping spots anywhere on the farm. Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm. We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show where the camping site sits on the property. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures. Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area, in between the orange and green tiny home, and outside the outdoor shower. We really appreciated having the gas grill/charcoal combo grill on site to cook dinners on and there is plenty of space to play some yard games (cornhole, frisbee etc). We will absolutely come back!"

We loved tent camping at Castleberry Bridge! We booked last minute as our 4 year old son kept bugging us to go camping. Next thing you know, our son and George are besties and he woke up both mornings asking for Mr. George. He treated us like family. George and Gini have done a tremendous job in cleaning up this area of the river. As well making this a family friendly spot but also room for those without children. It was a fun, communal type feel. The slides into the water, the baby swing and park slides beach side, tubes available throughout the day (extra charge), life jackets all throughout, high chairs built into the picnic tables, campfires pre made by George so you had one less thing to think about after the fun day were all perks! He even made sure we were prepared for the rain that came through via text and showing up on site. For families looking to start camping, this place is it! We can’t wait to go back!

This spot was one of the best finds for my reactive pups and me- safe, private, peaceful, extremely spacious, and well maintained. We had a great view of the stars too. Larissa was a great host and very responsive. Will definitely be coming back! Just a heads up - I didn’t have signal once I got to the clearing (occasionally could connect to satellite), but it was nice to disconnect. Not a con. Highly recommend!

Our family loved staying at Robby's place! The RV was so nice and a good size for our little family of 4. Our kids ask everyday if we can go back, that's how much they loved it! It is very private and Robby is super hospitable. We're already trying to plan our next visit because we didn't get to explore his land as much as we wanted. Everything was amazing, we actually needed a little help learning how to work the water and drain the tub after bath times for both kids and Robby was up there and ready to help ASAP. He's super responsive and had a ton of incredible information to tell us about the native land we were staying on. I had to go to Chattanooga for a work trip, but it never felt like work when we got back. The firewood he provided gave us 3 nights of fires and the bed was so cozy, even though my husband and I are both really tall. Our kiddos loved the bunk beds and slept through the night, which is rare with two toddlers. The amenities are so nice and it really is such a short drive to Chattanooga. We will always look back on this trip as one of our favorites and we can't wait to visit again. Thank you for everything, Robby.

We loved camping by the river being disconnected from the world for the weekend! Ginny and George were so friendly and helpful as usual. The bathrooms are always so clean, doesn't even seem like a portojohn. Friday night we were the only campers, it was so peaceful. The only downside to camping here is the campsites are really close to each other, luckily all the campsites weren't booked up so it wasn't an issue.

Atlanta & North Georgia

The north Georgia mountains provide some of the state’s best camping and hiking terrain, including part of the Appalachian Trail. The vast Chattahoochee National Forest is dotted with historic sites and campgrounds, while cascading waterfalls, RV camping, and glampsites await at Amicalola Falls State Park. Canyon hikes and waterfalls are among the highlights at Tallulah Gorge State park and Cloudland Canyon State Park (the latter also has yurts for rent), and Red Top Mountain State Park lies less than an hour from the state capital, Atlanta.

Central Heartlands

Augusta, Athens, and Macon have a rich musical legacy—artists from James Brown to Otis Redding hail from these parts—plus some of Georgia’s best camping right on their doorstep. Head to Mistletoe State Park to hike, kayak, and fish on the shores of Clarkes Hill Lake; snag an RV campsite or cabin at George L.
