We have a working farm with sweeping views of Lookout mountain and only 12 minutes from all the comforts of downtown Chattanooga. Our expansive 120-acre property provides campers with the freedom to choose their camping spots anywhere on the farm.
Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm.
We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show where the camping site sits on the property. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures.
Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area, in between the orange and green tiny home, and outside the outdoor shower.

It is a small space with nothing but outlets and a small refrigerator. You will need to bring all of your essentials. Pillows/Sheets/Linens/towels are not provided. The bath house is steps away. You will need towels/rags/soap/toilet paper and all essentials. It is merely a toilet, sink, and shower.
There is a Weber charcoal grill available on site. Bring your essentials.

We really appreciated having the gas grill/charcoal combo grill on site to cook dinners on and there is plenty of space to play some yard games (cornhole, frisbee etc). We will absolutely come back!"

We did a weekend getaway here and were immediately overwhelmed with peace. This site is ideal for quiet reflection, prayer, and rest. There are a couple of houses nearby, but they are not on the campsite property and do not affect the experience. One is briefly visible when you first enter the area, but it disappears once you drive deeper into the woods. The other sits across the creek, about 600 yards up the hill, and is only noticeable if you walk all the way down to where the creek meets the river.
The constant sound of the creek flowing next to camp is incredible. It created a calm, grounding atmosphere during our reflections and helped us sleep deeply each night. There is plenty of open space to walk, explore, and set up multiple tents comfortably.
The drive in was easy, even in the rain, and we had no issues without four wheel drive. Directions were clear. Just continue straight to the gate marked “Hipcamp” when your GPS says you’ve arrived.
If you’re looking for an off the grid style retreat that still offers some cell service and easy access to supplies, this place strikes a beautiful balance between seclusion, peace, and practicality. We left feeling rested, centered, and grateful.

Consistently well cared for for years, Broad River Retreat is always a solid choice with an unparalleled view. The road in is gravel, slightly hilly, but well tended and any passenger vehicle should have no trouble there. Jean is an attentive host but never intrudes on your privacy. You have the six acres all to yourself and don’t see neighbors while you are there. It’s our perfect definition of what enjoying the outdoors should be and has comforts to boot. And the broken glass doors at the shelter that another reviewer mentioned have been repaired, so if you use the shelter, you have perfect views out the many sets of glass doors.

This was a beautiful spot to camp, my family loved it. The tiny house/shed was perfect to add some comfort- it made camping with 2 young kids easier and more enjoyable(the heater came in handy at night). We'll definitely book again in the summer to fully enjoy the river!

When I first pulled in, I saw little heads bobbing, geese! Then when I pulled around to my campsite the road led through a little creek any f150 or bigger could get through no problem!!! How awesome is that?! Then, a downfall, the power went out but we had the generator and gas hooked up in a jiffy, with that being said, the man offered to pay for our gas to run our small heater microwave and tv, along with an easy to remember wifi password which worked so well out by the small uncovered lake pavilion. I traveled in an f350 with a camper on top and had very little to no branches above head that got in the way. This is a fine camp and he was able to make us aware of anything when it went wrong or wasn't working properly.

James and Jessica are some of the BEST HOSTS WE HAVE MET OVER THE LAST 6 YEARS!!! Good ol southern hospitality has no limits at Fenn Farms. The property itself is beautiful and so, so peaceful. Our first night here our diesel pusher front tire was leaking air and James was so helpful!!! I absolutely love the creek that runs along the back of the property with all the mini falls and all the farm animals are right there just waiting for a visit! The camp ground environment is absolutely beautiful. The serene lake was a dream & much needed after many hours driving in holiday traffic. The accommodations including hook ups & bath house met our needs. Wish we had a longer stay! Hope to stay again soon.

A great spot! The sunrise is incredible to see coming through the trees! Only 25 minutes from Jackson, a cute town where parts of “stranger things” have been filmed. Super open, easily fit our 16 foot yurt, would be more than enough room for another.

Bill & Laura's hospitality was amazing! They made every effort to help us find a great spot right on the lake! Moved and leveled the picnic table while we enjoyed conversation. Communication details were very detail and a great help. The views were beautiful and serene, we even had access to a gazebo next to our camp. We slept in our tent and felt very safe. We caught two nice size catfish just before leaving which was great! I can't say enough about this private camp site, except we will be back again soon.

We had a wonderful time tent camping here! It was very private and peaceful! Largest camping site we’ve ever had! The swing pictured in the listing was broken when we arrived which was a disappointment for our kiddos but we will definitely be back for more camping trips and maybe it’ll be fixed then! The creek was a wonderful spot to have coffee with the large rocks for sitting!

We loved staying on Robby’s land. He was friendly, and met us at the gate to give us some directions and details about the campsite. The campsite had 6 spots, and most of the were concentrated on one side of the field, so you may be close to others if you choose on of those. We had no one around us, and aside from the occasional train passing by, it was very peaceful. We had great views of the night sky and saw a few shooting stars while we were out. Plenty of space, good access to a bathroom. We had to walk out a bit to get some firewood, but that wasn’t a difficult endeavor. We all had a great time and would stay here in the future.

Atlanta & North Georgia
The north Georgia mountains provide some of the state’s best camping and hiking terrain, including part of the Appalachian Trail. The vast Chattahoochee National Forest is dotted with historic sites and campgrounds, while cascading waterfalls, RV camping, and glampsites await at Amicalola Falls State Park. Canyon hikes and waterfalls are among the highlights at Tallulah Gorge State park and Cloudland Canyon State Park (the latter also has yurts for rent), and Red Top Mountain State Park lies less than an hour from the state capital, Atlanta.
Central Heartlands
Augusta, Athens, and Macon have a rich musical legacy—artists from James Brown to Otis Redding hail from these parts—plus some of Georgia’s best camping right on their doorstep. Head to Mistletoe State Park to hike, kayak, and fish on the shores of Clarkes Hill Lake; snag an RV campsite or cabin at George L. South Georgia
Rolling farmlands form the backdrop for a road trip through South Georgia, perhaps checking into an RV park in one of the many small towns along the way. Foster State Park is an International Dark Sky Park and a wildlife haven set on the banks of the Okefenokee Swamp.
