Just a 15-minute scenic drive from Franklin in North Carolina, easily accessible off Hwy 64, our campground offers a chance to enjoy nature without being far away from the public amenities of a small but well-equipped town.
A few features about our property:
- Working farm: Campers are welcome to meet our Icelandic sheep and take a self-guided tour of our farm, along designated pathways.
- Security: The campground and farm are fenced in on three sides with the river being the fourth boundary. Personal code to the entrance gate will be given at check in.
- Bath House: The restored bathhouse is split into boys’ and girls’ sides. Each side has 2 private showers, 4 flushing toilets, sinks, hot water, and gas heat.
- Community Pavilion: The Pavilion is a large 40x30 ft. open sided structure overlooking the Nantahala River. It has an ample fireplace, running water sink, counter space, couches, and table with benches.
- Pack Room: Where the adventure begins! A cozy hub where all guests get local information, view maps, and grab some local seasonal groceries. Also available to all campers are washing sinks with hot water, toaster oven and microwave.
- Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available.
- Charging: Traveling in an electric vehicle? Recharge for free at our dedicated EV 50amp outlet when you stay at any of our sites. First come, first served.

Each cabin is limited to two guests and there is no additional fee for the second person. Weekend Package (includes tour & some shared meals) and Meal Plans (for training and events) are an additional cost and need to be added for each person. Perfect for rugged camping but with shelter & a shower! Feels secluded, but you still have cell service & civilization nearby in case you need anything. Also lots of historical sites nearby. Caught a few fish in the pond & enjoyed cooking over the fire. Cabin & bathroom were clean and owners were extremely nice! Would love to come back in summer so I can enjoy the flowers!

Weekend Trip to Magnolia Moon Farm
Great spot. Scott and Heidi are some of the most generous hosts I have met. They are very warm and welcoming, and being greeted with a drink of my choice was an amazing way to unwind from a long road trip. The trailer was cute, clean and cozy. It feels remote and back country, and yet it was close enough to the Tail of the Dragon that I could be there at first light. I'd definitely do it again!

I can’t say enough good things about my stay! The farm setting was absolutely serene — nestled along a river and within striking distance of the mountains. Every detail was so thoughtfully done, from the well-kept amenities to the little touches that made it feel both comfortable and connected to nature.
What really stood out was the hospitality. The hosts were genuinely kind and welcoming, and they went out of their way to help me plan things to do in the area — from scenic spots to local hidden gems; they went out of their way to make my stay extra special.
Between the peaceful surroundings, beautiful scenery, and top-notch amenities, this place was the perfect balance of comfort and adventure. I left feeling refreshed, grounded, and already dreaming of coming back. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature!

We had such an incredible time staying at Scott and Heidi's place!! I can't wait to go back; one of the coolest places. We stayed in the stargazers tent and it was SO cute and so well stocked. They built their own 1970's karaoke bar on premises where they made us drinks and sang some Tom waits songs for us. We had such a fun time hanging out with them and hearing their stories. I'll definitely be back through on my next road trip!!

The hosts were friendly and checked in to make sure we always had what we needed. The land is beautiful, we enjoyed our gorgeous morning view of the water and the sound of nature. We made great connections with the other two couples staying on the land around the lake. The Birdhouse had just the right amount of space for us. We appreciated the extra foldable chair and table which came in handy for cooking. The video with directions to our site was also incredibly helpful because we arrived very late at night and were still able to navigate our way around the lake with our wagon full of supplies. Lots of spiders here, they didn’t bother us at all. The bug net, and screened windows allowed us to enjoy a refreshing and lovely breeze. There is a train that passes through a few times in the night.

We had such a wonderful trip. The farm and campsite are just breathtaking, full of wildflowers and butterflies and the clearest creek. The bathhouse and campsites are so modern and well maintained. Fern gully was a great pick for our family with little kids (definitely bring your jogging stroller). We loved the privacy and the well furnished “tent” which really felt more like a hotel room. I loved how it was just a quick walk to the pavilion for easy dish washing. The weather was gorgeous even in the hottest part of summer, we slept so comfortably in the canvas tent. We can’t wait to come back and I took so many pictures. So happy to have this memory with my kids and husband. The campfire and grills are very nice and much easier to deal with than a traditional camp fire set up.
