1 night at Smokey Acres

We stayed in the Orange blossom cabin. It was one of the most peaceful nights we've ever had. Hillary was wonderful. She was incredibly accommodating. We are planning to return for a longer stay. We give 1000 gold stars!!

Absolutely loved it!!!! So so cute and pretty spacious! I felt i was in my own world but there were also many families around me, so I felt very safe as well! If you’re on the taller side, though, definitely bring a mattress or cot haha other then that it was so cute! Will definitely come again!

Weekend Trip to Farm of Dreams Resort

Absolutely beautiful location. Very peaceful place to visit. The staff was absolutely wonderful, making sure we had everything we needed. The grounds, activity center and cabins were immaculate!

4 nights at Bunny Hop Resort LLC

Host was great and very hospitable. The RV is great, wife and I stayed there 3 nights and our kids joined us for the 4th. Better for couples than whole families but it can work for a night or two. Host was quick to provide anything we needed, if we come back to FL might stay here again, easy access to lots of restaurants and other attractions in the area.

Weekend Trip to Honey ranch

The tent was phenomenal. Plenty of room to stand up, the bed was comfortable and the tent had a nice flood light, electric, and a fan. The bed was very comfortable and firm for an air mattress, and held the air just fine with me and my daughter sleeping on it. Porta-potty situation was a little jarring at first but was actually not bad at all, a little shower that amounts to a hose mounted up high, both outdoor with a curtain for privacy, so are perfectly sufficient for camping. Tents were in relatively close proximity to the houses where the host and property owner reside, so it took away a little from the camping vibe. But for the price, and the convenience and comfort of the tent, I would definitely go back. I went with my 10 year old daughter who asked me to stay an extra day, so she enjoyed it as well. 38 minutes from WeekiWachee.

Weekend Trip to Gulf Winds Wildlife Sanctuary

I can’t recommend Gulf Wind and Dona’s sanctuary enough! My son and I had planned a weekend camping outing originally scheduled at another location. We quickly realized the other location was not anywhere near what had been advertised and so I quickly contacted Dona to see if she had some last minute availability on her property. Dona was wonderfully responsive and super accommodating and so we headed over to hers as soon as possible. Our experience at Gulf Wind was beyond what we could have expected! The cabin was perfect, it was outfitted with everything we needed, and Dona also went the extra mile to bring us a firepit so we could make dinner and s’mores over the fire. Dona gave us a tour of the sanctuary and took the time to educate us on the animals and their efforts to keep them safe and healthy. My son was so thrilled to interact with these special animals and to get to know their personalities and preferences. We will absolutely be back. Diego’s cabin was the perfect size for us. Next time we come (and there will be a next time!) we will try the larger Florida Breeze cabin with more of our family to change things up! Thank you, Dona and family, for being so welcoming and accommodating. You seriously enriched my son’s experience and we appreciate what you’re doing for these amazing animals.

A very lovely place with truly welcoming hosts. The room itself was neat, clean, and very comfortable to stay in. I especially enjoyed the wide variety of animals — it was such a delightful surprise! I was particularly impressed by the parrot that dances so charmingly. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality. Candid Review of Our One-Night RV Stay We spent one night in this RV and while there were some positive aspects, our experience overall was quite difficult — especially with a child. The good: The host was truly kind, responsive, and tried to help with the issues that arose. I genuinely appreciate his effort and communication. However, there were several serious concerns: • Safety for children: This is not a kid-friendly campsite. There’s an electric wire fence meant to keep animals inside the enclosure, but it’s easily accessible to children. Despite the warning signs, kids are naturally curious. My child accidentally touched the wire and received a painful electric shock, which was very distressing. • Cleanliness: When we arrived, the bed was made, but there was a strange white stain on the bedsheet — clearly visible once we lay down. That was uncomfortable and concerning. • Water and lighting issues: There was no running water at night or in the morning. The toilet didn’t flush properly and we had to pour water manually from a kettle. Several lights inside the RV also weren’t working. • Disturbing sight in the yard: Most shocking of all — there was a burned goat in the middle of the property, still smoking. My child saw the charred animal with the skull visible, and it was extremely traumatic. There was no warning or explanation, and it completely changed the tone of our stay. • Animal interaction not as pictured: We chose this place hoping for interaction with ani

Wow!! This was our last stop on a Florida roadtrip and I’m so glad we finished it off with this place. The cabin was clean, bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. Most importantly though, we had a tour done with Dona and got to meet all the animals! One of the highlights of our whole trip.

Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando. A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing! Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience. Known as the Nature Coast and one of Florida's greatest hidden secrets, this property is private, yet just minutes from civilization and manatees! The cabin is located on private property with owners and security on site, yet plenty of privacy. During the day, paddle your way to the beautiful Three Sisters Springs for a swim. You may see some manatee on your way there. Hunter Springs is a great little park with a beach area for swimming and kayak rentals too. There are also several Diving with the manatee tours available. This is all only a short drive from camp. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, scalloping, snorkeling, kayaking, pontooning just five minutes away, or just relaxing back at the camp. Heritage Village is in town filled with many hometown eateries and shoppes. It's a great way to spend the afternoon and explore Crystal River. Privacy and country comforts, yet 3 miles from the I-75 exit. Grocery and restaurants nearby as well. There is a stable and 2 cross-fenced paddocks for grazing. An RV site with 30A power and water hookup, but no restroom available fo the RV site. A one room cabin with a queen bed is available with a separate full bathroom. Come visit our friendly donkey (Henry) and Scottish Highland cow (Wallace). You will hear roosters, braying and some mooing early in the morning. The Withlacoochee Trail is a mile east at the end of the road. This is a biking, hiking and equestrian trail. Florida Classic Park is roughly 2 miles north on Lockhart. The Croom Recreational Area is also 3 miles away. If you are traveling with farm animals, we do have (2) 2-acre cross-fenced paddocks available for an additional fee. We also have a stable available, but that does have a concrete floor with mats. Please reach out to us directly in this regard.

An "Old Florida" vibe in Florida's Manatee Capitol of Crystal River. The property is private, yet just minutes from stores, restaurants and the water. The cabin is located on private property with owners and security on site, yet plenty of privacy. Your cabin is fully supplied with bedding, towels, refrigerator, coffee pot, cups and silverware, AC in the summer months, and an electric fireplace in the wintertime. On site is our own Bistro Barn fully furnished with a refrigerator, gas grill, charcoal grill, silverware and all the pots and pans you may be looking for. It's a great little hang out area with bluetooth speaker setup. Outside you will find a firepit as well as a charcoal grill, a table for eating, a hammock, and a swing chair. The outside shower house is on the primitive side and made for the adventure type. It is equipped with a portable toilet and shower under the stars. It is hooked up with instant hot water. During the day, paddle your way to the beautiful Three Sisters Springs for a swim. You may see some manatee or dolphins on your way there. Hunter Springs is a great little park with a beach area for swimming and kayak rentals too. There are also several Diving with the Manatee tours available. One we suggest in town is Fun2Dive. These are all only a short drive away. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, scalloping, snorkeling, kayaking, pontooning just five minutes away, or just relaxing back at camp fireside. Heritage Village is in town filled with many hometown eateries and shoppes. It's a great way to spend the afternoon and explore downtown Crystal River.
