Our property is 15 minutes South, from I75, 10 minutes from any restaurant or publix. We are a 2 mile drive down a dirt road, through the state forest. We offer 2-3 acres of a choose your own spot camping area. Located within the Picayune Strand State Forest, full of peace and quiet, and plenty of birds. We have a facility building that runs off a generator for running water. With that, we have a washroom, that consists of a large shower, and 2 bathroom stalls. we have then propane heated hot water for a nice hot shower. The sites are very " free range". Nothing that is too designated, so you have a free choice of where to pitch your tent, or park your camper van, or your RV. Come and stay within the Evergaldes in Naples, of SWFL. A special private place like no other. You may have the place all to yourself, or share with others. It is not populated like other campgrounds. We really enjoyed our campsite! John was an excellent host -- checking in with us but also letting us do our own thing. We brought paddle boards and spent the entire day paddling Shell Creek and taking in the beauty of nature. The campsite was huge and very shady. It mentioned being sloped but that was really very, very tiny. We have a 13' Scamp and easily got it leveled. We will definitely return!

The property was nice and peaceful, many trees, we seen a baby gator. The camper was nice, dont let the outside fool you. It’s an older style camper. Many people on here complaining about bugs and how the property looked, but keep in mind you are camping at someone’s house and they have children. We are in southwest Florida so bugs and fire ants are expected. George was very responsive with questions. Thanks for allowing us to share your property for a night away

We had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway! The campsite was exactly as described—well-maintained, spacious, and private, with beautiful creek frontage (though access to the water was limited due to brush). It was conveniently located near the shower, bathroom, and public areas, which made things easy. John was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. He had everything ready for us, including kayak rentals and even a lovely sunset pontoon cruise on the scenic creek. The site comfortably fit our three small tents and vehicles, with extra amenities like a picnic table, chairs, a hammock, and even a power cord—wish I had brought a hot pot! Some of my friends noticed light road noise since the site is near the entrance, but it didn’t bother me. We were part of a larger birthday celebration and may have been a bit loud at times, but John remained gracious and accommodating throughout. Everyone was especially excited that dogs were welcome—J and P’s pups were the sweetest! Morning coffee by the river while birdwatching was a personal highlight. I’d absolutely recommend this spot and hope we get the chance to return (hopefully a little quieter next time!). Thank you for hosting us!

AMAZING PLACE. So quiet and well kept. We enjoyed every second, even the rain. We were at the Hideaway. Very secluded and private. The bathroom was pristine. Outside shower was hot and wonderful. The launch for our canoe was fine and the creek was serene and easy to paddle. Pet Friendly!!!! Only comment… Would be nice to have an optional wee light in the shower, maybe a mirror.

My wife and I were there for a few hours, unfortunately there was a brush fire that was a bit too close for comfort (wife is from Fire country out west). Amanda was very helpful getting info about the fire. Richard is onsite and is a hell of a nice guy, gave us some fruit and fishing advice about the pond on site. It’s remote and very quiet with some good fishing. Would recommend.
