Also there are green lanes and fields and if your lucky you can catch site or deer, turkeys, all sorts of birds maybe even a cute baby armadillo. In just over 45 minutes you can be playing on the beach in Panama City Beach, (world’s most beautiful beaches). Something a little different is just a few minutes away Falling Waters state park (Florida's tallest waterfall) and a swimming hole with walking trails. Speaking of swimming Ponce De Leon spring is big and beautiful clear blue hole spring to the west. Or go east to Marriana, about the same distance and you can visit Florida Caverns (Florida's only touring cave) with a beautiful spring with swimming, and hiking there too. We have guest also go to the Econfina Springs and canoe rental and spend a day floating the beautiful Ecofina River with 8 springs to visit on a days float. There are many State parks so close. If you want to go out to eat or socialize a local brewery and restaurants are very close and beautiful Alabama too! We are super easy to visit if you are coming from the north out of Dothan are on Interstate 10 we are just Located 1.4 miles North of Interstate right on Hwy 231. Easy access to the interstate, fuel and shopping. The farm is gated with a remote controlled gate for security. All our RV sites have full hook ups with 15, 30, and 50 amp connections, great clean water and sewer at each site. So if you would enjoy visiting our beautiful getaway we would love to have you and we strive to show all our guest how much we appreciate them visiting. Our partial hook up woods camp haven is only 30 minutes to the emerald coast beaches, 25 minutes to natural springs and far enough from city lights to feel secluded and peaceful. Our property is 10 acres and a work in process. Slowly adding more sites and amenities. Our main home across the street houses 3 dogs and 2 mini goats. We do have a yard dog that protects the property but she is as sweet as they come. We live on heavily wooded acres and currently don’t have a fence. A temporary fence can be provided for small dogs. Please note, we do have lose neighborhood dogs. - Pet owners assume full responsibility. Please inform us of any pets upon arrival. We are building up our RV sites and preparing our homestead. Jay and Suzette are excellent hosts . The location was very easily accessible to I-10 and the Emerald Coast beaches. Convenient grocery options nearby. It's a quiet place in the country the hosts are really welcoming and very knowledgeable it's great for Boondocking if you want your privacy you can also get a remote to the gate which was really convenient; the showers were clean with hot water, washer and dryer available, potable water. Owners checked in on me to make sure I was okay. My only drawback was the neighbours in the neighbouring property played their music pretty loud at night. I was too tired after a date at the beach to care. Other than that everything is cool. The price was right for me ;a weary traveller needing to stay someplace car and tent campingfor at least four days while I took in the beaches. Found a few dog friendly beaches within 50 miles , thx to Jay and Suzettes knowledge of the area. definitely worth it.see you all on down the road! Jen G, TX.

You won’t regret staying here. Whether you’re in a tent, van, RV, or just boondocking out of your vehicle, it’s a really comfortable and safe place to land. The owners genuinely give off that “welcome to auntie and uncle’s place” vibe, which made it feel easy right away. The other campers were kind and welcoming, but also respectful of quiet space, which I appreciated. I stayed in an RV spot but was SUV camping and still felt completely safe and comfortable. The facilities were extremely clean and clearly well maintained. They’re also thoughtfully set up, and there were affordable last-minute snacks available — or what I called “emergency coffee,” which honestly is a huge plus when you need it. I’d absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area. And the location is great. There are a ton of trails nearby through the forests and forest management areas. The Florida Trail is a quick drive away, and there are plenty of dog-friendly options. Overall I had a really good experience here.

Great overnight stop. Can tell it would be a great spot to stop for awhile. Met at the entrance and after a couple of hours to see if I needed anything. Nice walking property. Clean wash house with everything you could need. Other very happy campers.

Such a fun experience! We got to watch Elizabeth milk the cows and ask lots of questions. Purchased all kinds of homemade items in the farm store. The dogs were great company and came by for belly rubs and naps by our campfire. Very close to Florida Caverns State Park. Will definitely camp there again if we are in the area!

Weekend Trip to Larry & Sheila's Blackwater Getaway

I booked Sheila's RV spot #1 near the pavilion about two hours before my 9pm arrival. I was on a long road trip and getting tired, so I was grateful for the ability to instant book the site and even more grateful when she responded right away letting me know she'd turned the lights on for me. The place is beautiful. The RV spot and pavilion are right next to the river which is surrounded by lush vegetation and a sandy shoreline. It was really picturesque and peaceful. The pavilion has electricity with a sink, a fully enclosed toilet room, and an outdoor shower. If I'd had more time, I would have loved to spend more time there.... especially if I was traveling with friends and family. As a solo traveler, I got a little spooked by the series of long, dark, and windy roads between the main highway and the property... especially because cell service was spotty. So while it's perfect because it's remote, I'd encourage solo travelers to arrive before sundown.

Maggie and Mike are spectacular hosts going to extra mile when you stay. They are musicians so I was fortunate enough to turn up when they had a concert on in their yard. The provided food and refreshments. Very helpful and thoughtful people. We had great conversations about food and swapped a curry I made for some fresh honey from their hives. Leto could go off leash and the site is easy to enter and exit. Would recommend staying here to anyone in the area. Thank you.and see you again.

We had a wonderful stay in the little rustic cabin. Grilled steaks, enjoyed 2 evenings by the campfire. Archery hunted Boggy Hollow for 2 days and got to hunt in the snow. We had everything we needed in the cabin and hope to be back soon!

Thanks to the Reviews here AND the quick Reply to my HipCamp message ~ booked an unexpected getaway. WHAT a great place to start the new year and experience the 1st full moon. The hosts were super accepting and accommodating of my late arrival. It's only an hour away to put your toes in the sand! And that sparkling clean, hot shower is a huge bonus after a day at the beach. Even got a guided tour of the property. Peaceful & private ~ perfection! The hosts' care for the campers promotes an obvious feel of community. CanNOT wait to go back in the spring!

Lots of room for our 36 foot fifth wheel and truck. Easy in and out access. The utilities are as stated. It is basically in a back yard setting. It was nice to have our camper covered. I found it a little more crowded than what the pictures showed. But I would definitely stay there again.

we loved our stay at this cozy, comfortable, well equipped camp site! it was the perfect blend of comfortable amenities and an outdoor camping experience. the beautiful wooded environment was so peaceful despite being fairly close to a road. we spent our time relaxing by the firepit all day or exploring the surrounding areas. I feel very rejuvenated after this trip and hope to come back soon! thank you!
