You may see the occasional vehicle or hiker on the road or hear someone doing some yard work, but it is generally very quiet and secluded at the yurt. Our neighbors have chosen to live in Marble for its privacy and tranquillity. Please show them respect by keeping the noise down and leaving them be. If you have questions or need help, call us from the yurt landline. Winter camping experience/equipment and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with severe snow-rated tires and chains may be required to access the yurt Oct-April. During large snow events, driving to the yurt may be impossible in any vehicle. Skiing to the yurt may be an option Dec - Feb. Gear sleds are available at the yurt for your use.

Joyful Journey Hot Springs is 10 minutes away, and Great Sand Dunes National Park is visible from the property. Gym cost is $10 per person or $25 for a group of four. Gym users must sign a liability waiver. The camping area is about 1/4 mile from the main house and about 300 meters from the rest room and potable water. The highest concentration of 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado is in this area with trail heads in nearby Crestone. Rock climbers and rock hounds will enjoy Penitente Canyon about 40 minutes west. White water rafting and all manner of paddling are available on the Arkansas River in nearby Salida, as is access to some of the finest mountain biking in the world, particularly the Monarch Crest Trail. World class fly fishing can be found on the Arkansas River, and Blue Mesa Reservoir is home to all varieties of trout, pike, and kokanee salmon. We are happy to arrange tours with local guides and adventure providers. The Colorado Sports Ranch and Refugee is a working, off-grid, sustainable homestead. Horses, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs, cats, and a donkey all share the property. Animal tours are available.

Another amazing stay at one of the best glamping set ups. The owners are hands on and have put so much thought and care into their property and it shows. They serve one of the best pre-adventure breakfasts known to man. You cannot go wrong staying here, it will be a highlight of your trip. The yurts are incredible and comfortable and the vibes are amazing! Book it already!

Lovely shaded campsite right on a creek. Private with a cool log wall between sites. Not too buggy but bring your bug spray. Very clean porta potty. Easy drive to Salida.

We loved this campsite for its layout and features: trees perfectly spaced for hammocks, good shade, beautiful creek flowing right through, good privacy and separation. The road noise is a factor though, especially with many cars honking at the house right next to the site. Ultimately, I’d stay here again, but wouldn’t recommend it for light sleepers.

Perfectly suited for what we needed. Site was clean. Mountains to the east and west. Good communication and directions from the host. We had no trouble following the directions to the site. For reference, Google Maps includes the unmarked unnamed dirt road where the site is located. Apple Maps does not besides a little spur.

Weekend Trip to Marble Mountain Yurt

This was a beautiful and secluded plot of land. The yurt had everything we needed! Beds were comfy. We very much enjoyed our time here. To quote my friend “I’d do that trip 100 times over again”.

Highly recommend this spot. The cabin was amazing and the bed was great. It was a very hot weekend but the cabin provided enough shade for us and our dog at pretty much all times of the day. Leslie and Tyler were amazing. The biscuits and gravy in the morning is some of the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely be going back and bringing more people along with us!

First time camping, and I’d like to say it’s a really good spot for first time campers. With the restrooms and water really close by, everything was nice. The staff was really helpful and friendly, if you’re looking for a spot to camp for the first time this is the spot.

Great spot with 360 degree views of the mountains. The space is quiet with no hwy noise heard. Loved the innovative firepit that made it easy to light fires. It is tough to find so be sure to watch your messages for the GPS coordinates for the turnoffs.
